Debut: 59th Weekend Snapshot

Photobucket Remember this weekend snapshot entry a few weeks back? Tada, that is the beadwork that I did.  Nope I didn’t sew the gown nor the cocktail dress but I was the one who suggested the design, of course where else do I pick…internet!  I also helped buy the fabric.  I was also deeply touched by the appreciation of the Mom of the debutante who is the first cousin of Nelson.  I don’t know but I am just happy doing small things like this.  I want to be of help all the time and I always volunteer when it comes to such stuff.  My MIL knows about this that’s why she always has me in mind whenever someone goes to her for help.

Fashion Week : 58th Weekend Snapshot

Sunday was spent watching Fashion Week again. We missed Saturday’s show though, but I’m glad that I made it to Sunday’s show. All the brands and designers were all awesome. I particularly liked that of Lyle Ibanez, man he’s good really. I want to wear his designs, very simple yet so chic. He’s like Marc Jacobs I think, well that is just my opinion. Michael Cinco on the other hand still rocks! All his gowns were well applauded. Magnificent beadworks too, oh so intricate. And the Bench show, my oh my, oh so yummmeeeehhh! See second photo, LOL.

The Beadwork : 57th Weekend Snapshot

Photobucket Weee! I finally finished it. That’s what I did on the weekend. If not for Pet Society and Restaurant City I could have finished it in a day or two. Can you guess how many days it took me to finish it? I started doing it I think Tuesday of last week…so that’s like 5 days. My my, blame it on these two games I play over at Facebook. It’s addicting!

Tulay (Bridge) : 46th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on April 30, 2009

Hardin : 44th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on April 18, 2009

Good Friday : 54th Weekend Snapshot

Posted by girlie on April 13, 2009

Photobucket We went up to Tagaytay to have lunch on Good Friday. Good thing we made reservations at the restaurant, if not we would not have eaten on time because there was just too many people. Looks like each year, more and more people go out and have fun on Good Friday. I remember when I was a young girl, you seldom see people on the road. Good Friday is usually quiet, but now seems like everyone is having a great time including us.

Photobucket I almost forgot, well actually I have forgotten about our Good Friday tradition with Cuz and her family. Good thing she reminded me that we had to meet at Starbucks at 9 pm. This is our 4th year already and I promised myself not to forget about it next year.

On Saturday, we went to watch Slumdog Millionaire. I love that movie and I think it really deserved all the awards they got. Cinematography was just awesome, music was good too. I just didn’t take photos of our Saturday and Sunday activities, but we were up and about during the weekend.

Dragon Boat : 53rd Weekend Snapshot

Posted by girlie on March 29, 2009

Photobucket I was like them last Saturday…a spectator. It was fun watching the dragon boat competition at Baywalk. We were suppose to wake up at 6 in the morning to be at Baywalk by 7:30 to witness the first race of the day. But having slept quite late the night before, we were not able to do so, waking up at 6 that is. We left the house at around 8:30, good thing the race was still going on. We were able to catch about 20 groups competing with each other. It was a great experience for me having to watch the actual competition. I only get to watch the past competitions on telly.

Sapatos : 43rd Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on March 26, 2009

Photobucket Sapatos…sapatos…bakit nga ba napakarami kong sapatos?

Paboritong Alahas : 42nd Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on March 19, 2009

Photobucket

Affordable Cameras

Posted by girlie on March 14, 2009

I’ve witnessed a lot of wedding ceremonies and celebrations. Why you ask? My husband and I have been in the wedding industry for quite some time now. We have done a lot of weddings already, so we’ve witnessed different styles especially when it comes to the wedding reception. For one, wedding cameras are getting to be in. At first I was really wondering what those cameras were doing on top of the tables. I cannot help but notice it because it wasn’t the usual disposable cameras that you see. This one is really personalized. I love the idea, it’s cool! It’s the interaction among guests that spells fun. You can even include a table card with the instructions on how you want your photos taken or that of the festivities. I also love that fact that everyone who attended the wedding will have a photo on that memorable occasion. Sometimes we can’t help but miss out on some people especially when it comes to photos. Of course we want to know who attended this special day and only these photos can tell. Now I get the idea on why some couples have come up with this cool idea. Before I forget, let me mention that these custom cameras are very affordable. You can even get additional discount for bulk orders.

Bag : 40th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on March 5, 2009

Photobucket Bags for sale!!!

Bulaklak (Flower) : 39th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on February 26, 2009

Photobucket Aba parang na she loves me, she loves me not ang bulaklak na ito.

Photobucket Ang rosas bow!

