Making Fitness Part of her Life

Posted by girlie on February 13, 2012

I have been nagging my daughter to do a bit of fitness because I am starting to worry about her. Not that she is sick or something but she has to do fitness one way or another. She has to inculcate that in her life. It’s a good thing it’s not foreign to her, I mean the idea and all. What she actually wants do to is yoga. I need to find her this extra thick yoga mat so that she’d be as comfortable and so that she’ll love yoga too. I have to try it too and if I find it comfy as what my other friends say, then I have to get one for myself too.

Is Container Gardening for Me?

Posted by girlie on February 9, 2012

I wish my place had a garden. I am not complaining mind you since I already have a nice house. I just want to have a garden, period! That’s how I love gardening that I miss it. Back at my parents house, we took turns taking care of the garden. I remember we were assigned stuff to do. My siblings and I had our own assignments and it was a lot of fun back then. It was a wonderful way to bond. I wish I could do it now, introduce it to my kids. But what about the space? We don’t even have one. I wish I can do backyard gardening. If only we built our house in a bigger lot, then all this would be possible. I am not a green thumb but there are tips here and there about gardening. I found a few online and I want to put it to use already. But how? Is container gardening the solution for me? Who has tried this? Is it easy to maintain? Is it easy to grow? I am so clueless when it comes to this. I need to read more about container gardening, who knows this is the solution to my frustration of wanting to have a garden at home.

The Perfect Tee

Posted by girlie on

Whenever I go to the mall, I wouldn’t pass up a chance of going to the t-shirt section. I just love tees. I can say that I am a tee and jeans person. I do wear dresses and skirts once in a while just to get the hang of it. But if you’d let me choose, I’d pick jeans and tee hands down. I’m not really picky when it comes to brands. I am for affordability and comfort. I wonder if this distro t-shirt fall under it. But judging on the price online, I am happy to announce that it is, so are the rest of these kaos clothing. I was browsing through their products and I can’t help but pick. I want a few items, but at the moment I can’t anymore afford to shell out even a small amount of money. I just recently bought some stuff and it’s a big chunk off my savings. Nope, I am not bitter at all because I know I made the right decision in buying those stuff.

My Very First Kindle

Posted by girlie on February 8, 2012

Photobucket Yay!!! I feel soooo lucky! Nah, nobody played Santa, I bought it from my own savings. Lucky because my dearly beloved cousin Charity got it for me in the US. I can’t believe that they are selling it here for almost $400 while I purchased mine for only $99. Shame on you store owner, hhmmpp! Anyway, I’ll be getting my Kindle next week since her family will be arriving on the 16th. I am very excited and I started shopping for books already. The daughter has one too! Yay for us!

Made of Steel

Posted by girlie on

I used to play badminton a lot. I don’t really understand why all of a sudden I lost interest. It’s probably because none of my friends who live nearby are playing. I normally travel more than an hour just to be able to play. Maybe I just got tired too. Anyway, I wonder if there are metal buildings used as badminton courts. This will be a great idea for the owners since this is almost maintenance free. I don’t really know if we have this here in the country where I live, but I am hoping to see one. It’s about time we change the way buildings are built.

Sitting in Front of a Vanity

Posted by girlie on February 2, 2012

I was spending way too much time browsing the internet when I chanced upon this website which made me realize what I lack in our home. In the early years of my marriage, I’ve been discussing with the husband and convincing him that we need some dressing tables at home. I grew up in a home where I was used to seeing these dressers as how my Mom would call it. Apparently in their household, they never owned one. So I understand if this is not his priority, and I too forgot about it until recently. I have an 18 year old and I see that part of her wish list is to own a vanity table. I think it’s about time that I tell the husband that it’s really needed.

A Happy Convert

Posted by girlie on January 27, 2012

Photobucket It’s a whole new experience for me. I can say that it has an edge, well this is just my opinion. I’m enjoying the speed right now, and I have yet to learn the keyboard functions as well as the shortcuts. I know I sound so ignorant despite that fact 2 members of the family are Mac users. It’s just that I haven’t gotten myself to touch and learn. Anyway I am getting by and I now wouldn’t exchange it for anything else well except for another Mac.

Miss my Bike

Posted by girlie on January 17, 2012

I miss biking. I haven’t been riding for years now. I couldn’t believe that I stopped. At some point, biking was my life. I would wake up early and join the husband, there was even a time that I joined a bike run which is a very memorable experience for me. I was so into it that we even bought suv bike rack. I should think it’s a must if you are into this sport. There is no need to remove parts of the bike just to be able to get it inside the car. It’s also very convenient. Now if you ask me if I still want to go back to biking, my answer is NO. I am enjoying too much the sport I am into.

