Sunday was spent watching Fashion Week again. We missed Saturday’s show though, but I’m glad that I made it to Sunday’s show. All the brands and designers were all awesome. I particularly liked that of Lyle Ibanez, man he’s good really. I want to wear his designs, very simple yet so chic. He’s like Marc Jacobs I think, well that is just my opinion. Michael Cinco on the other hand still rocks! All his gowns were well applauded. Magnificent beadworks too, oh so intricate. And the Bench show, my oh my, oh so yummmeeeehhh! See second photo, LOL.

Weee! I finally finished it. That’s what I did on the weekend. If not for Pet Society and Restaurant City I could have finished it in a day or two. Can you guess how many days it took me to finish it? I started doing it I think Tuesday of last week…so that’s like 5 days. My my, blame it on these two games I play over at Facebook. It’s addicting!

We went up to Tagaytay to have lunch on Good Friday. Good thing we made reservations at the restaurant, if not we would not have eaten on time because there was just too many people. Looks like each year, more and more people go out and have fun on Good Friday. I remember when I was a young girl, you seldom see people on the road. Good Friday is usually quiet, but now seems like everyone is having a great time including us.
I almost forgot, well actually I have forgotten about our Good Friday tradition with Cuz and her family. Good thing she reminded me that we had to meet at Starbucks at 9 pm. This is our 4th year already and I promised myself not to forget about it next year.
On Saturday, we went to watch Slumdog Millionaire. I love that movie and I think it really deserved all the awards they got. Cinematography was just awesome, music was good too. I just didn’t take photos of our Saturday and Sunday activities, but we were up and about during the weekend.

I was like them last Saturday…a spectator. It was fun watching the dragon boat competition at Baywalk. We were suppose to wake up at 6 in the morning to be at Baywalk by 7:30 to witness the first race of the day. But having slept quite late the night before, we were not able to do so, waking up at 6 that is. We left the house at around 8:30, good thing the race was still going on. We were able to catch about 20 groups competing with each other. It was a great experience for me having to watch the actual competition. I only get to watch the past competitions on telly.

The kids did not have their SatAc last Saturday, so we were free to eat at McD for lunch. I was lazy to cook so I asked them where they wanted to have lunch. Since Ish have been talking McD in her sleep (haha just kidding), but really McD is her fave, I brought them there. I can see the joy in their faces so I made a deal with them. We will now make it a once a month habit, some kind of bonding for the 3 of us.
I noticed this very nice shadow while waiting for the kids to finish playing at timezone on Saturday night. This was at Starbucks while taking a sip of my husband’s fave drink. Yeah I was not in the mood to have my fave caramel machiatto since it was kinda hot, I didn’t like it cold either. Ah maybe I was just not in the mood for Starbucks that time.
How was your weekend? Hope you had fun!

Saturday was spent in school again, it’s the 4th PTC. I didn’t like to go really but I have too. I needed to talk to the HS supervisor because of the college entrance review thing. I don’t like to enroll my child to the accredited review center of the school, but more than anything else I’d like to exercise my right as a Mom to choose which review center I’d like my kid to go to. What sucks is that my daughter has to enroll with the school’s reason that I signed the student-school agreement. It’s like I have a choice. But honestly I overlooked that portion, but then again I can’t do anything but sign since my child was already enrolled. I just feel a little bad that just because I can’t let my child join their review, I have to take him out from that school. Isn’t it unfair, in the first place that is not even part of the curriculum, moreso who is the school to decide on what review center is good for my child? Why are they imposing that everyone should undergo this college entrance review? Darn!
I love the hanging chinese lanterns I saw, there were some in the lobby too. Extended Chinese New Year celebration?
We attended a wedding on Sunday. I was one of the principal sponsors. They are the 3rd couple that I stood as “Ninang”. The bride is the daughter of my husband’s trainor in cycling. It was a simple ceremony, and I was deeply touched by the marriage vow of the groom, I was actually short of crying.
That was our weekend…it was fun…hope you had a fun weekend too.

