Fifty to Seventy

Posted by girlie on January 12, 2010

I have not been to Cancun, Mexico but based on all the beach photos I’ve seen online, that’s one place I want to visit someday. Of course when you like to visit a place someday the first thing you consider is if it is affordable. Funny that this won’t happen anytime soon for me, I mean visit the place, but I went ahead and checked if I can afford it. Guess what? I was surprised to find out that an all inclusive cancun vacation is pretty affordable. Woohoo one of my wishes can come true. I’m gonna go tell Ish, we both dream of going places. It would be nice to include it in our list of places to visit before we reach 50 oh make that 70 for me, haha.

Let’s Make it There!

The hubs really felt bad that he was not able to join us when we first went to NYC. What can we do, he had a job to finish here in the Philippines. We actually flew 2 weeks ahead of him, first stop was at San Francisco to visit one of my bestfriends in college. After 5 days, we flew to the east coast to stay with my sister in Philadelphia. Since a close friend of mind is working in NYC, she asked if we wanted to see the place. Of course all of us said yes, at that time the kids were still young. You know what happens when you have younger kids in tow. You can’t really enjoy the place that much. All of us actually experienced that in our own right. Now do you know what is on our minds? We want to visit the place again, this time with the husband. I’m sure everyone will enjoy this time. Both kids are into traveling and of course sight seeing. As much as possible they want to go see a lot of places. The next time we go to New York, I think it would be convenient if we get Car Service NYC.

Beijing Experience

Posted by girlie on April 11, 2009

Photobucket The flight to Beijing was good. It took us almost 5 hours to reach our destination. When we got there, I was really amazed. I so love the place, it was clean, the trees lining the streets was just awesome. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve been too (kasi konte pa lang eh). Honestly, I find Beijing more beautiful than the places I’ve been to in the USA (no offense meant here). First stop after lunch was at the Tiananmen Square, I remember this place because of the massacre that happened in 1989. But that was never mentioned by our tourist guide. Instead she told us that Tiananmen Square is the largest open square in the world.

Photobucket Behind us is the Gate of Heavenly Peace.

Much as we wanted to see the remains of Mao Zedong, it was not part of the tour package we got. It would have been a wonderful experience. FIL was able to see his body when they toured Beijing a couple of years back.

San Diego Memories

Posted by girlie on March 23, 2009

I had the chance to visit San Diego and it’s really beautiful. Too bad we were not able to explore the place that much since I only stayed overnight. I wish I had more time to spend in that place since I really find it very scenic. It’s such a peaceful place, well at least that place we visited. I promised myself that next time I visit the US again, San Diego will be on my itinerary. I can always stay in this San Diego California hotel if my friend can’t accommodate me.

China…Hopefully!

Posted by girlie on February 22, 2009

I am excited! Oh that is an understatement! I’ve been waiting for this time to go on China holidays. I think I mentioned before that I was supposed to go with my cousins and some friends but that didn’t push through. We went to another place instead, yeah Singapore. But this time, looks like it’s gonna push through, well I am keeping my fingers crossed. I’m still waiting for the final date on when the kids’ classes would end so I can already make arrangement for our China tours. My father-in-law suggested that we go on escorted tours because that’s what they had when they went on a China tour a couple of years ago. It makes sense I think since it will be our first time. I don’t want to miss all the important places in history, and all this would only be possible if we join a group or something. Joining a tour group would almost cover it all, says my father-in-law. I guess he is right. Now I’m counting the days, will it be March or April? Will it push through or not? What are the odds? Oh I don’t know, but I have a strong feeling that we will be able to see Beijing and Shanghai…ni hao!

Bus Charters to NYC

Posted by girlie on December 24, 2008

New York City! I bet everyone wants to see this place. I for one have been dreaming of going there. Luckily I was able to, and yes with my two kids. Too bad the hubs was not able to come with us because of work. But he promised to bring us again when we visit the States in probably 2 years. Oh make that one and a half. Haha do you feel the excitement? Good thing my sisters stay in the east coast and very near New York City at that. All we need to do is hire one of the best New York Bus Charters. They offer transportation for groups of any size. They have vehicles that can accommodate 9 to 50 plus persons, and they can bring you to any destination. You can even customize your itinerary with the help of their travel consultants. This way you won’t miss out on all the scenic places there is to visit. Not only that, if you wish to visit some of the neighboring States, you can do that too. Exciting, isn’t it? I bet the kids will suggest a Theme Park Day. We actually have not been to any theme parks in the east coast, so this will be a great opportunity since they offer one day tours to multi day tours. I also heard that they have very accommodating and courteous staff and not only that, all their vehicles are well maintained.

