Disney Adventure

Posted by girlie on September 17, 2009

I so envy my daughter, she was able to try almost all the rides in Disneyland. Well that happened on her second visit to the United States. She really had fun she said. She was able to go to the other side (unfair!), that side which I have not set my foot in. It’s just huge that one can’t get to finish the place in a day. Best suggestion is to stay at this Disneyland hotel if you really want to enjoy to the fullest. I will keep that in mind next time we visit Disneyland. As they say no one is too old for Disney!

Fond Memories

Posted by girlie on December 14, 2008

When you ask my kids what they remember most about our US trip, Las Vegas would always be on top of their list. Well, I will never forget it either. We had a grand time enjoying the lights when we walked down the famous las vegas strip. It was awesome, and I was really amazed with my surroundings. It was just beautiful. Given the chance, I will always go back to Vegas, I can’t seem to get enough of it. Maybe this time I would enjoy more because the kids are all “grown”, we can leave them in the hotel room while we explore more of what Vegas has to offer.

Why Bother?

Posted by girlie on November 7, 2008

I have a simple question for you guys. Whenever you travel, do you bother people to pick you up in the airport? Honestly, I do. And sometimes I even feel sad and disappointed when someone can’t pick me up. Well that was before, when I still didn’t know how busy people are especially in the US. When we stayed there for a month, I observed the kind of life people live there. And slowly I understood that I don’t have any reason to get disappointed. Time is really very important to them, and sometimes they do not even have time for themselves. Others hold two to three jobs and you can just imagine how tiring it is. It would be a lot of help when you just make use of the airport shuttle. It’s actually convenient, since they are going to drop you off to your destination. Now if any of you guys plan to go to NYC, I suggest you book Newark Airport Shuttle in advance. They have new and modern vans with a separate luggage compartment. You can make reservations 24/7. And best of all, they are on time. Nothing to worry about in other words. Oh before I forget, you can also book them if you plan to see the whole of NYC. They offer NYC Tours and Attractions. See you can go on your own without being a bother to your relatives and friends. Always remember that people in America do not really have the luxury of time. I can even say that 24 hours is not just enough for them. Now you get the picture, right?

I’m a HipMomma, Remember?

Who says I like to have Orlando vacations? I don’t like, but I am dying for one. I haven’t been to that part of the US, haha as if I’ve been to many parts, duh. But really it’s our dream (well at least me and my daughter Ish) to go there and enjoy all the theme parks. I don’t think a week is enough to get to enjoy all the rides. We’ve spent 2 successive days at Disneyland in California, but we wanted more time there. It was a beautiful experience. Yeah I know that I’m already old for that stuff, but hey what can you do if I am still young at heart?  Teehee!

Best Deals in Las Vegas

Posted by girlie on October 31, 2008

Are you looking for a hotel in las vegas? Let me share with you this website I found where most people book their hotels. Do you want to know why? It’s because this website is the expert in giving you excellent deals. They can find hotels for you 77 percent off last year’s rate. Can you beat that? It’s fun being in Las Vegas I tell you. I was amazed by all the lights, the beautiful people, beautiful hotels you see everywhere. I have yet to hear someone go to Vegas and not like it. If any of you are planning a US trip, please don’t miss to include Las Vegas in your itinerary.

I Love NYC

Posted by girlie on

NYC is the place I want to visit again. I had the chance of going there upon the invitation of my good friend Guigi back in 2005. I brought along my 2 kids, and they or should I say we have the fondest memories of New York City. We haven’t seen the whole of NYC because of lack of time. I promised myself that given the chance to go back to the United States, I will not miss going to New York again. I find the city very beautiful and I love the fast paced life they have. It’s like everyone’s in a hurry. I know there’s so much to see and I’m looking forward to it. We plan to visit the US again in 2010, maybe we can avail the services of NYC Bus Charters. If there’s four of us plus my two sisters, nieces and nephew, it’s just wise to have chartered transportation. Good thing the website that I discovered provides charter bus service to Philadelphia. That’s where we are staying, with my sisters. Thinking about it makes me excited this early. I hope everything pushes through though. I guess this time we really need the city tour and sightseeing so we can cover and will be able to see key places in New York. I don’t want to miss a thing this time.