My daughter is already in 3rd year and this summer she has to review for College Entrance. So soon! Time really flies, before you know it the kids have a family of their own. Duh, I don’t want to think about that yet. Anyways, Saturday was spent scouting for a review center. We only went to two since my daughter is already convinced where she wants to go. No use checking out other review centers. Poor Ish, she can’t go anywhere this summer…well she can take short trips though.
After scouting for a review center, we proceeded to the mall (Trinoma) to watch Australia at their cinema. It was beautiful, quite long (3 hours or so) but it was NOT boring at all. It was a touching film, I love it. I love Nicole and Hugh, still great artists!
This is the scene at the parking when we finished watching the movie. Since it’s 3 hours or so, when we came out it was already dark.

We decided to bring the household help in Tagaytay, a christmas celebration of sorts. Traffic was terrible, but it was worth it. Everybody had fun. We had dinner at Dencio’s (I like the food better at Gerry’s Grill though). We were hoping to eat at Gerry’s, but I think there was none there. My son even said, why do we need to go all the way to Tagaytay to have dinner at Gerry’s when in fact there’s Gerry’s like 5 minutes away from our place. I told him we’d like the girls to experience the breeze, and he was like, it’s cold at Gerry’s you know, there’s A/C. Haha yeah right, I know you don’t like your gaming interrupted. Oh well, good thing we all had fun, especially when we had coffee at Java Jazz. Whenever we go to Tagaytay, we always make it a point to drop by that place.

I attended the PTC (Parents-Teachers Conference) on Saturday. So far so good. The kids are doing well in school, except for some missed quizzes which up to now they still have not taken. Their teachers told me that they can already take it anytime this week. I really love talking to the teachers of my kids, and I am always proud to know that my kids are doing good and they are well behaved.
My daughter Ish helped assist the parents. She has been doing this since grade 5 I think, it’s part of their service for being a scout.
Part of their activity was a store tour of Yellow Cab Pizza. She was chosen to be a “yaya” (nanny) along with another scout to 10 younger scouts (best patrol). She had the best time I think coz she can’t stop talking about it. Now she wants to work there for the summer. I think that would be a great experience for her.

The 29th of November was a big day for my in-laws. This is was their first church wedding after 44 years. This is actually the reason why I was so irregular in my online activities. I helped my SIL in the planning. Each of us had assigned tasks and when the day came, everything was in order…what we expected. It was a beautiful wedding, my MIL was crying while walking down the aisle and this made me and her other loved ones and friends cry. Everything was just beautiful, the church, the flowers, the reception. I especially liked our motif which was pale pink, it went well with the color of the flowers. Everyone was surprised with our dance number at the reception. Nope they were not surprised seeing me and my daughter dance, coz they’ve seen us dance already. Everyone was surprised seeing my son dance for the first time. He made his Lolo (grandpa) and Mama (grandma) happy. I’m so proud of you darling boy. Special thanks to my best HS bud Richard for doing the choreography.

At the last minute, the family decided to watch Madagascar. At first I thought it wasn’t a good idea since traffic was terrible. It normally takes us about 45 minutes to get to the cinema, but last Saturday, it took us more than an hour. Good thing I was able to nap in the car, I didn’t notice the time. We were early for the last full show. My daughter requested if we could go to the bookshop. She bought 2 books again, and I finally got my Moleskine 2009 Diary.

I watched Quantum of Solace already, but I can’t get over Daniel, the new love of my life. Oooopppsie!
On our way home, we passed this strip in Ortigas selling different kinds of lanterns, it was just beautiful.

It was a very busy week since the Philippine Fashion Week started. It’s a weeklong coverage for the hubs as he is designated as the official Runway Photographer. Of course I wouldn’t pass up this opportunity to shoot. It was actually my first to shoot a fashion show. As many of you know by now, I’m more of a wedding photographer. I don’t really know much about photography, but little by little I am learning. Thanks to the hubs for teaching me the basics, and of course the “trade secret”, haha kidding. Anyway it was fun, a bit tiring though especially during the weekend. We would leave the house like 12 noon and would go home at 12 midnight. Haven’t been going online for the past days, thank goodness, 2 more days to go, then I can say I’m 24/7 online.

We had a prenup shoot at Puerto Galera last Saturday. We left home at 8 in the morning to drive to Batangas Port. From there we took the ferry. I was kinda scared coz it was a bit small. Good thing I brought my knitting project with me and the moment I sat down, I started knitting. It worked, it relaxed me a bit, forgetting momentarily that I was riding a small boat. It took us 2 boat rides to get to our destination, the Buri Resort and Spa. Goodness it was really beautiful there. I had some time to take personal photographs while waiting for the makeup artist to finish his thing. I’d like to bring the kids there someday, but the problem is, just like me they are scared of riding small boats. Maybe we can take RoRo instead, it’s a lot bigger.

