At first I had a very hard time understanding what dos command line is. Until now I have a very vague idea of what it is really. But I guess those in the know how can provide me explanations on how this works. All I know is that web designers, programmers and the tech support people have this because this is one way of making life easier for them. This has something to do with windows scripting which I am clueless about. Arrrgghh, how can I start my career as a web designer when simple things like this software I don’t understand. Oh maybe I should start browsing on this topic for added knowledge.

If and when my daughter wants to go into fashion design or fashion merchandising, I think I’d like her to go to one of the fashion schools in california. Haha, I know I am being ambitious here, but really. If I want her to make it big here in the Philippines, I would definitely send her abroad to study. I know it’s no joke to be sending a kid to study in the US, but we can try our best to save for that. I heard that there are quite a number of good fashion schools in los angeles. So yeah maybe we can send her there. Now I’m thinking, is there a fashion school in california that is near our relatives’ place? I hope so, with that she won’t feel homesick all the time. Yeah, wishful thinking…nothing wrong with that eh!

Page Ranks have gone up once again. Now what? Should we expect more offers? I’ve checked but there’s no change actually. Oh probably I’m just excited. Maybe it has not taken effect yet, or should I say the networks haven’t upgraded the rankings yet. Oh whatever! But I’m happy, although a bit confused with this PR thingy. But it only means one thing to me, hopefully a higher PR means more moolah. Does it follow? Let’s wait and see!

I have two kids, young as they are I am already dreaming of sending them to the best universities when they go to college. As early as now, I am thinking of putting Ish at a review center because I know it’s really tough Getting into Top Schools. I want her to be prepared when she takes up the entrance test. I know a lot of you are doing this already just to be sure that your kids will be accepted in top or major universities.
It’s getting tougher and tougher. Do you want me to share with you How to Get into the Ivy League? We all know that not all can make it to these great schools. If you want to have an advantage, you should do something about it like probably enroll in a boot camp that offers a range of services to give you the SAT advantage. Many have already testified how it has helped them improve on their scores and eventually being accepted in top universities. Of course you wouldn’t miss that chance, right? Here’s the key to admissions, and with just the price of an iPod, we can help get our children admitted to top colleges. Miroadvantage.com is designed to give confidence, to raise scores, and to make our children competitive. They have a pool of teachers to help our children succeed on test day. It’s for their future, and what they will become some day. A little sacrifice won’t help, I mean sacrificing your want to have an iPod in exchange for a better future for our children.

A lot of people are considering having steel buildings nowadays. And why not, it allows them to save more money and cut down on the construction costs. It takes something like 3 to 4 days to put up a steel building, although it actually depends on the size of the building. But here you can already see that the construction period is cut to more than one half already. If you ask me the benefits of having steel buildings, you will be surprised to find out that there are actually a great number of benefits. A Future Steel Building is made from Galvalume Plus Steel, the world’s finest steel we have today. It is a highly corrosion-resistance steel, meaning it’s rust free. It will provide you with a building which is superb in strength and at the same time attractive in appearance. I know many of you are not familiar with steel buildings as yet. If you want to know more about it, you can probably get ideas over at their blog. I have learned a lot of things about steel buildings from reading their blog already, maybe by doing so you too will be educated and those questions lying in your minds unanswered will soon clear up.

We were at work when we found out that one of our clients died a tragic death. We couldn’t believe it, he has just been to our house a week ago to submit the photos they chose for the wedding album. This client of ours is close to our hearts already, he’s been a good friend to N. He does not consider us as somebody different but has offered us his friendship. When he was here last week, he kept on embracing N, and he even told a friend who was with him to take care of N. We did not see it as premonition, but come to think of it, it was. The wife said that he has been calling friends whom he has not talked with in the last two weeks, but nobody thought that he was leaving us physically already. It’s really sad, they have not even celebrated their first year anniversary, and he has not enjoyed fully being a dad to a month old baby girl. That’s why my heart bleeds. I could not help but cry when we went to the wake. miss your laughter! We will surely miss your laughter!

There was a point in my life that all I did everyday was answer some fun tests online. My all time favorite were those personality quizzes. I was always excited to know the results if truly it jives with the kind of personality I have. Check out www.quizrocket.com, and take the quiz yourself. It’s really fun and entertaining. This can keep you company too when you’re bored. They have lots and lots of personality quizzes and fun tests. I tried answering some a while back, and I was laughing at myself while answering. Oh before I forget, if you want to know if you are a genius, take their trivia quizzes.

It has been a habit of mine to read reviews of the products/services before actually purchasing. I want to be sure that it is perfectly fine, and not just some manufacturers’ propaganda. I like reviews done by real people, people who have used the product. So for those of you who are planning to buy radar detectors, you might want to check out radar detector reviews and try to compare prices, pros and cons, comparison of products, etc. before deciding to buy.