I Want to Go See NYC Again!

Posted by girlie on August 28, 2008

I love New York City. I had the privilege of getting invited to roam around the city, although not much but I had a great time. It’s one city that my kids still remember from all the vacations we’ve had. Thanks to my dear friend G for taking time off to tour us. It was a quick stay I must say, so I’d love to go back there and really explore the city, but with the hubs this time. I’d love it if we’d be in a group. It’s fun to go places with a group of friends. I just wish that when the time comes for us to visit NYC again, it would be with a group of friends, or with some relatives. We could make use of the NYC Bus Charters. They are the leader when it comes to this. They have friendly and courteous staff I’ve read. Their buses are nice too, it’s well maintained and even has a lavatory. I’d love to take their tailored custom tour, having to sit in their comfortable and reclining seats. This is really very important to me as I get tired easily. I need all the comfort I can get. I think you’d like it the same way. Before I forget, let me mention that they offer discounted transfers for groups. You get a 10 percent discount too if you book or purchase tickets in advance. They also do airport transfer by the way. So the next time you go to NYC especially if you are in large groups, don’t forget this superb service.

Durian: The Sweet Smelling Fruit

Posted by girlie on July 10, 2008

Photobucket If you are wondering what fruit that is, it’s the “sweet smelling” durian. Haha, yeah I find the smell heavenly, but the others don’t. I love it’s heavenly taste too, but the others don’t. There’s this place in Singapore (Gaylang?) that sells durian from Malaysia. We were brought there by the aunt of our friend to let us taste Malaysia’s famous Durian. We wanted to bring some home, but they say it’s prohibited in the airport. Honestly, I still find our Durian (well the ones from Davao) better. Ours is even better than the ones from Bangkok too. Our durian is more meaty and sweet, well that is just my opinion. Anyhoo, I enjoyed the fruit and I can’t have enough so finished like 4 seeds…the taste is just heavenly.

House of What?!?

Posted by girlie on July 9, 2008

Photobucket It’s the photographer in me and nothing else. I saw this signage while walking along Orchard Road in Singapore, it just caught my attention. I wonder why I have not seen that back in 2004. Ah I know, I was not into photography then but just wanted to be photographed all the time, hehe. Really, I guess anyone who loves photography will take notice of that signage, it’s something, something I find funny and extra-ordinary. I couldn’t stop myself from taking a pic, I wonder what others who took notice were saying. Do I care? Not at all, as along as I bring home an awesome shot and post it here, harhar.

With Justice in Sing

Guess who took time off to be with me in Singapore? It’s Justice and her two kids. I sent her sms before I left just to let her know that I will be around. The moment I turned on my cellular phone, the first message I got was a welcome message from her. Sweet! She always kept in touch and finally we agreed to meet on Friday. She fetched me at the hotel and I was really excited to see her. I got my coffee fix courtesy of her. She actually suggested bringing me to a restaurant that serves the best dimsum, but then I just had lunch, so we settled for starbucks instead (haha walang kamatayang starbucks, kahit dito sa Manila, starbucks pa din). We were supposed to go out clubbing that night, but some things came up which really annoyed us to the max. That deserves another entry in this blog.

Justice, thanks again…it was really nice seeing you in your vavavoom “sexily”- hot outfit!

Vacation Happenings

Posted by girlie on July 7, 2008

Photobucket We left Thursday morning for Singapore. I was with my SIL, BIL and a friend. It was a bumpy ride but it did not stop me to sleep since I did not sleep practically the night before I left. I had to do double time with some assigned tasks that had deadlines. If you know me, I pack like hours before the flight especially if it’s just a short trip. The trip was fun, with all the walking which gave me sore muscles. Tummy was happy since we really ate a lot. Much as I wanted to shop, I made only a few, goolay it was sooooo expensive. I was telling myself, if I did the shopping in Hong Kong, the moolah I spent in Singapore would have brought me an additional luggage. That’s how expensive the shopping is in Singapore compared to Hong Kong and Bangkok. Everything is just so expensive. All I did was salivate on the stuff that I saw, you know like just admire them from a distance. I even told Justice, who took time out to meet me there that I was a bit sad with the shopping, hehe. Actually I knew about it since it is already my second time to be in Singapore. But then again I was still hoping that things have changed, woot!

