Bag Addicts

Posted by girlie on September 29, 2007

handbagaddicta1.gif

yellow.JPG I got a new bag again, I don’t know whats with bags that I can’t resist it. I guess every woman wants to own bags in different colors. This is the first time I got a bag in yellow. Isn’t is pretty? Hmmmm….now what color of shoes can I wear with this? A yellow one too? Nah, I don’t like to get a yellow shoe at the moment, too much shopping already, harhar.

gray.JPG This is Isha’s new school bag, when she saw this she went gaga over it. And why not, it’s just a beauty! Baby, can I borrow it some time? We actually share bags, so we don’t really feel guilty when we keep on buying, hehe. The same goes with shoes ^_^ . The nice thing about having a teenage daughter, she loves shopping too, so I’m not alone, bweeeehhhh!

And it’s not only us who shopped for bags…of course he wouldn’t want to be left behind…he wants to own one of the latest golf bags he found online. So does that make our purchase justified? Tell me!

Crime Scene

Posted by girlie on September 19, 2007

If you watched the latest news about the ambush that happened earlier at around 12:45 in the corner of Makati Avenue and Buendia, I was there! We just finished our lunch and was about to take the jeep to go home when we suddenly heard gunfires. My “angel” thought it was fireworks, lol, yeah fireworks in broad daylight, that’s how it sounded. Then we suddenly saw a man on foot with an armalite or something, it was long, aiming at the 2 vehicles. He looked pretty normal doing the “rambo”, only walking and half running, no panic seen. About 20-25 shots heard, less than 20 seconds, 2 men dead and 2 wounded. It was scary, we didn’t know where to go, we were on the street about to ride the jeepney. We went inside the 1st building we saw. When the police arrived, we went to see the 2 vehicles, victims still inside, we witnessed too when they were loaded into the ambulance. They say it was suppose to be robbery, more than six million pesos was found inside the pickup. I don’t think those bad elements were able to rob them. Sad that nobody was caught, their getaway vehicles were later found abandoned.

P.S. Had a co-passenger in the jeepney who was really cute, muscular, tall, and fair (a hunk in other words), got carried away with the music being played by the driver and started singing “KNIPE, cuts like a KNIPE” harhar TURN OPP!

Spending Time with Dear Lolos and Lolas

Posted by girlie on September 18, 2007

Today we went to the Golden Acres (Home for the Aged) to distribute gifts to the lolos and lolas (grandpas & grandmas). It is my first time to go there, although this is the favorite beneficiary of my FIL. Remember he recently celebrated his 90th birthday, and in lieu of gifts, guests were instead requested to share a cash donation for the beloved elders of the Home for the Aged. A sufficient amount was raised which enabled us to provide towels, face towels, house dresses, shorts, tees, bed covers and slippers to the residents of Golden Acres. We were warmly welcomed, some even gave me a kiss and wanted their pictures taken with me. I was deeply moved by these gestures, surely they miss their families who have abandoned them. Quite sad, but they are better off living there, rather than roaming the streets of the city. I can’t help but wonder, why can some people just abandon their relatives? Are they heartless? I was just overflowing with joy, spending time with these lolos and lolas, they’re very sweet and friendly.

“Jibbitz”

Posted by girlie on September 12, 2007

jibbitz.JPGLookie! I have quite a number of “jibbitz” already. There’s actually 3 original jibbitz which I bought from the crocs store at 150 Php each, 4 from skechers at 75 Php each, and the rest are knockoffs at 3 for 100 Php. There’s actually not much difference at all. I bought the knockoffs from my friend who has a shop in Greenhills, and I guess she gave it to me at a discounted price. Yay! Even my mary jane is hip!

**I got Ish her own set too, and she’s one happy gal!**

Wow! Red!

Posted by girlie on September 11, 2007

I was treated to lunch today by my fave bff Cuz Marie at Bangus, Greenhills. We have not gone out for quite sometime already (like 100 years in my time frame), so when she sms(ed) me last night asking if I wanted to meet with her, I said yes immediately. After lunch, I had my fave coffee fix at starbucks, and of course what’s next to follow? We went window shopping, I was looking for a nice peep toe and at the same time a red biggie bag. I didn’t know that she wanted to buy a red bag too. We were both lucky to find the bags that we wanted, it would have been nice if we got the same, but they only had 1 stock for each. So we ended up buying 2 different ones, almost alike but differs in size, mine is slightly bigger though, after all it’s the BIGGIE red bag I wanted!