We went to Greenhills Shopping Center on Saturday. I took the opportunity to have my pimples injected. It has become huge really. Initially the dermatologist was suppose to inject it only but since she found it too big, she decided to have extraction (of puss that is). Yeah a lot, and it was really painful. I had to endure the pain just to look beautiful zit free. Anyway on our way to there, we happened to pass by this kiosk where they sell Halloween stuff. Ish already told me that that ghost standing in the corner was one of the staff. I didn’t believe her, since it looked more like a statue. I went near it, and got the biggest scare of the day when he extended his hand right in my face. Haha, I must have turned white.

I bought a DVD of the hip hop abs. I was really excited to view it, so I brought my portable DVD player on our way to Mom’s. I forgot to charge it and my son forgot to charge his PSP too. I asked my son if i could first use the car charger but he insisted that he wanted to go first too. Solution? The head of the family dropped by a car accessories shop and bought that, so we could both use it.

I worked last Saturday, we covered a debut celebration, and I don’t think I can share photos of it. Anyway, I’m sharing with you what I did last Thursday. I accompanied my MIL to have some flowers arranged. I long wanted to have this arrangment, so I took the opportunity and asked the guy to arranged it for me, with my instructions of course. He wasn’t able to follow what I really wanted, but that will do. It still looked pretty anyway. Next time I’ll just buy a bunch of roses, and arrange it myself. It’s just a jeepney ride away from where we stay…I mean the flower market (Dimasalang).

This photo was not taken last weekend, but two weekends ago. But we actually spent the Saturday in that same bookstore. As usual I checked if that item was still there, luckily it was still there but I didn’t buy it. My daughter showed that to me, looks like she wants to grade my cooking, haha. Do you want to know what I did in the bookstore? I leafed through hundreds of recipes and memorized one particular recipe. Next time I go there, I should have a notebook with me…it’s hard to memorize a lot, might get it all mixed up. Yeah, I can’t afford to buy more recipe books, but I’m saving for a Kylie Kwong though…it’s kinda pricey.

We were invited to attend the 60th RocknRoll party of a friend. I was meaning to wear something representing that era, but I got lazy. I didn’t have time to fix myself since we did our usual Sunday routine. Visit my Mom and have lunch with her, and dinner with the in-laws. We got home at 6:30, I was in a hurry to get dressed and that is the best rocknroll outfit I can come up with. Anyway, I won an iPod Shuffle for answering one of the trivia questions. Thanks for having us E and S. We had fun.
Z was awesome in that number…she was really good. Z is one of the daughters of the celebrant.

I am so in love with this, too bad they don’t have it in my size, and that’s the last pair they have. I need to go to the other converse shops to check if they have it. I checked online but didn’t find it.
Yes, Tekken 6 is our favorite game. Whenever we go to Greenhills, we normally stay at Timezone just to play that game. I love using the big fat guy character, he’s FAT, lol.
And the Darling Doll is all bored waiting for us…or does she want to start reading the new book(s) she bought again? I think she can’t concentrate with all the noise that’s why she wanted to go home right away.

We celebrated FIL’s 91st birthday at Kimpura, a japanese restaurant. Almost everyone in the family was present. As usual a sumptous dinner was served. We had sashimi and sushi of all kinds, and teppanyaki (steak, fish, oysters). My son Josh was expecting the chef to do a show (flipping and all), but he didn’t. Josh was a bit disappointed since he remembered the Japanese restaurant we went to in Philadelphia doing a show. Incidentally the chef who did a show was a Filipino too. When he asked the chef why he didn’t want to do a show, the chef told him that it is more important t have good food rather than a good show to which I disagree a bit. The restaurant in Philly offered both, a good show and good food. Oh never mind Josh, I’m sure Tita Rachel will bring us again in that jap restaurant the next time we visit them. How was your weekend?