Nearing the Golden Year

Posted by girlie on

In a few years I will be a golden girl. Am I looking forward to it? Of course I am and I promised myself that this time I will really celebrate. No, it wouldn’t be a grand celebration but instead I just want an intimate dinner with loved ones and friends. Normally when people ask me what I want, I don’t hesitate to tell them. I know it’s going to be a load off their back if I say so. So here are the 50th birthday gifts I want to receive. Anything will do as I love everything in there. So now you have an idea of what I want already, ok? So I expect you to come :D

A Work Opportunity

Posted by girlie on January 4, 2012

For people out there looking for jobs, you might want to consider these Valet Jobs I saw online. This is already a great opportunity especially to those ones who are having a hard time finding jobs. I’ve read a lot of stories, I’ve seen it on television that a lot of people are jobless due to the recession. This is then a great work opportunity, a decent one in fact. This could be the answer to your prayers too.

I Miss Baguio

Posted by girlie on December 30, 2011

We got back last night. We only spent 2 nights in Baguio and we all miss the place. Or is it probably more of the stress-free vacation that we had? We seldom do this as a family, like travel just the four of us. We always tag along a nanny on local trips and it’s such as welcome treat not having one this time. It’s teaching my kids not to get dependent on their nanny. I saw that they can actually do more without her. One more thing that I enjoyed is being alone with my family. We can discuss anything under the sun, we need privacy too you know.

Anyway, we all decided to have this after Christmas holiday yearly. It’s something to look forward to and it’s a wonderful way to bond with the family.

I Want to be Debt Free

Posted by girlie on

Everyone of us wants to be debt free! That’s actually part of New Year’s resolution for many of us, me included. But do we really know how to go about it? Why do we still find ourselves drowning in debt even if we want to eliminate it? Do you think these debt free solutions will work? I wanna give it a try, seriously I wanna get rid of all my debts before 2012 ends. I know I don’t have the time to do it now, but hopefully I will be debt free in 2013. This is something to really look forward to.

Guide Me

Posted by girlie on December 15, 2011

The husband just recently bought a gps for her daughter to use. Yes, she knows how to drive but she doesn’t know how to go places. I admit, this gps thing is a big help especially for her. I guess it’s the same thing for truck owners to install gps for trucks. Those drivers don’t need to go in circles when new to the place. I think most vehicles nowadays have this gps thing and it proves only one thing, it’s really very useful.

The Conversion

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket Weeeeeee! I am pretty excited. I’ve converted finally! I don’t know what to expect although I already have an idea, both husband and daughter are mac users. Ish is going to give me a tutorial because I know it will kinda be hard for me especially the synching and all. My first ever Mac will arrive this January from the US coz I asked the husband’s friend to buy it for me there. I asked him to buy a keyboard too. How I wish I could let him buy the monitor for me, but as it is I no longer have a budget for than. I am getting a generic one. I am very thankful for the writing tasks that I regularly have because it lets me buy some stuff that I really like. See, I am not too dependent after all like what everyone thinks.

Unique As It Is

Posted by girlie on December 5, 2011

I am very fond of unique items. I really spend time looking for them since I want to be the only one who has it. Do you get that feeling sometimes? I have a lot of overwhelming experiences when it comes to unique items. I love the compliments that I get more than anything else. It’s hard to score one and it’s an effort on my part and that’s the reason why I feel so happy when it gets appreciated. When it comes to jewelry, I am the same too. I want my setting to be different from the rest. I want the color combination to be unique too. In other words I really think hard about the designs so that I will be the only one who has it. I also go for items that I think people do not know yet. I want to be the first one to discover it, well at least among friends and acquaintances. Take for example these Glass Pendants, I don’t see pretty much of these nowadays. I don’t see them hanging on people’s necks. Seeing the colors and shapes, it makes me want to own one and be the first among the rest. This is not widely used here in the country that I live in, so I want to be the first to introduce it to them.

Music is in the Family

Posted by girlie on

Both my kids got into music, well at least they tried. My eldest chose the guitar, while my youngest picked the violin. Due to lack of time, they never really got into it. I am sure though that one of these days they will go back to it. I wonder if my boy would ask me to purchase an Ibanez Bass, since it’s really him who is so much interested for now. I wouldn’t question that, I’d rather have him go into music than anywhere else. This is the reason why I support my children when it comes to music. Well not only that, it’s probably because I was into music too in my younger days, and I got the support of my parents.

It Can Make a Wonderful Gift

Posted by girlie on

Thinking of giving something cool for Christmas or any occasion for that matter? I would suggest burning a couple of your favorite songs. I’ve seen a lot of this being done in weddings. The couple would have CDs as their giveaways. It’s not hard doing this stuff nowadays and you can even do it at the last minute what with thefast cd duplication we have. Anything is possible now I should say. I’d love receiving this kind of presents as I am into music a lot. I guess everyone would be appreciative of this since music is universal. What do you say to this?

It’s December?

