I spent my Saturday in Quiapo looking for the much needed closeup lens with the hubs. You see I am not quite satisfied with what our 50mm macro lens can give me. I want to take photos the way I want it, no cropping, no manipulating. Much as I don’t want to touch the raw file, I can’t do much with resizing, it’s needed, otherwise I would run out of memory. We didn’t find the brand we wanted, so I have to make do with the generic one. We needed to buy a step-up ring too because the lens wouldn’t screw in our 50mm macro lens. I haven’t enjoyed using the closeup lens that much yet because I have not been to Mom’s garden lately. Hopefully next weekend, the lens will be put to use.
**last two photos - just the way I like it, no cropping.**

I didn’t know that it was the last day of the 2008 World Pyro Olympics at Mall of Asia last Saturday. We were there to watch the gala show of designer Ronaldo Arnaldo. When I found out that it was the last day of the Pyro Show, I asked my daughter if she was willing to skip the fashion show. She said yes, so we went to the parking lot of MOA to watch it from there. It started before 8 in the evening. We were lazy to wait for the next country so we decided to go inside SMX to watch the fashion show. Lucky us because we were able to watch both the fashion show and the pyro show. It think it was a showcase of all the countries that participated, I mean in the pyro show.

We celebrated Hannah Angela’s 7th birthday last Saturday. It was held at McDonalds. I saw the excitement in her eyes the moment she stepped at McDo. She was very very happy. I was designated as the official photographer, err I volunteered. N took a video of the celebration. It was fun, everyone enjoyed young and old. I know this will be a memorable birthday celebration for her.
*I’m still too lazy to upload pictures at my flickr…i know i promised, maybe tomorrow.

We went to the “woods” err more like a park on Sunday. It’s actually our first time to go to that place. I heard my daughter complain that she’s not built for nature tripping. You know why? She kept on sneezing and I had to say “Bless You” a couple of time. I don’t think she is allergic or something. It’s just probably a matter of getting used to it. She is a city girl and this is a first to her. We enjoyed this bonding moment. Too bad my darling boy didn’t go with us. He’d rather spend the time with his Uncle playing vid games as usual. It could have been a good exercise for him. Oh maybe next time. By the way I had a great time taking pictures of flowers. I wish to go back there again.

Saturday was spent at the salon for a much needed hairspa. Like I’ve said many times, I own the most abused hair really. It needs some tender loving care. Though I normally do it the DIY way, this time I decided to visit the salon along with my daughter. She had hair treatment too and it was a perfect bonding time for both of us. Sunday was spent over at Mom’s again, and this time I brought my Canon 20d along with my macro lens. I was able to take some beautiful shots (IMO).

Weekend was spent quietly at my Mom’s place. As usual she served us a very delicious lunch. I had fun taking pictures of the flowers, they were all in bloom and it was just a lovely garden. It showered a bit and the raindrops on the flowers was just awesome.
I also asked my brother to drive me to the mall to get my knitting needle. I was just excited to start knitting. To get the hang of it, I practiced first. It was a bit frustrating at first because I couldnt get it right away. But when I started getting it right, there was no stopping.

Once again we had work on Saturday. This time in Subic. I was extra excited because I knew I can take photos especially when I found out that the Wedding will be held at the Subic Bay Yacht Club. Indeed I had a grand time taking shots here and there. I remembered my daughter, she would have loved the place too, she’s also fond of taking pictures. She begged off when I asked her if she wants to come with us…I guess she has other things to do…Jonas Brothers you know :p

Sunday was spent at the mall again…this time to watch a movie. We were suppose to watch at Trinoma, but the cinemas were still closed. A/C problems still, golly and it’s been a week already. It was soooo hot that the kids didn’t want to stay any longer. We proceeded to Theater Mall in Greenhills to watch a movie. Guess what? There are only 2 things I do aside from watching…sleep in the middle of the movie and cry. So what do you think?

Friday’s is one of our favorite restaurants, and that’s where we went last Sunday. As usual we were soooo full. We had Friday’s cheeseburger, chicken fingers, french fries and fried mac and cheese in place of fried mozarella which they run out. I really love their french fries, I think I can finish a plate.
I noticed this very big billboard in the parking lot when we were about to go home. It was well lighted and it really looked nice.

Imagine what it’s like when it’s not Black Saturday! I was not really expecting this much cars parked at Greenhills last Saturday. I thought that we were just one of the few who wanted to chill out on Black Saturday. But it turned out there were lots of us. I tell you the tiangge was full of people, it was impossible not to bump anyone. Business was good. Anyway we just went there to watch a movie. I also took the opportunity to buy some things at The Face Shop. I won’t tell you just yet, I will reserve that for another entry.