Count Your Blessings

Posted by girlie on September 10, 2007

I am very happy with the turn out of my “career”. I have so much blessings to thank the Lord for. Opps keep on coming (as if you didn’t notice, hehe). And the good news is, I have received an email from one of the companies I signed up for, informing me that my posts have been automatically approved based on high quality performance as a Postie. There’s actually 2 more companies who’s been doing that to all the posts I write for them. You see, I’ve been spending time trying to promote adverts to the best that I can, and I have been rewarded. It encourages me all the more to give quality to each sponsored post I do. I know some of you are disappointed seeing lots and lots of adverts, but sometimes these adverts come in handy, it makes us aware of some things around us. I myself have learned a lot from all the information given, and I know I can make use of all these information in the near future.

In My Beautiful Top

Posted by girlie on September 9, 2007

work.JPGRemember the cloth?  Yes it’s the same cloth worn by Ish during her grandpa’s 90th birthday.  I like the color a lot,  so with the bead details, that I bought an extra 2 meters just to have this top sewn.  I wore this yesterday at the two wedding coverages we had.  Everyone said it was pretty.  Just between you and me, I copied the design from one of the top designers from eluxury.com. I am happy how it turned out, just the way it is. Again, I want to thank Larry for making this beautiful top for me, I know you were sort of challenged with the design, and still you were able to execute it even if it was based only on pictures I showed you.

Weird Taste

Posted by girlie on September 7, 2007

page_prodlink_original.jpgN was advised by the family dentist to use Sensodyne because he has sensitive teeth. I used to buy it’s cool mint flavor, but when I saw the original flavor in the shelf, I was fascinated with the color which had a different pink hue. Little did I know that it had a different weird taste. When I flipped the lid, I was excited again because of the color, I just thought it had the refreshing bubble gum taste or something. The moment it landed in my mouth, it was a different story. I nearly vomitted, it tasted a little salty, I can’t explain how weird it tastes really. Now I have to get used to it, no I can’t throw it away and just buy the cool mint flavor. I don’t want it wasted, moolah is hard to come by you know.

Indoor

Posted by girlie on September 6, 2007

bike.JPGThis is what N did to my bike, he converted it temporarily so I can “bike” indoor. I have not been biking at the Mall of Asia for how many months now, since I started taking care of the cooking here at home. Don’t ask me if I’ve used it already, lol. You won’t like my answer. Yes, I am a lazy bum, even forgetting about those weights I bought. But I realized I need to do it. Promise, tomorrow I’m gonna do it. You can check on me, yeah I like that, gives me the motivation to do it. Especially now, that I don’t do anything but sit my butt out in front of the laptop. There are just certain areas in our body that need attention, and I can’t get it all by doing belly dancing. Agree?

Priorities

Posted by girlie on September 5, 2007

I was sitting my butt out in front of the lappy waiting to grab some “bigtime” Opps. Yeah my eyes were really wide open, fingers busy refreshing the page every 5 seconds and soooooo excited. Who does not want to earn moolah anyway? My son came to the room to have his usual massage. And since his dad was already sleeping, he requested me to massage him instead. And I was like, nah, sorry I can’t give you a massage tonight…not tonight baby…Mom’s working! He was quite insistent, but I ignored him just the same. And I said something like, mommy’s gonna earn big time here and I’m gonna give you 100 dollars if I get it. Bad mommy, tsk, tsk. Nope, he was not attracted to the green bucks but said, “Mom, you love me right? Are you not going to give your poor little boy the much needed massage? Are you replacing me with all that money you are talking about?” Ouch! OMG! Oh yeah, I did not think of that. All I was concerned about is grabbing the moolah. I am ashamed of myself, really. I gave him a massage right at that instant. And he was like apologetic for making me miss that chance. Funny how he said, “Never mind Mom, there will be a lot more chance of earning that 1k, but if it would be like 2 million, then suit yourself, go ahead and stay all night waiting for that opportunity.”

You L.I.K.E.?

Posted by girlie on August 30, 2007

Since last week, I have been toying with the idea of having a new look. Yes I feel so bored. I look so plain and ugly. Finally today I had the time to make an appointment at Salon de Manila. Was suppose to have it at 1 in the afternoon, but some things came up. We were to have lunch at Bangus in Greenhills hosted by the eledest brother of N. I asked the salon if they can squeeze me at 4 pm, which they did, YAY!

I actually love my new look, but my SON does not like it at all. When he arrived from school and saw me, there was a quizzical look on his face. Before he could come over and kiss me, he said something like “Mom, it’s not nice. You look like some kontrabida (villain) in one of the soaps in ABS.” There goes my new look, nobody likes it except me =(

I Have It Back!

Posted by girlie on August 29, 2007

Remember the iPod Mini entry I posted two years ago? It’s back! I can use it again, yay! My daughter Ish returned it finally after receiving an iPod Nano, as birthday present. I was actually thinking of buying an iPod Nano from the moolah I earned doing sposored posts, double yay, money still intact! Yes, I have not spent a single cent coz I have not thought of anything to buy except for that iPod thingy. Funny that up until now, I still don’t have anything in mind on what to buy. Save Girl Save!

