Movie Junkie

Posted by girlie on March 9, 2009

I have been asking the hubs lately when we can fix or setup our theater room. Goodness it’s been lying there for 3 years now, and we’ve converted it into a storeroom. Nope, I don’t want it to be our storeroom forever, it was not built for that purpose. It was built to hold this plasma stand I saw online. I just wish one day he will decide to fix it, so that whatever movies we miss at the cinema can be watched at home.

A Seat for a Couch Potato

It’s really nice if you have this home theater seating in your own home theaters. Probably you won’t be going to cinemas anymore because you find watching in your own homes more relaxing. It’s like being in a cinema, or even better. With the never ending gas hike, it’s actually better staying at home. It would be a plus though if you are seated in the most comfy chair while watching your favorite movie or soap or game show. Put some popcorn in the microwave, and voila, instant cinema atmosphere! That’s one of my frustrations though, because up until now we have not started setting up our home theater.

Mama Mia and Nebuchadnezzar

Photobucket We watched this film in Promenade tonight. It was hilarious, both Ish and me couldn’t stop laughing, Ish even snorted. Yeah that’s how funny the movie is, well at least for us. Meryl Streep is good. At her age, she is still very pretty and graceful. Ish all the more wants to visit Greece. Greece is lovely and I wanna go with her when she visits. I think that’s on top of her list of the places she wants to see. She wants to meet the gods and goddesses, hehe.

Anyway, did you know that my son would name his kid Nebuchadnezzar? While in the car on our way to the cinema, I don’t know how names of kids popped in. Since they know that all our names (me and my siblings) were derived from the Bible, he said he would pick a bible name too. And the first that came to mind was Nebuchadnezzar. His dad reacted. “He is not good”. Josh replied, “he became good after seven years”. Anyways, that’s how he wants his kid to be called. And when you ask him what he’d name if it was a girl? Rebecchadnezzar! OhMyGoodness…i’ve got a funny kid.

2 Movies in a Day

Posted by girlie on June 6, 2008

Cuz and I wanted to watch Sex and the City together. It took us probably more than a week to fix our schedules. Good thing we were both patient in waiting for the perfect time that we finally were able to watch it last Wednesday. As usual I cried but was too ashamed to show it to her. After the movie, I had stuffy nose because I was trying my best not to let that tear fall (haha stupid me). And all this while she was crying too. I didn’t notice that she was, I was too occupied putting a stop to my own sobs, darn. After the movie, she treated me to dinner at Italiani’s. The shrimp that she ordered was no longer fresh (I can smell it). We asked that the food be changed but they asked us instead to pick another one in the menu. I bet the shrimps they have in stock are no longer fresh. I can’t help but wonder, can they not tell if it’s fresh or not? Just because someone ordered it even if it’s not fresh they have to serve it? Poor quality control I must say. Anyway, they gave us free dessert, for what? I don’t know.

After dinner, I watched another film but this time with the family. I thought I would sleep in this movie thinking that I would probably be tired from watching a film earlier. But I did not, I enjoyed watching The Chronicles of Narnia (Prince Caspian).
