A Nice Place to Visit

Posted by girlie on November 11, 2009

If there’s one place I want to visit someday, one of them would definitely be honolulu hawaii. I asked a friend one time why their family keeps on vacationing in that part of the world. All she can say is that the place just keeps her coming back. She said that it’s very relaxing there, and it would be a wonderful place to spend vacation with the family. She even mentioned that Hawaii is somewhat family oriented. I wonder if the kids would want to spend their vacation there. I’m not too sure if they are even familiar with the place. Well it’s about time I introduce them to Hawaii!

I Love Joining Tours

Posted by girlie on April 14, 2009

I just came from a much needed vacation. This time we made sure that we join a tour group. It was actually upon the suggestion of my father-in-law. This is the second time I joined a tour group, and I am very happy that I did. After all my FIL was right. I guess we just could not have done it by ourselves. It would have been difficult exploring the place. Joining tours is nice especially if there’s no one who can bring you around. In my opinion it saves a lot of time too since the tour guide would know where to bring you. If any of you are planning on a New York trip, I suggest you join New York Tours. There’s so much to see in New York, and it would be nice if you can explore all of them. I heard that this group is the leader in New York sightseeing. They have several double-decker buses that can take you to all the wonderful attractions and places of interests. I’ve checked some of the tours they offer and I am interested in some of them. I’ve been to New York, but due to time constraints I was not able to see all. I have actually promised myself that the next time I visit NYC, I just have to explore each and every place of interest.

Beijing Experience

Posted by girlie on April 11, 2009

Photobucket The flight to Beijing was good. It took us almost 5 hours to reach our destination. When we got there, I was really amazed. I so love the place, it was clean, the trees lining the streets was just awesome. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve been too (kasi konte pa lang eh). Honestly, I find Beijing more beautiful than the places I’ve been to in the USA (no offense meant here). First stop after lunch was at the Tiananmen Square, I remember this place because of the massacre that happened in 1989. But that was never mentioned by our tourist guide. Instead she told us that Tiananmen Square is the largest open square in the world.

Photobucket Behind us is the Gate of Heavenly Peace.

Much as we wanted to see the remains of Mao Zedong, it was not part of the tour package we got. It would have been a wonderful experience. FIL was able to see his body when they toured Beijing a couple of years back.

San Diego Memories

Posted by girlie on March 23, 2009

I had the chance to visit San Diego and it’s really beautiful. Too bad we were not able to explore the place that much since I only stayed overnight. I wish I had more time to spend in that place since I really find it very scenic. It’s such a peaceful place, well at least that place we visited. I promised myself that next time I visit the US again, San Diego will be on my itinerary. I can always stay in this San Diego California hotel if my friend can’t accommodate me.

China…Hopefully!

Posted by girlie on February 22, 2009

I am excited! Oh that is an understatement! I’ve been waiting for this time to go on China holidays. I think I mentioned before that I was supposed to go with my cousins and some friends but that didn’t push through. We went to another place instead, yeah Singapore. But this time, looks like it’s gonna push through, well I am keeping my fingers crossed. I’m still waiting for the final date on when the kids’ classes would end so I can already make arrangement for our China tours. My father-in-law suggested that we go on escorted tours because that’s what they had when they went on a China tour a couple of years ago. It makes sense I think since it will be our first time. I don’t want to miss all the important places in history, and all this would only be possible if we join a group or something. Joining a tour group would almost cover it all, says my father-in-law. I guess he is right. Now I’m counting the days, will it be March or April? Will it push through or not? What are the odds? Oh I don’t know, but I have a strong feeling that we will be able to see Beijing and Shanghai…ni hao!

Fond Memories

Posted by girlie on December 14, 2008

When you ask my kids what they remember most about our US trip, Las Vegas would always be on top of their list. Well, I will never forget it either. We had a grand time enjoying the lights when we walked down the famous las vegas strip. It was awesome, and I was really amazed with my surroundings. It was just beautiful. Given the chance, I will always go back to Vegas, I can’t seem to get enough of it. Maybe this time I would enjoy more because the kids are all “grown”, we can leave them in the hotel room while we explore more of what Vegas has to offer.