Feminine Color

Posted by girlie on August 23, 2007

dsc00263.JPGI don’t normally go for bloody red nail polish, but then I thought I could use some color to go with my gown during the birthday celebration of my FIL. So when we went to have our hair done at Salon de Manila, I decided to have my nails done too. Isha was soooo envious and wanted hers done too. But to achieve it, she needed fakies, bwaaaahhh. Anyways, I chose blardy red, at that time I found it sexy. But when I got home, guess who made the 1st comment? It was my son Josh. He said something like, “Hey Mom, I don’t like the color of your nails…you could have used a more feminine color, say “fenk” (pink).” Heehee, that’s how we say pink in this household - “fenk”, and it tickles us “fenk” whenever we say that word!

15th Year

Posted by girlie on August 22, 2007

marryaugusta1.gifIt seemed like only yesterday when I walked down the aisle, August 22, 1992 to be exact, gosh it’s been 15 years…and still counting. Funny how I couldn’t really remember anything that happened on that day except for one thing. While walking down the aisle, I saw empty pews, and I was like, oh no! nobody attended my wedding. And before I know it, the next time I looked, it was almost full. I think I was teary eyed…oh never mind…don’t want to get mushy here ^_^

Anyway, it’s been 15 years! We’ve had our share of ups and downs like everyone else, but i’m glad we’ve survived with God’s wonderful grace. Now we have 2 wonderful kids, Isha and Josh (heehee as if you don’t know), and we are striving on having a God centered happy family. I got 3 red roses from N and I like what he wrote in the card…”I’m very thankful to God because we are now 15 years together. I’m looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you. ‘Til death do us part”.

Excitement!

Posted by girlie on August 13, 2007

Excitement can be felt in this household. On Friday, August 17, 2007, we will be celebrating my father-in-law’s 90th birthday. A man of few words but very generous in love. Nobody believes that he is turning 90, he is very able, very strong and can still walk miles. He is daring! He took the Jurassic Ride with us 2 years ago at Univeral Studios. And would you believe, he supervised everything when we built our house. He is a frustrated architect/engineer. And up to now he still builds, he says that he can’t stay home and do nothing, he feels sick. He feels happy when he’s up and about.

Anyhoo, we (Ish and me) both liked what we will wear on this special occassion. I surfed the net for some design ideas and I’m happy that the couturier was able to make it the way we like it. Thank you Larry.

Ooopsie, Don’t Mind Me

yellow1.jpg I’ve been actually thinking that at age 41 I shouldn’t be dressing up this way. I should be in linen tops and bottoms, hair tied in a bun, but what the heck, this is me! So what if at my age I wanna look like this? IMHO, I can still get away with it…hhhmmmm…

Taken during that stormy day at Trinoma

We were at SOP today!

Posted by girlie on August 5, 2007

sop.JPG It was a last minute decision. Good thing CUZ Marie’s security agency provides security service to GMA and she’s very good friends with the director of the show, the LOUIE IGNACIO, we were able to get inside and watch the show and were given very good seats. I was starstruck nah, more like amused when I saw Regine Velasquez, Jaya, Ogie, and Janno among a few. The legendary Apo Hiking Society is still the best. Billy Crawford is somebody we can be proud of, no wonder he made it big in Europe, he is simply great! We also had a lot of 3-second fame, as the cameraman kept focusing us during the show (as I was even seen reading a text message, we got sms left and right that they saw us on SOP) All I can say is I had a great time, I enjoyed every minute of it!

External Hard Disk

Posted by girlie on August 1, 2007

hardisk.JPGI have learned my lesson well.   Since my laptop crashed, N thought of giving me his old fujitsu hard disk which he hasn’t been using.  It’s quite bulky in its own casing, so he thought of putting it in another case, a generic 250 php ibm case.  I need this badly even though I have 80 gig installed in my laptop.  I don’t like losing all my photos and files anymore.  Yes, that’s what happened when my laptop crashed.  But i’m not that sad though, coz I was able to upload some pix at Flickr and RockYou - thank you!

When Ish found out that her Dad gave it to me, this is what she told her Dad.  “Mom does not need it, she has 80 gig in her laptop.  I need it more coz I have 5 gig left in my Mac.”  Yeah right!  This daughter of mine is fond of “owning” my things, I don’t mind sharing though ^_^  Don’t worry Ish, Dad has some more hard disk he’s not using, he can convert it to your own external hard disk ok?  Don’t get mine, wait for yours…teehee!

