This is what we do every night before Ish goes to bed. In between watching TV, I blow dry her hair. She likes to take a bath at night so she won’t wake up early in the mornings just to get ready for school. And she said something like, “I don’t want to bother you in the mornings Mom, to comb my hair.” Yes, I used to do that every morning before she goes to school. She wants me to style her hair, nah make that fix her hair. She claims that she does not know how to put the clip properly. She claims too that whenever I’m the one putting the clip, her hair stays in place. I’m happy with our bonding time. If my darling boy goes for a massage, then my darling girl goes for a blow dry. Mommy’s special touch is still there, it’s one way of showing my love for my kids.
On our way to Mall of Asia, my daughter saw some kids playing Paintball. She then asked us if we can let her experience play Paintball. Of course we said yes, as much as possible we want them to get involved in sports activities. That is one way of keeping them from so called “temptations.” She has friends who are into it already, so there is really no problem. I know they will enjoy a lot because it’s a fun game. I’ve watched my husband play and I can tell that he enjoyed it pretty much.
But before I can allow my daughter to play, I’ll let her visit this website called your-paintball.com. Everything you need to know about the game is there. They even have videos for you to watch so you can familiarize yourself on how the game works. They have a complete supply of the things you need in order to play like Paintball Guns and Paintball Gear. Of course you should equip yourself first before starting to play.
This is what we did during our break. We took the chance to have our pictures taken. It’s a lovely place and we cannot let the opportunity pass. I enjoyed the bonding I had with my daughter Ish. Memories like this I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. You can see the rest of the pictures here.
My daughter Ish took this picture. Isn’t it lovely? She is indeed the daughter of N. She proudly showed me this picture and a lot more she took in Subic. Now she is asking us to have it printed in 8r so she could have it framed and display in her room. Honestly I like almost all the photos she took. She has the eye, and it needs to be developed more. She only used her Canon point and shoot camera, what more if we gave her the professional one. The funny part, she was asking if she can sell her pictures in Ebay, haha. She even asked me if professional photographers really earn big moolah. Hmmm how should I answer that, if I’d say yes then she might forget her dream of becoming a lawyer.
Darling Doll Ish requested if she could come with us to Subic for a wedding coverage last Saturday. This is the first time that she came with us. She has heard a lot about Subic from her Dad, so that’s probably the reason why she wanted to follow. Ahem, she thought she could go shopping at the free port, but sorry darling we went to Subic for work. Actually we just didn’t have extra time to do that…maybe next time ok? Anyway Ish took these two photos of us working. Quite unglamorous, but who cares, whatever position as long as we will take good quality photos. Btw, she helped in the editing of the video (client requested for an on sight editing). Now she’s demanding for salary. Haha, child labor, better give her salary or else ^_^
My darling daughter has been wanting to wear sunglasses, but the thing is she wears prescription glasses and she can’t see a thing without it. She’s gonna go crazy if I show her these prescription sunglasses I found while surfing the net. These are the type of sunglasses she’d like to have, the ones worn by Hollywood stars! She has been showing me those biggie hip sunglasses she finds in the fashion magazines she buys. Now I don’t need to buy her contact lenses just to be able to wear sunglasses.
A lot of my friends are thinking of letting their children take up Nursing. And why not, this is the in demand career now and one of the highest paying jobs there is. There are just lots of opportunities for graduates of Nursing anywhere in the world. I was asking my daughter if she wants to take up Nursing for college and we are even willing to send her to this School of Nursing if ever she decides. She says she wants to work overseas when the time comes. So we thought, why not send her overseas for college, so we will be able to save, rather than have her enrolled here, and then she has to take some qualifying exams to be able to work overseas. I thought of sending her to that school since I have a relative who stays in that area and he can actually act as guardian. That way we would worry less knowing that someone can look after her.