Traveler’s Search Engine

Posted by girlie on June 12, 2008

Almost everything has become available over the internet. I really like that. I don’t need to bother other people when I want to know something. Most often than not, I get the answers I need over the internet. I can say that life has become easier since the internet era. It has even helped students with their assignments. There’s a lot you can do. I for one have always searched the internet when it comes to our travel needs. I am able to plan our trip well. Its best when you have a planned itinerary, time is not wasted. Do you want to know how I come about with our travel plans? There’s a very good traveler’s search engine that I use, and it has yet to disappoint me. It’s sidestep.com if you want to take note of it. I really like that site very much because I am able to compare with their numerous listings of travel deals. If you’re looking to book your flight, book a hotel, car rentals, cruises, travel guide needs, then sidestep.com is the place to go. It’s really nice that you get almost everything you need in that website. It’s very easy to navigate and use. I like how they come up with their listings. They arranged it according to the best deals. I don’t need to go further really because all information are complete. Now if you are travelling somewhere in Florida specifically in Tampa, here’s a short cut to a listing of all rent a car in tampa. Good luck on finding the best deal.

I’d Love to Visit NYC Again!

Posted by girlie on February 19, 2008

I can’t get enough of New York City. I know there’s a lot more to see there. My friend has brought us to some wonderful places there, but time was of the essence. Much as we wanted to see more, we were limited to a few places. But really we appreciate the fact that she was able to show us around. Maybe the next time we visit New York, we would be able to visit all the major NYC Attractions. I will see to it that we do. I will allot maybe 3 days of our stay there visiting the attractions that we’ve miss. There’s this Super New York tour that is being offered at citysightsny.com. I think I’ll take that offer. It includes a tour of downtown New York. I’d love to see Time Square, Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building, Chinatown, Ground Zero to name a few. I’ve actually been to those places, but I’d love to see it again. Oh there’s one thing we’ve missed, and that is the chance to visit Museums. Good thing this is included in the tour. A night tour is also exciting. We’ll have a chance to see the breathtaking views of the Manhattan’s skyline. A Harbour Cruise will be exciting too. This will be our chance to see the Statue of Liberty up close. And of course climb up the Empire State Building’s Observation Deck where we can see the spectacular 360-degree view of the Big Apple. See why I can’t get enough of New York City. It’s the most beautiful city I’ve seen so far.

Vegas is a Must

Posted by girlie on January 26, 2008

I’ve been to Vegas and it was truly an experience I will never forget. We just stayed for two nights and it was never enough. I wanted to see more, but due to lack of time I was not able to do that. Vegas is really a beautiful place, even my kids loved it. This is one of the places that they still remember until now. The shows, the lights, everything about Vegas is just awesome. I suggest that whenever you visit the United States, do make it a point to visit Las Vegas. You can always go online and look for a Vegas hotel. That’s what we did when we visited.

Come With Us BF!

Posted by girlie on January 24, 2008

My husband would really be happy to find out that there are pet friendly hotels. You see we are dog lovers, and we treat our dogs like they are one of us. They are part of my family. When our dog Diego knows that we are bringing him with us, there is a non-stop wagging of tail. He gets excited and leaps automatically when we open the door of our vehicle. Or sometimes he would just jump inside the kennel ready to travel with us. It’s nice to know that there are hotels who take our pets into consideration. They know how attached a person can get with their pets and they wouldn’t want to leave them behind when on vacation. Just like us human, it’s also a good therapy for our pets to once in a while go out of the confines of our homes. We should let them enjoy the new environment too. Well I can really say this, because as I’ve said, we treat our dogs like family members. They deserve it being a man’s best friend.