Sunday afternoon was spent watching Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. It was an awesome show, Lea Salonga is a very good artist. It’s a good thing my daughter and I decided to watch it. My two boys didn’t have interest in going, so off they went to Mall of Asia. When they fetched us after the show, we couldn’t stop talking in the car about the performance. That got them interested, and now they want to watch. I wonder if there are still tickets being sold, I mean for the prime seats, like the ones I got some 3 weeks ago. Tickets are really pricey, but hey it was worth the price or even more. We were seated in the middle on the 9th row from the stage. Our spot was good enough, much as we wanted to take the really prime seats, we couldn’t, tickets were already sold out. After the show, we bought some souvenirs, the black tee is really cute and the cellphone accessory too. Daughter Ish bought the charm bracelet. We also bought the CD and started listening to it on our way home.

I’ve mentioned a hundred times already that Sundays are spent visiting my Mom and the in-laws. We only miss going there if ever we need to do something or if we have work. I love spending Sundays with them. I wonder how many of us still do this. I’ve been married for 16 years already, and me and my family have spent most Sundays of that 16 years with them. I want my kids to know our parents, and it is also a joy on the part of our parents seeing their grandchildren. They show a different kind of fondness to my kids, one that makes me and the hubs happy.
I’ve been wanting to take photos of butterflies over at Mom’s. Just as this butterfly hops from one flower to another, which is really rare over at Mom’s garden, I DON’T HAVE MY Canon 20d with me. I brought my point and shoot all right, but I am not satisfied with it’s macro. Note to self: I should always bring the camera whenever I go to Fairview.
The flower plants I asked my BIL to grow for me have sprouted and needed to be transferred to the pots. Good thing there is a Mall near my Mom’s place, so I hurriedly went there to buy some pots. I left about 14 pots with them, hopefully in a month or two I can already bring it home with me. I can create my own garden you know, a potted garden that is ^_^ .

Before we went to watch Dark Knight last Saturday, we gave some time to our big boy to play his favorite Tekken6 in Timezone. While waiting for him, I got quite bored so the kid in me decided to try my luck on these coins. I actually do not know what this game is called, but I had fun. Tapping was not really allowed, but I did my share of tapping for the coins to fall so I will be able to play again without buying more coins. Haha, the censor went out because of my tapping. It was a little bit strong since both my arms hurt from the tapping. The attendant warned me not to tap too much. With a smile I said, yeah I know, but you see we are all having a good time, please allow us to tap just a little more.
Dark Knight was cool…Heath’s acting was superb, he was every effective as the Joker.

My Saturday was actually hectic but I still found time to bake mussels. This is actually the first time I’m doing it. Normally when we have mussels, we just have it with soup. I still cooked it the same way so the hubs can have the soup. After which I made a mixture of worcestorshire, black pepper and garlic powder. I placed it on the mussels, topped it with cheddar cheese (i should have used quickmelt) and parsley, then baked it until the cheese melted a bit. The hubs enjoyed it, and this will not be the last time I will prepare it.

Went to Mom’s on Sunday. We missed church because we woke up late. Whenever at Mom’s, I like bringing my camera so I can take pictures of the flowers growing in the garden. I don’t know why I don’t tire taking pictures of the flowers in her garden, to think I see the same flowers, and sometimes I take pictures of the same angle. Well I’m just happy doing it and I love what I’m doing. It’s relaxing.

My daughter invited her groupmates to our house last Saturday to do their project. This is for their TLE and it was dough making. I don’t have a slightest idea on how it is made so I watched them. I helped them a bit in kneading since it was really tough. Imagine a 4:1 ratio of flour and water. It was tiring and they had to knead it for 15 minutes. They complained that their armpits hurt, haha. Not only than, they have to rinse it with water until the water runs clear. Ah no wonder, bread is expensive, making dough is hard, well when you do it manually that is.

This photo was taken the previous Saturday at Vivo City in Singapore. Yep I was lucky enough to unwind and relax in Singapore with loved ones. This is my second in Singapore and I guess I won’t tire visiting Singapore if only for their yummy food and clean air, sans shopping though coz it was just too expensive, I can’t afford to splurge.

That is not what I had (referrig to the frozen hot chocolate balls), well if I saw that in the menu before picking my chocolatey drink, I would have chosen that. Well there is always a next time since we frequent this place a lot.

This is N’s drink. He does not get tired drinking that sticky chocolatey goodness. I was like how can you enjoy drinking that, it’s too thick and sticky and slimy. But seems like he’s enjoying because that is his favorite drink.

This is my chosen drink. We often go to this place, but I normally order their pasta which really tastes good. Besides I don’t like chocolate drinks, it makes me fat.