If you are low on cash and wants to get some important things done, do you know that you can avail of a home equity loan? What is this home equity am I talking about? According to wikipedia, “home equity is the difference between the home’s fair market value and the unpaid balance of the mortgage over your loan.” You can use this as collateral to avail of a loan, or as your line of credit. Normally mortgage rate is higher than the interest rates of your home equity loan or line of credit. Now that you know about this, don’t stress yourself about finding other means, go ahead and get things done right away. Don’t worry about where to get the money for tuition fees, or things that need to be repaired at home, or consolidate your debt, after all interest rates of home equity loans are much lower compared to other loans.

Not everyone is blessed financially. There are times that we are low on cash, and we have nobody to turn to. There are also times that we have unexpected expenses, the kind that we never anticipated. When we are faced with these kinds of problems, what do we do? Initial reaction would be to borrow money from relatives. But what if they do not have extra money to spare? Well you can always apply for Loans. Completeloansource.com has all types of loans you can avail of. They provide loan services for everyone. You can avail of their Personal Loan, with a low and competitive loan rate. If you think it’s hard to avail this type of loan, think twice. Did you know that you need not have a collateral to be approved? You can even get an approval online, without having to wait for longer periods of time for processing. Check out their Car Loans program too. Again their loan rates are competitive, and getting an approval is not a problem either. You can also do it online, no need to go to a bank which takes longer than usual. With their instant auto loan processing, you get your approval within a few minutes.

I once again attended the general meeting of our batch(HS) held at the conference room of my alma mater, Trinity College. Since we will be hosting the 25th(yikes) Alumni Homecoming this coming February 2006, we had to work overtime for the preparations. It’s been nice seeing some more batchmates, others I can recall, others not. But it’s been good, we get to update on each others lives, reminisce a bit, laugh about the good old times. I will always look forward to these meetings, a time to renew friendships with long lost friends.
After the meeting, we were treated to dinner by Jing (now AVP of AIU Corporation, AIG) at Tempura. The fun and reminiscing cotinues! We can only laugh at the silly things we did back in High School. Thanks Jing for the wonderful dinner!

I have a few friends in the US who are into distant learning. Some are about to finish, some have just started. I asked them why they decided to do it. They gave me different answers. One said that she is too old to go to a regular school but wanted to earn a college degree. The other one was supporting herself to school so she needed to have a regular job to pay off for her college degree. They all say that they like the idea of distant learning, less stress for them. I asked them too if there are a alot of courses offered, and if there are a lot of online schools. When I checked on the website, I was surprised that there are a lot of schools offerring online education and different online degree programs. Hhhmmm, it’s not too late for you and me to get a second degree. As they always say, nobody is too old to learn.

It’s so sad that truck accidents increase in number each year. Blame it to the negligence of the truck drivers. Most often than not, they are the ones at fault. I don’t know why they are still allowed to drive. Owners of trucking services should screen applicants very carefully so as to avoid such freak accidents. But there are just irresponsible drivers around. Most that fiigure in accidents are either under the influence of drugs and alcohol. And you know what’s disgusting? There are trucking companies who take the side of their drivers even if they know they are at fault. They come to their rescue and they have lawyers who take care of it. But what about the victim? Of course if those companies have lawyers who are on their side, you too can hire a truck accident lawyer. Don’t worry about paying them right at that instant, coz normally they charge on contingency basis, meaning they will only get paid if they win money damages for you.

When we were still building this house, I remember myself flipping through the pages of a lot of home magazines, and surfing the web for some ideas on how to fix and decorate the interior of the house. There was even a time that I didn’t anymore know what I liked since there were a lot nice things I saw and I couldn’t make up my mind. I remember my husband reminding me to leave the lighting to him, since he is really very particular about lights and stuffs. Even in our other house, he was also the one in-charge of the lighting. He was saying something like, why don’t we put a pair of wall sconce in this area, since sconces are used as accents to add life to an uninteresting blank wall. He also mentioned that he really liked the illuminating soft lights coming from sconces creating a warm and homey atmosphere. I’m glad I left him to decide on the lighting aspect.

A what? A what again? What do I know about plasma cutter? Good that I came across this, and I learned something new today. Did you? I bet you did ^_^ Funny how I had to google it because I really do not have an idea what it is. Oh, so it has something to do with cutting steel and metals. And the best one in the market is manufactured by Kaliburn, they are the best when it comes to precision plasma cutting. Please bear that in mind, I will too, so that when somebody we know is in need of a plasma cutter, then we have something to suggest.