On Vacations

Posted by girlie on August 22, 2008

Our trip to Las Vegas is really memorable, even my kids have the fondest memories of Las Vegas. We stayed in a posh hotel, that’s what my son considered it, and yeah I agree with him. The 4 hour drive from California to Las Vegas went smooth. Nobody in the coaster slept because of a lot of funny stories to listen too. The ride was very relaxing although not much can be seen, just never ending road it seems. On our way there, we stopped by an outlet to shop and eat, now I can’t remember the name of the place. Anyways, it was funny because more than anything else, we (me and my daughter) were interested in the shopping than eating. We would pretend not to be hungry well in fact the long drive made us. We would rush from one shop to the other like there was no tomorrow. And guess what? We ended up buying only a single item since we didn’t have enough money to spend. It was already the last stretch of our US vacation. Plus we wanted to see more of Las Vegas. Nope we didn’t gamble, gambling is not just for me and my family. We walked past the strip admiring all the beautiful hotels, the hubs enjoyed taking pictures. Oh we were able to watch a show too, The O Show, golly it was awesome. We didn’t see much of Vegas though because of time constraints. But I promised myself to go back and this time I’m going to take one of the Las Vegas tours. I missed a lot I know, because when one of my friends asked me if I was able to see this and that, all I could answer was, no I have not been there. It’s also nice to consult or read through online travel guides for a more pleasant trip. At least you have an idea to all the must see places in the State you are going to visit. It saves time you know. Oh don’t forget to go and see Madame Tussauds wax museum, it’s really worth it. I’ve seen it and had a great time posing with “Brad Pitt” “Madonna” and “Marilyn Monroe”.

Before I forget, since we have plans of visiting Las Vegas once again, I think I will need to sign up with Trusted Tours & Attractions’ latest promo. Who knows I will be able to win the $150 Magellan’s Gift Certificate by signing up for their newsletter. Not only that, all information from the newsletter would be important to my travel plans.

Traveler’s Search Engine

Posted by girlie on June 12, 2008

Almost everything has become available over the internet. I really like that. I don’t need to bother other people when I want to know something. Most often than not, I get the answers I need over the internet. I can say that life has become easier since the internet era. It has even helped students with their assignments. There’s a lot you can do. I for one have always searched the internet when it comes to our travel needs. I am able to plan our trip well. Its best when you have a planned itinerary, time is not wasted. Do you want to know how I come about with our travel plans? There’s a very good traveler’s search engine that I use, and it has yet to disappoint me. It’s sidestep.com if you want to take note of it. I really like that site very much because I am able to compare with their numerous listings of travel deals. If you’re looking to book your flight, book a hotel, car rentals, cruises, travel guide needs, then sidestep.com is the place to go. It’s really nice that you get almost everything you need in that website. It’s very easy to navigate and use. I like how they come up with their listings. They arranged it according to the best deals. I don’t need to go further really because all information are complete. Now if you are travelling somewhere in Florida specifically in Tampa, here’s a short cut to a listing of all rent a car in tampa. Good luck on finding the best deal.

Thank God my darling doll is back. She got here yesterday. This is the first time she is not travelling with us, so that really got me worried. I’m not usually online at Y!M 24/7, but that time she was away, I did. I didn’t realize that I will miss her terribly, but I did. I always get excited whenever my cellphone beeps, always assuming that it’s my darling doll who is sending me sms. She said she had a great time. She was able to visit the places she missed out on when we were there in 2005. She really made it a point to go to California Adventure and Hollywood Blvd. As usual it’s the kid in her, she again went to Disneyland and Universal Studios, seems like my kiddo can’t get enough of those rides. She is a brave girl, riding all the scary ones. Gosh I’m gonna die right there if I took those rides…no way! Just no way!

Discounted Tickets

Posted by girlie on January 31, 2008

Summer vacation is almost here for the kids. I think it’s going to start mid March. Everyone here is looking forward to it. I know of a lot of families who send their kids to the United States for a grand vacation. And you know what? Visiting theme parks are always included in the itinerary. I should know because when we went there for a vacation, I made sure that we will be visiting theme parks. It’s a fun way to spend vacation. Good thing my sister-in-law told me to buy tickets online, so it will save a lot of time instead of joining the long line to buy tickets.

If any of you have plans of visiting Seaworld or the neighbouring theme parks, be sure to get your Seaworld Tickets online. You can even avail of discounted tickets. It does not only allow you to save time by purchasing online but also on money because they offer tickets at a discounted rate.
