I was spending way too much time browsing the internet when I chanced upon this website which made me realize what I lack in our home. In the early years of my marriage, I’ve been discussing with the husband and convincing him that we need some dressing tables at home. I grew up in a home where I was used to seeing these dressers as how my Mom would call it. Apparently in their household, they never owned one. So I understand if this is not his priority, and I too forgot about it until recently. I have an 18 year old and I see that part of her wish list is to own a vanity table. I think it’s about time that I tell the husband that it’s really needed.

Didn’t really intend to buy. We didn’t know that they had a 3-day sale. No wonder parking was full which wasn’t usual. Anyway, after church we headed to F21 to check what was going on. Ish got herself 2 dresses and a skirt. Got myself a dress too which was only P309, can’t believe it. Now what about the couch? It was the daughter who wanted to see home stuff particularly couches. Probably she had something cooking up, and true enough she wanted a couch for her room. I told her that I’m gonna buy it provided she gives up all her “friends”. She has loads from the time she was a little girl. I even gave away a lot already. Anyway, back to the couch. She decided on a 3 color combinanation, chocolate brown, matte apple green and orange. Hope it turns out nice. I’ll take a photo once it’s delivered in a week’s time.

I was really surprised to see some veggies growing on my pots. No, I didn’t plant them and I don’t remember asking any of my household help to plant either. It turned out that one of them did it and what a green thumb she is. She deserves some gardening tools so that she won’t use her bare hands when she starts to plant again. Now I am asking her to plant some more so that when I need herbs for my cooking I don’t need to go to the market anymore.

I often envy my sisters when they do grill parties at their backyards. I always see it as a scene taken from a certain movie. I always secretly wish that I can be there (USA) and host my own outdoor grill party. That would be wonderful, right? This post only shows how much I want to move to the US. Yes, given the chance I’d like to live there. A small house will do, but I want a bigger backyard where I can host such parties. I’m now dreaming of putting an outdoor firepit so that even on cold months like the fall perhaps, I can still continue staying and just have a good time outdoors.

If you are doing a kitchen project, may I suggest that you take a look at these stainless steel kitchen sinks. I already see a lot of these at my friend’s houses. I find a common reason why most of my friends use stainless, they go for durability. Well aside from that, price is also a consideration. This is a very affordable stainless steel kitchen sink, in fact I too was amazed when I browsed through their website. What I have now in my kitchen is the double bowl sink, but I’m thinking of shifting to a 3-bowl sink in the future. I don’t have plans of doing a kitchen renovation soon, but I have instilled in my mind that it would be the 3-bowl sink that I will be using.

I’m proud of my kitchen. Oh please don’t judge me, but I’m really happy on the outcome of my kitchen project. I made sure that my specifications were followed, after all I’m going to be the queen in that area of the house. I had a hand in picking everything that was used there and I actually used one of these undermount kitchen sinks. So far I am happy with my choice. It’s the right size and it works well with my kitchen requirement. I am kinda particular when it comes to kitchen stuff. I always want to be inspired when I work in my kitchen. In my next kitchen renovation, I think I’d change my existing sink to this undermount kitchen sink. I want a triple bowl this time.

I visited a condo unit very recently. I can’t help but notice how cozy it was. It actually made me want to live in that beautiful place. I think I got attracted to the wooden floors. Even before, I have come to like it. It’s probably because I grew up in a house with nice shiny wooden floors. Now I can’t help but wish, hoping that we can make use of pergo flooring. It’s actually similar to what we had when I was a kid. I can probably start with the bedrooms and who knows I can make the husband agree to have the entire house use it. Ahhh, I will be waiting for that day!

Whenever I am in the kitchen to cook, the first thing I check is our petroleum hose. It’s no joke trying to work in the kitchen and all of a sudden accidents occur. So before all this happens I do a check. When I am not the one working in the kitchen and I smell something, I immediately call the attention of the person. I ask her to turn off the gas right away and check on the tank and the hose. It’s better to be safe than sorry all the time. Let us always do our part so no accidents can happen, it can be avoided you know.