I often hear Josh call/refer to his sister as “boy magnet”. It’s like when I admire Ish with anything, next the words that will come out of Joshua’s mouth would be “boy magnet”. While we were having lunch awhile back I asked him what “boy magnet” means. And he was like, “Duh! Mommy it’s the things that you do that attracts boys. You know, like how you fix your hair, the clothes that you wear.” I suddenly fixed my hair “Isha Style”, then said, like this Josh? Do I qualify? And he was like… “For the love of …Noooooo, you are already married!” Haha, as if I don’t know that. What’s funny, their Dad reacted, saying “No boy magnet for you, you are married.” DUH!
Wahoo! I’m done with tutoring, 2nd Grading Periodical Test Week is over. It was a very toxic week, I didn’t know how I managed. I always had to wake up early, to prepare lunch meal for the kids, checked the reviewers, tutor the kids after lunch, start preparing for the evening meal, teach them again after dinner. My only time to do sponsored posts was when everyone’s already settled and asleep. It’s so hard to do sponsored posts in between bloghopping. So I always end up sleeping at 2 in the morning.
Friday was a treat for me. I was able to sleep until 10 in the morning. Ahhhh it feels good. In the afternoon, I went to Union Bank to open an eon visa cyber account which has a tie up with paypal. Hopefully all the payments for the sponsored thingy will be credited to this account. Thanks to Rowena, I actually read it in one of her twitter messages. Although I already opened one with Security Bank, I just wasn’t sure if it had a tie up with paypal.
I was able to attend belly dancing class too. I missed 2 sessions already and was happy to be back. We had our bonding moment after class when we had dinner at Tempura with my dancing buddies. Too bad Rica wasn’t able to join us, miss you girlfriend!
There was a time that we really got addicted to slot cars. We would go to specialty shops and buy accessories, even getting the top of the line ones just to ensure a victory whenever my husband would compete. I even remember getting our own race track, we would play with the kids, sometimes betting on who’s gonna win the race. These are times that have brought fondest memories, if I think of it now. We would work as one, trying to complete a new model that has just been bought, putting stickers to make it look cool, oh I miss those times.
When my boy got home from school the other day, this is what he said when he saw me. “Mom, please don’t blog about me anymore.” Apparently, a classmate has been reading my blog. She teased my son about the “tub pictures” she saw in my blog which I posted a year ago. He was embarrassed to the max. And he’s making me delete it. It sucks having to limit yourself to the kinds of posts you will be doing, and I kinda hate it. But then again, I guess it’s time. I have to pick less embarrassing stories to tell about the kids, since they are in this awkward stage.
It sucks big time when I lose connection while doing research for school projects of my kids. I get irritated and frustrated, especially if I needed to do it right away. So my solution was to go to a nearby software store, bought this britannica ^_^. It’s cool, now I don’t need to stress myself whenever I lose connection. The encyclopedia we have over at my mom’s place is already obsolete, and I don’t want to buy new encylopedia, e-encyclopedia(is it called this?) is the in thing right now, and way cheaper. To a smooth-sailing research, yeehaa!
Wake up you sleepy head! The moment we left the house last Saturday, she was comfortably sleeping in the car all the way to our destination. She continued sleeping in the car while we were working. She only woke up to ask where we were eating. Aha, so that’s the reason why she wants to tag along. We used to call her the “ambiance” girl, she eats a lot when we go to fine restaurants ^_^
That’s my girl! She wants to follow wherever we go all the time, even if she’s tired, she’d still go with us. If she sees us dressed, the next thing would be “Where are you guys going? Can I come?” I asked her why she can’t stay put in the house, a quick reply comes “I’m just like Lolo (grandpa), he gets bored when he’s home all the time.” Haha! Good excuse little girl!
Today we went to SM San Lazaro, and when she learned that we were going, “Can I come?” Told her that we would just take the jeepney. I thought she wouldn’t tag along since she’s not into jeepney rides. To my surprise she said, “No problem Mother!” So she came. When we were about to alight, I asked her if she knows what to say, with confidence she told me, “Help! Please stop!” Bwaaaaahhhh, that’s my Miss TagAlong Girl!
