I heard it really hard to find jobs in the US now, but when I came across this jobsite, I don’t think it is anymore. Or is it just in Dallas that has many job offers. If you live somewhere in Dallas or even close to Dallas, you might want to post your Dallas resumes. There are a lot of available career opportunities listed. Who knows the right job is just waiting for you.

Missing the Shutter

Posted by girlie on May 17, 2008

Photobucket The last time I pressed on the shutter was Saturday, and that was on a 90th birthday celebration we covered. My last shot was of the “kitty girls”, I didn’t even know they existed until that day. They were one of the special guests that night, and I must say I enjoyed taking their pictures. I haven’t turned gay for your information, LOL. It’s just that some of them were really pretty. I love pretty subjects. Anyways, the big boys enjoyed their number, N included (I think).

Now what about missing the shutter? Well we were scheduled to go to La Mesa Dam on Thursday, but due to bad weather we just stayed home. See I missed my chance to press on the shutter. It could have been a wonderful afternoon with N and our daughter Ish who is getting interested in photography. We could have had our tutorials that afternoon. We could have learned more, but then the weather didn’t cooperate. N promised to bring us tomorrow, but he has a client call in Intramuros tomorrow afternoon. Hmmm change venue, change theme. There’s a lot to aim in Intramuros, but I hope it won’t rain. I hope Ish gets better too, she has terrible colds today and quite feverish. I really want to shoot with her, and I’m sure her Dad is super excited that finally one of his kids is showing interest in his passion. Make that the family’s passion. Hello Josh? It’s time to take that butt off the computer chair and enjoy nature with us.

Wonderful Time

Photobucket   We went to Subic for a wedding coverage yesterday. I had fun taking some pictures on the side. While N was working, I was busy too taking pix. Haha, don’t get me wrong, that’s not all I did, of course I worked too, hehe. Anyways, so as not to be bored on our way there (a little above 2 hours) I brought with me a book and of course my crochet project. I did some progress on both actually. Hopefully I get to finish both in no time, haha as if I’m not too busy doing ehem, oh well. At least I don’t get bored because I have a lot to do once I get bored with one.

It’s gonna be a hectic and toxic week for me.  So pardon me peeps me I haven’t been visiting you.  January is really a month of going to this and that, fixing this and that, paying this and that.  Good if you can accomplish it all in one day, but NAH.  They keep telling you to come back for it.  Oh well I am used to it already and I know how to handle it.  Good thing the places that I go to have restaurants or malls around them, go figure, bleh.  Yesterday I bought some “chismis” (gossip) magazines to entertain myself while waiting for my name to be called.  See it’s the company that you choose to drive the boredom while waiting.

serendra.jpg  This was taken last Thursday after a baptismal coverage.  N treated me to dinner at Silk in Serendra.  The food was not bad but it was not good either.  I was expecting more though, because a lot have been saying that they serve really good Thai cuisine.  I therefore conclude that it is over rated.  Is green curry suppose to taste like coconut milk that was not cooked?  Or is it that I am just used to my version of chicken curry.  Hhmm, I think it’s time to upgrade the palate ^_^.

**Notice how I carry my bag, very “queenly”, beh!**

Tired but Happy

I just got back from Subic.  Yes, same venue (The Lighthouse) for a pre-nuptial shoot.  Nope I didn’t not actually work but N wanted me to tag along, so I did.  Well I have another agenda why I came too.  I wanted to buy some stuffs at the nearby duty free shops.  We didn’t have time shop the last time we were there because of work.   And today I thought we won’t make it again to the shops.  We got to Subic at around 2:20 and N was in a hurry to go straight to the venue.  I was kinda pissed off because part of the reason I joined them was to go and buy stuffs in Duty Free.  Good thing it rained a bit and we didn’t have any other choice but to pack up.  Well they’ve had enough shots I guess, so we called it a day.  We made it to Royal Duty Free and I was able to pick up some stuffs, weeeeee!  I’m now happy!