Tipanan (Date) : 38th Litratong Pinoy

Puso (Heart) : 37th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on February 14, 2009

Last PTC : 49th Weekend Snapshot

Posted by girlie on February 9, 2009

Photobucket Saturday was spent in school again, it’s the 4th PTC. I didn’t like to go really but I have too. I needed to talk to the HS supervisor because of the college entrance review thing. I don’t like to enroll my child to the accredited review center of the school, but more than anything else I’d like to exercise my right as a Mom to choose which review center I’d like my kid to go to. What sucks is that my daughter has to enroll with the school’s reason that I signed the student-school agreement. It’s like I have a choice. But honestly I overlooked that portion, but then again I can’t do anything but sign since my child was already enrolled. I just feel a little bad that just because I can’t let my child join their review, I have to take him out from that school. Isn’t it unfair, in the first place that is not even part of the curriculum, moreso who is the school to decide on what review center is good for my child? Why are they imposing that everyone should undergo this college entrance review? Darn!

Photobucket I love the hanging chinese lanterns I saw, there were some in the lobby too. Extended Chinese New Year celebration?

Photobucket We attended a wedding on Sunday. I was one of the principal sponsors. They are the 3rd couple that I stood as “Ninang”. The bride is the daughter of my husband’s trainor in cycling. It was a simple ceremony, and I was deeply touched by the marriage vow of the groom, I was actually short of crying.

That was our weekend…it was fun…hope you had a fun weekend too.

Tsokolate (Chocolate) : 36th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on February 5, 2009

Photobucket

Photobucket Ang aking paborito, then and now.

Lila (Violet) : 35th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on January 29, 2009

Photobucket Ang Lila ay isa sa mga poborito kong kulay (Violet is one of my favorite colors). I didn’t find theme hard, but I forgot to take a peek at the website to know the current theme, thus I’m kinda late in posting). I was once into beads in fact I was able to put up a small business selling my beadworks, sales even reached the US).

Kahel (Orange) : 34th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on January 22, 2009

Photobucket Ang ganda di ba? (Isn’t it a beauty?) (That was from my Mom’s garden. She has a lot of flowers in different colors. But there were only 2 orange flowers).

Pula (Red) : 32nd Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on January 9, 2009

Ang ganda against the epol green tabletop.

What Brand Do You Use?

Posted by girlie on October 16, 2008

What brand of compact flash do you use? Is it reliable? I heard that there are certain brands that give you error. Proof to that are my husband’s friends who come to us and have lost data retrieved. It’s a good thing the the brand of compact flash we use is very reliable. I think we only used the software to retrieve only once and it was due to human error. It’s very important to have a reliable compact flash brand. I was also surprised that it now comes in 32GB. The last time we bought it was only 8GB, not a long time ago. I’d love to own a 32GB or even a 64GB compact flash. Now this is what you call super unlimited photos without changing compact flash every now and then.

“Flickr-itis”

Posted by girlie on July 3, 2008

Photobucket Oh my goodness! I am addicted really. I bought around 8 pots of different flowers in different colors so that I can take photos of it and upload in my Flickr. Whenever I go to Ace Hardware, I would buy plastic pots and different varieties of flower seeds. I’ve asked my brother and brother-in-law to sow it for me since they have better conditions there (sun and soil). I will just get it from them when it starts to produce some buds. Haha I am such a brat. I’ve placed it in our terrace, and you can see me there every morning watering and talking to them. I have asked our driver to make me some ledge so I can put the pots there for everyone to see. I really love the different colors. Once the ledge is done, I will take photos of the flowers (wide angle). For now it’s just sitting on the floor with only us appreciating it.

Sweet Spot

Posted by girlie on June 25, 2008

Photobucket This is partly the reason why I am having backpains right now. I was uberly excited using the lensbaby and wanting to perfect each and every shot. If you are familiar with the lensbaby, it’s not like the ordinary lens where you don’t do anything but point it to your subject. Well you still point the lensbaby to your subject but you do a little adjustment like bending and tilting for whatever effect you want on the subject. It’s very hard to hit the sweet spot I tell you. It not only breaks my backbones but blurs my eyes as well. Maybe it would take a while before I use that lens again.

His Baby…Now Mine

If not for Thess, I wouldn’t have any interest in using this lensbaby. In one of our chat conversations, she asked me if I’m familiar with lensbaby. I told her that the hubs has one, but I haven’t had the interest to use it (it’s just lying in the cabinet collecting dust, haha you can see it in the pic). I thought it was hard to use, indeed it was when I tried using it the other day. It’s a bit tricky. I took a couple of shots ending up disappointed coz I couldn’t get it right. I was sooo used to macro shots, and even with this lensbaby, I want it done the macro way too which is impossible. I think I need to buy a macrokit so I won’t feel frustrated. I already have a couple of shots posted in my flickr account, plus the pictures you see (flag and ring) in my LP entry. I love using it and I can’t wait to take pictures of flowers in my Mom’s garden.