Travel: Visit the Middle East

Posted by girlie on June 17, 2008

I never realized that there’s so much of Middle East regions and territories I want to visit. First in my list would be Israel. This is a very interesting place that dates back to the time of Jesus. I want to go and see everything I only read in the bible. The history of Middle East dates back to ancient times and each place has significant stories to tell. It would be a great opportunity to be stepping on soil that dates back to ancient times, the most important chapter in world history. It would be a great experience which I hope to be able to have one day. Middle East travel will be very rich in experience. When my daughter hears about this, there’s one thing she will say. “Mom, if ever can I come with you?” This daughter of mine loves ancient history. Sometimes when I hear her talk to her father about history, I am like “What are they talking about?” I don’t know much about history to begin with, but I am interested. It will sink in better I guess if you get the visit the place too. What a nice excuse to travel, but hey I know you would agree with me that it’s part of learning about world history. It’s like sealing what you’ve only read in books.

By the way, if visiting Middle East is part of your vacation plans, arabiatravelmarket.co.uk is the website to go to. They have a quick and easy comparison of flights, accommodation and attractions in the Middle East. It would be easier for you to pick the best deals.

Why Visit France

Posted by girlie on June 2, 2008

There are a lot of reasons why one should include France in their list of must places to visit. It’s on top of my list since N shared with me some of his experiences when he visited France a couple of years ago. I saw all the beautiful pictures he took, and it’s a lovely place. I’ve watched a couple of shows featuring France and this made me want to visit France all the more. One of the reasons why I want to go to there is the food. French cuisine has always had a special spot in my heart. I want to study culinary arts there and put up my own restaurant some day. How about you? Is France in your list too?

Hot Cruise Deals

Posted by girlie on June 1, 2008

If given the chance, I would definitely go for cruises. Sad that I will be alone though, alone in the sense that my family wouldn’t go with me. For sure I will be cruising with either my relatives or some friends. Maybe with the experience I will have in that cruise, I can convince my family that after all joining the cruise is not really scary. It’s gonna be a wonderful experience. I’ve heard so much about cruises from my relatives, and honestly I am green with envy. The farthest I can go is check online for cruise schedules and of course the price. I go to cruisecheap.com.

Montreal: The place I want to Visit Someday

Posted by girlie on May 20, 2008

I know I’ve mentioned this a hundred times already that visiting Canada is in my wish list. My eagerness to visit the place went really big when one of my blogger friends who used to stay in Quebec described how beautiful Canada is. I am not taking it out of my wishlist just like what I did to the other places I wanted to visit. Canada will always remain, waiting to have a check mark. Of course I won’t miss Montreal, which is now the 2nd largest city in Canada. I heard shopping there is really awesome. I learned from my blogger friend that when it’s the sale season, prices are really unbelievable. She even told us the price of the footwear she was wearing when we saw her which she got on sale. We were like, really? I couldn’t believe it. She also said that accommodation in Montreal is not really a problem since there are a lot of Montreal Hotels where we could stay. We can even choose depending on our budget. All are strategically located so going to famous places/landmarks will not be a problem. She said there is so much to see in Montreal. I’m sure I will be enjoying myself taking pictures like there is no tomorrow. The reason why I really want to visit Canada are the pictures I saw in her blog. I told myself, I should not miss visiting this place. So from then on, it was put on the list of places I want to visit some day. Thanks to that blogger friend of mine, who showed me Canada even if in photos only.

B&B in Toronto

Posted by girlie on May 6, 2008

How does bed and breakfast appeal to you? Nah it’s nothing like having breakfast in bed, harhar. But that could be done in any bed and breakfast, so technically it’s still right ^_^. I heard that Toronto bed and breakfast is pretty cool. The guest houses are really nice. I’ve actually seen a picture of one Bed and breakfast toronto and it’s pretty much cozy. I like the homey atmosphere but having the comfort of a hotel. Sounds good, I tell yah! But if you are not the bed and breakfast type of person, well you can always check out Hotels in Toronto.