Boo! What’s that serious look on your face? ^_^ Shown here is Ish enjoying the Nintendo DS Lite recently given by Lolo and Mama (grandpa & grandma) to Josh. Oh I forgot to mention that they gave Ish a 21-inch sony TV too. Anyhoo, I asked Ish to smile for me when I took this photo. Nah, she can’t, as she’s too engrossed with the game. Today she asked if she could get herself a DS Lite too. Now she has a pink one, and her brother has a white one. Can Mom have a light blue one? Haha, you wish! Well I can always borrow, anyway I’m the one keeping it during schooldays. Here’s to a more relaxing day playing the DS! I need this kind of entertainment, before I snap doing SPs, lol!
I love dressing up my kids when they were younger. I would do my usual rounds at the malls in search of nice comfortable clothes for them. I’d usually pick beautiful and trendy cotton tops for them. I love the feel of cotton, it’s soft and does not cause itching at all. I would dress them up with cute baby clothes, and most often than not, I would hear nice comments from people who see them. They would always compliment what my children are wearing and sometimes they would ask where I buy clothes for them. Now that they are bigger, I still pick trendy and comfortable clothes for them.
I got a new bag again, I don’t know whats with bags that I can’t resist it. I guess every woman wants to own bags in different colors. This is the first time I got a bag in yellow. Isn’t is pretty? Hmmmm….now what color of shoes can I wear with this? A yellow one too? Nah, I don’t like to get a yellow shoe at the moment, too much shopping already, harhar.
This is Isha’s new school bag, when she saw this she went gaga over it. And why not, it’s just a beauty! Baby, can I borrow it some time? We actually share bags, so we don’t really feel guilty when we keep on buying, hehe. The same goes with shoes ^_^ . The nice thing about having a teenage daughter, she loves shopping too, so I’m not alone, bweeeehhhh!
And it’s not only us who shopped for bags…of course he wouldn’t want to be left behind…he wants to own one of the latest golf bags he found online. So does that make our purchase justified? Tell me!
Our driver is still sick. He didn’t come to work since Monday. N’s the one bringing the kids to school in the morning, and I’m the one bringing them food for lunch. No, this time I’m not the one cooking. I just can’t wake up that early anymore to be able to prepare the food. Nights have been spent researching for the Library Research Report of my son, teaching the kids with their assignments, doing sponsored posts, answering emails and a little bloghopping. 24 hours is just not enough. Internet connection has been acting up for the last couple of days too, that I had to wait til one in the morning. Thank God, kids don’t have classes tomorrow in honor of the birthday of Confucious. I’m gonna sit my butt out tonight and try to beat the deadline.
This is what I have been doing while waiting for the kids’ dismissal. I started this a couple of months back and have not touched it really since I started doing paid posts. Haha, I’m almost done with the other cup. The question is, when can I finish it? It’s only when I wait for the kids that I feel like doing it, since there is no internet cafe near the school where I can spend my waiting time. ^_^ I can’t go home either, I need to save on gas, school is like 4-5 kilometer away from our house.
**I think I’ve put on some weight. All we do is eat and eat while waiting for the dismissal. Imagine stuffing my mouth for 8 hrs, yes that’s how long we wait for them. Maybe that’s the reason why I have plenty zits too, I eat too much junk food!**
The kids have been learning this dance routine (hiphop belly) for about two sessions already. They will perform this at the planned dance recital come December. Nothing is final yet, but hopefully it will push through.