Posted by girlie on

Wow! Time goes by pretty fast. I just remembered celebrating the yuletide season not too long ago. Is it because we’re too busy that we don’t notice how time flies? Sometimes I don’t really know if I like it or not. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. I don’t because I hate the fact that my kids are growing up too fast and before I know it they will have a family of their own. Yikes, why am I even thinking about this, no not yet. Anyway, I am excited because this is my favorite part of the year. I get to see all my loved ones because of family gatherings here and there. Oh this reminds me of my sisters whom I have not seen in 3 years. I miss them terribly. Hopefully I get to see them soon.

The Cross that I Love!

Posted by girlie on December 1, 2011

I grew up appreciating jewelry be it the real ones or the fancy ones. It’s probably because I often see my Mom and my Aunts wear them. Now it can be told that my love from jewelry came from them. I started with earrings. I think it’s standard for a female child getting their ears pierced before they turn 7. I had mine before I turned 7, and I had my daughter’s ears pierced when she was a baby, a few days after she was born. Then comes other jewelry. I remember my Mom letting me wear a Cross Neckalce Pendant, and I was just so proud of it. I still have it with me until now. I think all four girls in our family wore one. I just don’t remember if others wore fancy. Well my other sister wore something like this Gold Cross Neckalce Pendant I found online. Funny that up until now I find myself still looking for a unique Silver Cross Neckalce Pendant which I can let my daughter use. I guess it’s the fascination for a cross pendant which I grew up with. Now I can see my daughter’s love for it as well. I bet this love for jewelry will carry on from generation to generation. I just can tell.

Solution to Identity Theft

Posted by girlie on November 21, 2011

Have you ever wondered how safe you can get nowadays? Have you heard about your identity being stolen? Scary isn’t it but it’s happening. I’d like to call these stuff electronic stealing. They can steal your identity even without touching your stuff. There’s no need for these thieves to slash your bag to be able to get something. Yes we are already in the 21st century and all these things are happening. But don’t fret, there are still people out there who are after our security and they have developed this so called rfid for our protection. The good thing about it is that it is readily available. You can even purchase it at select stores already. I think I am getting myself one and I am asking my sisters to get it for me because I don’t think we have it here as of yet. How about you, have you thought of getting one for yourself?

Love for the Sea

Posted by girlie on

Florida is a really nice vacation spot. I have not been there personally but based on what I read, it’s a beautiful place and this is validated by people who has been there already. Florida is part of my bucketlist and the daughter’s too, but hers is another story. Visiting Florida is all the more exciting for me especially now that I have renewed my love affair with the sea. Definitely I will read about the florida fishing guide so that I will know how to go about it so as not to waste time. When on vacation I make it a point to maximize and to squeeze in all the activities that I have in mind. I just know that this will be an exciting trip and it’s not impossible to fulfill this dream, after all it’s not that hard to go to America.

My Bellarocca Experience

Posted by girlie on November 17, 2011

Photobucket When SIL told me that we were going to Bellarocca Island Resort and Spa, I got really excited. Seeing the place in photos really impressed me. It reminds me of Santorini. I haven’t been there and I have really been vocal that it’s included in my bucketlist. Anyway, it was a very nice experience. I went snorkeling and kayaking for the first time. Good thing I regularly go to the gym so I didn’t find the activity strenuous. Why did I not go into this thing before? It’s like half my life will be missed if I hadn’t tried it at all. I love it that my companions were into this kind of stuff and they were able to persuade me to try it. I was a bit hesitant at first coz I was really scared. I dunno but once you get to be a Mom you are no longer as adventurous as you used to be. Yeah that’s it! Will share more about this trip.

Soap Made for Sensitive Skin

Posted by girlie on

I’m a sucker for anything organic. It’s a bit pricey so for now I only choose the ones that I really need and the ones that I can afford. There was a time I was looking for an organic soap solely for sensitive skin (eczema) for my son. He’s got very sensitive skin. I read about this african soap and good enough it’s made with 100% pure shea butter. Shea butter really helped with my son’s skin condition. I let him use shea butter lotion and that alone helped, how much more if he uses the soap too. I hope I will be able to order the soap asap so it can help improve his skin.

Beautiful Eyes

Posted by girlie on November 2, 2011

What catches your attention when you see someone? It has always been the eyes for me. This is the reason why I always see to it that I have beautiful expressive eyes. I always make it a point to brighten it up. Let’s face it, the works can do it too. I’ve done different eyeshadow colors so I would know what compliments my eye. Lately I have thought of doing eyelash extension but then again I am not still solved with the idea. I better take a look at these eyelash growth products reviews, who knows I’d be able to find something that really works and I don’t need to go and have the extensions after all. I heard there are really good products that does it. Well, let’s see then I’ll let you know.

Shopping Time Again

Posted by girlie on

It’s the time of the year again. I’ve done most of my Christmas shopping already and I need a few more to complete it. I hope to finish it before everyone else rushes to the malls. I can’t imagine falling in line for ages just to pay. It’s a good thing this barcode scanner was introduced. It can reduce your time at the cashier by half or even more. Whoever thought of this is a genius. I don’t think I can go to a mall with a cashier doing stuff manually, I just don’t have all the time to wait. We’re all busy, you know.