Been Busy

Posted by girlie on July 15, 2007

I’ve been busy since Thursday, N had a client call in Makati and since he can’t drive, he asked our driver to bring him there. And that means I am the official chauffeur of the kids. If only there was an internet cafe near the school, then I would have done my usual thing.Friday was spent following up some papers at the Bureau of Internal Revenue, not much work really but traffic sucks. Had to go to post office too to claim a present from my high school classmate (more of this in another entry), then had to hurry home coz I had to take some glamour shots of my high school classmate for a prospective project. Then there’s belly dancing. OMG i’m one superwoman ^_^

Too Tired

Posted by girlie on June 25, 2007

My oh my! I’m very very sleepy! I woke up at 5 in the morning to take care of some things at home. I tried getting back to sleep but I couldn’t. I promised myself to sleep early, but here I am still blogging. I don’t want to pass up the opportunity to write a sponsored post for Smorty (my blog got approved on the same day I signed up, woohoo). Haha, what paid posts can do ^_^ok, time to hit the sack folks, it’s gonna be a great day again tomorrow!

I Survived Days 1&2

Posted by girlie on June 24, 2007

Oh yes! I survived 2 days with only 1 helper at home. I was able to feed my family. Well it’s just the cooking that I need to do though. But planning the menu is never fun. It’s a headache in fact. I all the more appreciate having my angels at home, I can always be relaxed and assured that we have something on the table. I used to complain whenever we eat the same food almost weekly. Now I understand, it’s pretty hard especially if you have limited recipes.

New Color, New Header, No Helper

Posted by girlie on June 23, 2007

Due to toxic/crazy schedules, it took time before I can change my header. I promised myself to change my header at least every month. If you noticed, I haven’t done that for more than two months now. Thank goodness I had the time to do it before my 2 angels went on vacation to attend their town fiesta. They will be back this 3rd of July. Meanwhile, I’ll be the official cook of this house, i’ll be the official yaya (nanny) of my two kids, and I too will be going to school everyday, not to study but to bring them lunch and accompany them to their chinese tutors after class. Gosh, will I have time to blog? Or will I still be awake to blog? This current job will require me to wake up at 5 in the morning…that means I need to stay in bed trying to get some sleep at 10 in the evening. Oh no!

Bits and Pieces

Posted by girlie on June 16, 2007

Finally after a year, I was able to fix my drawer. Not that it’s really messy, but I found a way to accommodate my overflowing tees. The secret is in folding ^_^
We were already out of the shop in Hong Kong when Ish mentioned to me that the sales person was wearing this shirt. I just had to go back, I have to have it by hook or by crook…I’m addicted to blogging, isn’t it obvious?
Got an early birthday present from one of my best friends in college who is now based in San Francisco. Thanks friend!

To my ever loving husband, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO YOU! Same goes to all Dads out there!

I Did It!

Posted by girlie on April 16, 2007

This is the second time I missed watching a Pacman fight on tv, but I tell you it was worth it. We woke up at 5 in the morning to get ready for the Tour of the Fireflies. I don’t normally eat breakfast but this time I did. I followed N’s advise of having cereals, milk and banana. I dressed up to my improvised bike outfit (I can’t find a jersey that fits to a T), put on my helmet and off to Tiendesitas, the starting point. It was overwhelming to see thousands of bikers, all joining for a good cause. We took off a little after 8, everyone as excited as me. We cruised thru C5 all the way to Ayala Ave. We got stuck in the corner of Makati Ave., creating a little traffic to the annoyance of the commuters. Cars started blowing horns, this time to the annoyance of the bikers, and to answer to all those honking, bikers started going wooooooooooo…it was fun =) It turned out there was a water station halfway thru Makati Ave. and Paseo de Roxas. There was just too many bikers to fit the stretch between those streets.

Then we continued cruising, passing thru Buendia all the way to Roxas Blvd. Pitstop was suppose to be at Quirino grandstand, but the trees in Roxas Blvd. was just inviting thus the major pitstop (more like 20 mins). Then we went past Luneta, all the way to Quiapo (gosh I had a hard time, crossing the bridge, it was uphill you know) then passing the whole stretch of Espana. There was another water station, so we stopped for like 10 mins. again. Then proceeded passing E. Rodriguez, turned right at Gilmore. From Gilmore, we went straight to Ortigas Extension. I was really happy when I saw Greenhills, coz it means that we were getting nearer to Tiendesitas, but lo and behold, the group turned left to Santolan. I was thinking hmmmm maybe we’ll take Edsa, indeed we took Edsa, but instead we turned left going all the way to Araneta Center for a turnover ceremony of the newsletter. There I found out that we were about 5,000. From Araneta, we passed by a street which I was not really very familiar with, all the way to Green Meadows. I felt kinda tired and was feeling all the heat when we were nearing Tiendesitas. I shifted my gear coz it was uphill again and was on a relaxed mode. The biker on my right thought that I was giving up and he told me Ma’am we’re almost there, it was very encouraging. Upon reaching the gate in Tiendesitas, we were welcomed by a firetruck, sprinkling water on all the bikers. YES! I DID IT! And I’m GOING to DO it AGAIN!

all tired after the ride