This is what we did during our break.  We took the chance to have our pictures taken.  It’s a lovely place and we cannot let the opportunity pass.  I enjoyed the bonding I had with my daughter Ish.  Memories like this I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. You can see the rest of the pictures here.

Beach Wedding

Posted by girlie on November 5, 2007

lighthouse.JPG  You must be wondering why we were dressed up this way in our last wedding coverage. Fact is, the wedding was held in Subic, by the beach (well not exactly) but it was overlooking the beach. We were asked or rather we were given the permission to come in our beach attire. It was a fun wedding, for once it was sooooo comfortable working in khakis and white spaghetti top and of course the flipflops.

Daughter Ish at Work

Posted by girlie on November 4, 2007

work1.JPG work.JPG  Darling Doll Ish requested if she could come with us to Subic for a wedding coverage last Saturday. This is the first time that she came with us. She has heard a lot about Subic from her Dad, so that’s probably the reason why she wanted to follow. Ahem, she thought she could go shopping at the free port, but sorry darling we went to Subic for work. Actually we just didn’t have extra time to do that…maybe next time ok? Anyway Ish took these two photos of us working. Quite unglamorous, but who cares, whatever position as long as we will take good quality photos.  Btw, she helped in the editing of the video (client requested for an on sight editing).  Now she’s demanding for salary.  Haha, child labor, better give her salary or else ^_^

Overslept

Wahoo!  It feels good, I slept for a good 13 hours.  This seldom happens as I need to take care of a lot of things.  But today, they just allowed me to sleep, probably because I was really dead tired from yesterday’s work (wedding coverage) which was held in Subic.  Yes we travelled all the way there leaving Manila at 9 in the morning just to be there for the 5 pm ceremony.  Then we headed back to Manila at  half past 10 in the evening,  I kinda slept in the car coz I got really dizzy, was just too tired.

What They Can Do

If I am to have a business of my own, this time I’ll make sure that I do it right. Success of the business comes partly from very good marketing strategies. I won’t think twice of hiring people who will do the market research for me. People whose specialty is to learn what people like and the reason why they like it, then this would give me an idea on what to do and what to come up with. Synovate.com is a company constantly finding new ways of gathering facts, and turning them into strategic business insights.

Pissed Off Big Time!

Posted by girlie on September 17, 2007

I just do not understand why there are still people who are ill-mannered and inconsiderate. At our wedding coverage yesterday, the couple hired two different teams of photographers. This is not the first time that we covered a wedding with 2 teams of photographers, but this is the first time I experienced such irresponsible photographer. I was elbowed, yes me, a frail photographer in my little black dress! How dare him! We were all lined up, ready to take photos of the couple, I was positioned in the right spot, and he was beside me. He probably wanted to exchange places with me, so he can take better pictures. But what the hell is that elbow for? This is not a do or die shot anyway! I may have forgiven you when you blocked my way twice or thrice, but this elbow thing? Man, we shall still see each other!

This is work, and remember we were both hired. Can you please at least give courtesy and show some respect next time, you are a photographer too and you wouldn’t want this to happen, know how to play fair. Use your head, you can still take good pictures even in the sidelines you know!

Count Your Blessings

Posted by girlie on September 10, 2007

I am very happy with the turn out of my “career”. I have so much blessings to thank the Lord for. Opps keep on coming (as if you didn’t notice, hehe). And the good news is, I have received an email from one of the companies I signed up for, informing me that my posts have been automatically approved based on high quality performance as a Postie. There’s actually 2 more companies who’s been doing that to all the posts I write for them. You see, I’ve been spending time trying to promote adverts to the best that I can, and I have been rewarded. It encourages me all the more to give quality to each sponsored post I do. I know some of you are disappointed seeing lots and lots of adverts, but sometimes these adverts come in handy, it makes us aware of some things around us. I myself have learned a lot from all the information given, and I know I can make use of all these information in the near future.
