His Baby…Now Mine

If not for Thess, I wouldn’t have any interest in using this lensbaby. In one of our chat conversations, she asked me if I’m familiar with lensbaby. I told her that the hubs has one, but I haven’t had the interest to use it (it’s just lying in the cabinet collecting dust, haha you can see it in the pic). I thought it was hard to use, indeed it was when I tried using it the other day. It’s a bit tricky. I took a couple of shots ending up disappointed coz I couldn’t get it right. I was sooo used to macro shots, and even with this lensbaby, I want it done the macro way too which is impossible. I think I need to buy a macrokit so I won’t feel frustrated. I already have a couple of shots posted in my flickr account, plus the pictures you see (flag and ring) in my LP entry. I love using it and I can’t wait to take pictures of flowers in my Mom’s garden.

No Good…but

Photobucket I’ve been “flickring” a lot the last 2 or 3 weeks forgetting about other more important things. Gah! I can’t help it you know, it’s just wonderful being able to share your talent, err do I have one? I am a wannabe, photographer wannabe that is. Been indulging a lot lately with nature, flowers in particular. I still have a lot to learn and thanks to N who has been giving me tips. What I do is show him the photos, and he gives me pointers on what I should have done. There are actually a few mistakes noticed, but most of my photos were greatly appreciated by him…and that makes me one happy wifey. Thanks to my 2 inspirations, who actually got me started on this macro thingy. My macro buddies KC and Thess. They are great amateur photographers (that’s how they want to be called) for now, but with such great talent I wouldn’t be surprised if they turn PRO.

Missing the Shutter

Posted by girlie on May 17, 2008

Photobucket The last time I pressed on the shutter was Saturday, and that was on a 90th birthday celebration we covered. My last shot was of the “kitty girls”, I didn’t even know they existed until that day. They were one of the special guests that night, and I must say I enjoyed taking their pictures. I haven’t turned gay for your information, LOL. It’s just that some of them were really pretty. I love pretty subjects. Anyways, the big boys enjoyed their number, N included (I think).

Now what about missing the shutter? Well we were scheduled to go to La Mesa Dam on Thursday, but due to bad weather we just stayed home. See I missed my chance to press on the shutter. It could have been a wonderful afternoon with N and our daughter Ish who is getting interested in photography. We could have had our tutorials that afternoon. We could have learned more, but then the weather didn’t cooperate. N promised to bring us tomorrow, but he has a client call in Intramuros tomorrow afternoon. Hmmm change venue, change theme. There’s a lot to aim in Intramuros, but I hope it won’t rain. I hope Ish gets better too, she has terrible colds today and quite feverish. I really want to shoot with her, and I’m sure her Dad is super excited that finally one of his kids is showing interest in his passion. Make that the family’s passion. Hello Josh? It’s time to take that butt off the computer chair and enjoy nature with us.

I’ve been hooked lately, that is taking photos of flowers using my macro lens. Those flowers are from my Mom’s garden. There are a few varieties only, so if you notice I take different angles per variety/flower. I wish I knew the names of all the flowers, but as it is I don’t. They are really all pretty. I bought a few seeds to sow, but it will be placed in pots. I don’t have a garden, or should I say, you can’t spot soil in our house. I regret not having a garden in the house, but I am contented. I’ll just have to go somewhere else whenever I want to take pictures of flowers. It gives me a different kind of high being able to produce good pictures, well that is just my opinion (on the good pictures part ^_^). If you want to see more, please check my PHOTOSTREAM at flickr. If you wish to add me, go ahead, I’d really appreciate it.

Lanterns

My daughter Ish took this picture.  Isn’t it lovely?  She is indeed the daughter of N.  She proudly showed me this picture and a lot more she took in Subic.  Now she is asking us to have it printed in 8r so she could have it framed and display in her room.  Honestly I like almost all the photos she took.  She has the eye, and it needs to be developed more.  She only used her Canon point and shoot camera, what more if we gave her the professional one.  The funny part, she was asking if she can sell her pictures in Ebay, haha.  She even asked me if  professional photographers really earn big moolah.  Hmmm how should I answer that, if I’d say yes then she might forget her dream of becoming a lawyer.