I just noticed recently that his voice changed, a little deeper now, no longer a child’s. He’s 11 and in the 6th grade, now more aware of beautiful girls around him. He came home one time, asking me what “on” means. Duh, it’s the opposite of off I tell him. And he was like, duh I know that Mom, I’m referring to the other “on” thing. I actually did not expect the other “on” word. So I made him use it in a sentence. “Mommy, meron ka-”on” yung classmate ko.” Oh, so that’s the “on” word he was talking about. I told him that it’s a word used by pinoy youngsters referring to girlfriend/boyfriend. And his sister explained further. Gasp! my daughter knows more than I expected. Really, maybe I’m just in the denial stage, I still couldn’t quite accept that my kids are growing up real fast. Josh has grown a little taller, and he’s starting to have zits in his face. Oh no! He’s not my baby anymore! But he says, he still is, he does not forget hugging me and planting kisses on my face and with that I am very happy.
The report cards were released the other day, but Josh was not given his, instead I got a “love letter” from his class adviser requesting us to go see the HELE (Home Economics) teacher. So I went to the AV Room yesterday and talked with the teacher. He did not pass 1 project so he got a grade of 0, making his grade in the report card 68, yes for the first time, a red mark. The teacher claimed that she sent a warning slip, to which I asked, how come I did not get any? She showed me the copies but could not provide her duplicate copy of the slip she was suppose to give my son. I really didn’t have time to argue with her as I was in a hurry to leave for a meeting. There will be a PTC tomorrow, and I’m still not resting my case.
Now he can’t be in the top 10, even if his average is 90.4 because of that damn HELE. First time since he started school. I am sad and disappointed, but what can I do?
Ish on the other hand got her report card too. Yep, I’m quite disappointed with her grades too, but encouraged her to concentrate more. It’s hard raising up teenagers, seems like a lot is getting in their way when it comes to their studies, they are not as focused anymore. I don’t like to pressure them either, but at the same time I am disappointed when they fall short of my expectations…what now?
“Who wants to go with me to Serendra?” asked N. 2 hands were raised! Don’t ask who it belonged to…you already know the answer ^_^ We exchanged belly dancing for Serendra, hehe. Hmmmm, we can always dance at home, right Ichiko? We went with N last Friday when he met with one of his clients. We left him at Crispy Kreme, as usual to go shopping err window shopping I mean, well at least for me. And besides I don’t have anything in mind to buy. Remember I’m saving my earnings from sponsored writing for something “big”. I just wanted to chill out on a friday night.
But Ish had a different agenda. She wanted to buy a new comb and was thinking of Club Princess. Since my beauty and dancing buddy Rica gifted her with something from that store, it became an instant favorite of hers. Nah, she didn’t find the comb she was looking for, instead she bought a necklace and a cologne. I’m touched that she also bought me a cologne. She said that she saved some of her allowance from the previous weeks to be able to get me something. But she had a punchline though. “Mom, when you get your moolah from all that sponsored writing, it’s your turn to by me a watch from Club Princess, bwaaaaahhhh.
Note: I took that picture while waiting for the reception from our wedding coverage yesterday, what boredom can do really ^_^
She asked me if she can have a pre-birthday celebration with her fellow scouts. So a day before her birthday, we accompanied her to Trinoma, the mall they chose. I ordered pizza for them at Yellow Cab, then treated them to a movie (Hairspray). We gave them a little time to play at Time Zone too.
This happened at the eve of her birthday. I asked the little boy to give his sister a big, big kiss. He was really teasing his sister, (you should have seen him wet his lips) thus the picture.
Our eldest daughter Isha who’s turning 14 on the 28th asked permission from us if she could chill out with her friends at the Power Plant. We dread for this day to come, really! We’ve been talking about this, and we can’t accept the fact that our lil girl has already grown. Well we permitted her of course, and it has always been the rule that she can’t go with her friends without us in tow or her nanny. It’s not that we don’t trust her, but more for her safety and security. Times are hard nowadays, and we just feel that at a young age, she can’t still handle it.
So what do we do while waiting for her? We had our own bonding time too, had coffee and pastries at UCC. We talked about our kids, how they’ve grown in so little time, ways on how to handle them, etc.