For those animal lovers who reside in the United States, you can check out officialpethotels.com to find out if the area you are going to have pet friendly hotels. They have the complete listing, and you better find out which hotel welcomes your BF. By visiting the website, you will also find tips for travelling with pets. Get yourselves acquainted with the website first, and find out everything you ought to know to avoid delays and for a hassle-free travel.

And the best way to experience winter is visit London! Celebrate the festive season by experiencing London’s largest free winter event. Travel Guide

Posted by girlie on November 26, 2007

I think I mentioned before that I usually go to a travel guide website to fix our itinerary before traveling to a different country. I want it all laid out, so that we will not be wasting our time trying to figure where to go first. And it had been a success. Planning a trip before hand saves a lot of time, and it allows you to go see more places and just enjoy. It helps that the travel guide website advices come from real people, people who has been in that place. They can give you a beautiful insight of the place, places which you need to visit, places you have to avoid going to.

Learn from people’s experiences reading their travel reviews, discover new places, save with travel deals and share your experiences too, all these you get when you go to this travel guide.

I Want to Take a Cruise

Posted by girlie on November 20, 2007

I’ve wanted to take a cruise for a long time already, but how? My hubby is sea sick, and the kids are scared to board a ship. So tell me! Maybe if I can show them these carnival cruises, they will change their mind. I hope I will be able to convince them that it would be fun and exciting taking this carnival cruise. It going to be a lifetime experience one will never forget. It’s like staying in a 5-star hotel, with all the grand amenities this cruise ship offers. Carnival Cruise Line is the most popular cruise line in the world. They boast of a wide variety of on-board activities like shows, sports, and different programs for the whole family. The dining experience is totally superb offering superb dishes. I wish we could board this cruise ship anytime soon!

Visit Sea World

Posted by girlie on November 4, 2007

Hey did you know that when you buy one-day Sea World Tickets you get the second day free? This is a limited time offer, so if I were you better buy it now. There are a lot of benefits when you buy your tickets ahead of time. It saves you the time from the long lines of people wanting to purchase a ticket. Not only that, when you buy tickets online, you get to save because tickets sold over the internet are way cheaper. It’s really discounted, my sister-in-law has tried doing that, so I can really vouch for it. Visiting Sea World would be a great experience for the whole family. It’s a great way to bond. I recommend you watch the Shamu Show, we enjoyed every bit of it when we went 2 years ago. Until now my kids never stop talking about Shamu.

Last Minute Holidays

Posted by girlie on October 30, 2007

I was talking with my sister-in-law over the phone the other night and she mentioned that she wanted to have R&R somewhere, somewhere because she does not actually know where she wants to go. She just feels like going away, and it is very timely since it’s a long weekend. I even laughed at her for not planning, but well it’s her spur of the moment. She says that she can still enjoy even if nothing is planned, as long as she can think of a perfect destination. Come to think of it, yes it can be true. There are times that we have unexpected vacations or unexpected free time, and this is the best time to getaway. It is especially true to her because she works and works and does not have the time to go on a vacation. Well now I can share with her this website I found that offers Last Minute Holidays. I browsed through the website and I found the places they offer really exciting. It’s a great way to spend a much needed break. And the good news, even if everything is last minute, you still get good deals. Normally when it is not planned, and you just want to get away right at that moment, travel agencies take advantage of it. They offer you holidays at high prices because they feel like you have no other choice. But in this website, whether it is planned or last minute decisions, they still offer deals you cannot resist. So whenever you want last minute holidays, you already know which site to go to.

Vacation Homes

Posted by girlie on October 22, 2007

Good news to all families out there, especially if you’re planning a trip to Orlando, Florida. If there are more than four of you who’s travelling, then it would be a lot cheaper to go for Orlando vacation rental homes rather than check in at hotels. Staying at a vacation home rentals has a lot of benefits. You can do you’re own cooking, which saves you a lot of money, you can lounge anywhere just like what you do at home, and it’s more relaxing if your staying at a real “home” atmosphere.