I was working again last weekend. We had a wedding coverage at the Shrine of Jesus (MOA grounds) at 7:30 in the evening. Before leaving the church to go to the reception, I noticed the changing lights of SMX and couldn’t help but click away. It’s very pretty. I took some shots of the couple too using those changing lights as background…very romantic.

My Saturday was spent attending a makeup class. Monday’s class was cancelled and Teach scheduled it for Saturday. I was not really keen on attending because I felt some pain in my neck or more on the nape. But one of my dancing buddies convinced me to attend, she thinks that the pain will go away after dancing. True enough it was lessened.
My son is graduating from the elementary level. We attended the Baccalaureate Service this morning. I had to wake up extra early because they were required to be there at 7 in the morning. Graduation Ceremony will be on the 18th.

We decided to bring the kids to Tagaytay for dinner on Saturday. N and I celebrated Vee Day there and we just remembered the kids. We thought that it would be wonderful to spend the weekend there. We wanted them to experience Tagaytay’s temperature which was probably around 10-15 degrees (not sure about this though). Too bad it was not as cold when we got there, but still we had a wonderful weekend.

My ever dependable ride, bringing me anywhere I want. That is what we took going to Mom’s last Sunday. N was working so it’s just 3 of us. No nanny in tow this time.

That’s the main gate going to the subdivision where Mom lives. That’s where I spent my teenage years til the time I got married. I live 15 kilometers away from Mom, but I see to it that we spend Sundays with her.

She’s Martha Francesca, my niece. She had been bugging me to put polish on her nails. The moment we got there, she asked me if I didn’t forget to bring the nail polish.

That’s me and my daughter Ish. She requested me to accompany her to the Salon to have her hair done. Three hours was spent for the digital perm but it was all worth it. The salon has achieved what she really wanted with her hair…big curls. I on the other hand has something new too - my blue funky glasses. Had to change again for the nth time. This time I had to choose one with nose pads so it wouldn’t get in the way when I want “betty boop” lashes =)

It was a night filled with so much fun! It’s nice to see old familiar faces after 25 years! It was worth all the planning that took almost a year. They said it was the best so far, no dull moments, the band played 80s music in between. There was no space in the dance floor for the two hours that the band played. Can you imagine dancing non-stop for an hour, followed by the second set for an hour again. Felt like I lost a lot of calories that night, came home with aching feet, blame it on the heels, boo!

We normally spend Sundays at my Mom’s place. After the church service, we proceeded to her house to have lunch. As usual she serves good food. We pigged out once again. I love my Mom’s garden too. It was actually my sister who did the landscape when she had her vacation 2 years ago. I can’t help but notice the way she combined the plants. The colors are just great!

Promenade, Greenhills. We really love this place a whole lot. A place where we love to chill out, dinners, movies and shopping. Last Saturday, the family decided to have dinner and watch the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was funny, my kids were laughing all the time. We had dinner at Pilita’s, our all time favorite too. You should check out their Porkchops, really yummy. They used to serve lambchops which was also yummy but I don’t know why they removed it in their list. Anyways, we were also treated with beautiful music. Pilita sang that night, I think she does it everyday.

My Saturday was spent working. Even though I worked on that day, I still had so much fun. The weather did not cooperate so we were not able to shoot outdoor. It was raining all day, and I was freezing to death. You know how it is in Tagaytay (Midlands) during this month.

I took this photo when we visited our dentist one Saturday in December. We have been visiting her once every month for some two years now. Both me and my daughter have braces and we are required to go to her once a month for some adjustments. There are times that we do not enjoy visiting her since those adjustments mean PAIN, but then again we cannot do anything about it but follow. So far it has been good for both of us. My TMJ has been corrected and I have not experienced headaches brought about by the TMJ. My daughter on the other hand is a few months short of a beautiful SMILE!

I took this photo the saturday before Christmas Day. My weekend was spent baking cookies to be given away on Christmas Day. I was able to give to 13 loved ones (N’s side of the family). My daughter helped me out, she’s getting quite interested with baking and cooking. MIL said that the cookies tasted good. It’s actually the favorite of my kids and their dad.

This is my first entry for the Weekend Snapshot. We had breakfast at Chow King while waiting for our photographer’s permit at Manila Cathedral. Since Black Gulaman is one of my favorites, and which I haven’t had for a hundred years, I took a photo of it.