This is one thing I learned from my mom, especially if you do not have any idea with regards to something. She’ll always tell us “Talk to the Experts.” I’ve talked to a friend recently, and this is exactly what I advised her to do. She was planning to relocate and thinking of buying a property. But since she is barely new in that country, she tells me that she does not know anything about the ins and outs when it comes to acquiring properties. I told her about this website who specializes in beaufort nc real estate, and now she’s looking into the possibility of getting them. I keep reminding her not to stress out on something especially if there’s someone who can help her out with. Leave it to the experts, I always tell her.

We got this letter from the Mathematics Trainers’ Guild, Philippines congratulating us, our son Josh successfully passed the qualifying examination. This will train him for future international mathematics competitions. I have not even finished asking him if he wanted to join, but quickly blurted “Hell, NO!” I never bothered to ask him why as I already know the answer. I just encouraged him but to no avail. You see saturdays are his only time to chill out and relax. I don’t allow them to use the internet on weekdays plus the fact that they already have saturday activities in school. And did I mention that they have everyday quizzes and seatworks? I just had to give in to him, as I feel like pushing and pressuring him too much. Anyways this letter made us happy enough knowing the capabilities of our son.

I had a meeting with my high school classmates at Cafe Breton last saturday. It was nice seeing them again. We don’t see each other regularly because of our busy schedules and of course family life. So this is really a rare opportunity that I made it a point to attend. It was supposed to be a quick meeting, but you know how it is when you see each other especially if you haven’t seen each other for a long time. Updating here and there, we had our own stories to tell. Anyways, the purpose of the meeting is to discuss the incoming 25th Batch Reunion which will be held in February 2008. We discussed how we could help financially to support some projects of our batch. It was a fruitful meeting and we were able to come up with something. Again, nice seeing you guys and hope to see more of you often.

Remember they made me the official cook? Since then, I have never stopped searching for new recipes to feed them. This is the first time I did Sweet and Sour Fish, and I’m glad they loved it! They usually do not go for tomato based recipes, and I was surprised they all went “it’s yummy Mom!” I love cooking for the family coz they really appreciate my inferior cooking skills…don’t worry I’m on my way to become a good cook for you guys! Meantime, just enjoy all the experiments ^_^ I do for you.

I was about to take a bath when I heard something sparking, then suddenly the lights went off. I heard commotion, inside our house and outside. I immediately wore my top without putting on my bra, gosh I was a lil bit in panic already. I had to grab my son Josh who was also groping in the dark. Ish was fast enough to go downstairs already. Josh was met halfway by his yaya (nanny), I went back to get a flashlight. It turned out, the spark came from the Meralco post. Actually fire started already, good thing the construction workers nearby had presence of mind, that they hopped on a car and hopped to the roof and threw a pail of sand to stop the fire from spreading. Firemen responded right away, but there was no need for them as the fire was put off already. Meralco arrived at 11:30, (incident happened around 8 in the evening) but did nothing. We didn’t have electricity until today at about 8 in the evening, and it took them only 30 minutes to fix it. It’s just frustrating that this people from Meralco didn’t respond right away. It took them 24 hours to fix it, arrrrggghhh! Good thing I didn’t have any deadlines to meet, hehe, if not maybe I’d go to the nearby internet shop, harhar. And you know what? I observed that it was only us who went out of the house empty handed, well 4 of us adults were bringing flashlights, and that was it. The others were bringing with them their bags and some paper bags with personal belongings. Another one was even bringing her laptop with her. And us? golly empty handed. If ever the fire continued we won’t be able to save anything but ourselves.
Praise God that the fire did not spread. We were saved from such disaster. God is really good!

We saw this thing running on the road on our way to my Mom’s house last Saturday. And it was quite fast, like a go cart. I asked our driver to follow it coz I wanted to take a picture of it. I gave the camera to my husband coz he was seated in front of the van. So there…transformer in motion…isn’t it a cutie? Proudly Pinoy Made.

I got this idea from one of my daily reads JennyL. When I visited her blog one time, she made one of her digiscraps her wallpaper and I found it really cool. I even left a message that one day I will do the same. I tried changing my wallpaper the other day and it came out good…yeah a screaming hipncoolmomma on a 15.4 in monitor ^_^

Since chop suey is one of Isha’s favorites, I thought of cooking it for lunch today. As I was preparing the vegetables, I thought of giving the carrots some kick by turning it into something beautiful. Making it into a flower shape is what I had in mind. Following what I saw in the cooking programs I watch on tv, I began slicing and before I knew it, blood started gushing out my pointing finger. Yes, the knife hit my finger. It was painful alright, but that didn’t stop me from making a “beautiful” meal for my family.