My daughter and I went to S&R yesterday to buy stuff that are not seen in the regular grocery that we go to. Yeah there are items that can be bought only at S&R like the salt that I use and some other stuff. We went through every aisle and that’s where I found that cutting board. I was already checking on it and was planning on buying it but when I saw the price (P1,999), my my I can’t afford it. I placed it back on the rack with a heavy heart. I told myself to save up so that on my next trip to S&R, I will be able to buy it. Oh there was another product by Kitchenaid that I wanted to buy, but just the same it was way beyond my budget.

Wow! Nice! Those were the two words I said when the husband brought that painting home. It’s actually the very first painting we have. It was given to him by his client for the photography service he rendered him. I guess I am not allowed to say the name of the artist, but he is quite well known here.

I am getting really curious now. Someone has been talking a lot about the new mattress that she bought. She says it’s super comfortable, and it gives her a very relax sleep. I wonder if it’s one of these mattresses she is talking about. I think she bought the memory foam. Now I am starting to believe that indeed this memory foam comfortable to sleep in. The reviews I’ve read is supported by one of my relatives, so I guess it’s really good.

I’m thinking of doing a bit of redecorating after the holidays. I’ll start with our guest room. No, I am not expecting someone to come and stay over, it’s just that I have an idea going on in my mind for quite some time already. I’d like to put this bathroom vanity and probably use it to stock up on towels. This would make a beautiful accent to the bathroom as well. I’m starting to like wood, big and small pieces. It adds a special touch to a boring room.

MIL reminded me yesterday about my plan of upgrading the christmas lights I have at home. She said that there is no other time but now since Christmas is just around the corner. I forgot to mention to her that I am looking into buying these C6 led christmas lights. Based on the explanation of the husband on how he’s going to set it up, these lights that I’ve just mentioned is the perfect one. He wants to have different colors per section. I am already excited about the outcome. It’s gonna be outdoors and I know a lot of people will again admire it. Hopefully these lights I am getting now is durable. It said that the bulbs are break resistant and it provides outstanding energy efficiency, just what I need. As you all know we celebrate Christmas the longest.

We’ve been buying our water from the water refilling stores. Now it makes me think, why don’t I get my own water filter? I think having my own will allow me to save, plus the fact that I can be sure that the water I drink is clean. The water is filtered alright, but I can’t be too sure about the handling of the boys in the water refilling station. Do they really clean the containers well. Do they really filter the water before they sell it? Actually they are the ones who only know so it’s quite scary already. I think it’s better if I get my own.

If there’s one thing I made sure when we built this house was to put this kind of cabinet locks. I don’t want to go through what happened to us a few years back. We were too trusting and we didn’t put cabinet locks. Some jewelry were stolen, money was stolen, and some other things that I don’t like to find out anymore were stolen too. It was done by one of our helpers, and yes I didn’t see her capable of doing it. She was like an angel but deep inside she was the exact opposite. Good thing I found out earlier so not much damage was really done. At least she was not able to steal everything we owned.

It’s been a dream of mine to have a beautiful bathroom. I grew up in a house with a very simple bathroom. I find it simple now because there were new styles that came out which I find very modern, not that it’s not simple. Anyway part of the dream bathroom is one of these glass sinks. I’m glad I made the right choice. It made my bathroom even more beautiful, thus making it the bathroom that I liked to have. When I was looking for some bathroom designs, I thought the things that I saw was beyond my budget. Little did I know that it was actually affordable provided you know where to look for it. It just amazes me that we were able to make my dream bathroom even with a budget that we had to work around.

It’s getting scarier and scarier each day. Seems like it’s not as safe to live in this world anymore. You see it in the news, people talk about it, you hear it on the radio. Thieves break in, and they are not scared. Now are you prepared? That’s one thing I always make sure. I use deadbolt lock so that it’s not as easy to break in. Sometimes it is our own doing why thieves can break in. Let us do our part and make our houses secure. Don’t you want to have a good night’s rest not worrying about someone breaking in? Then it’s about time that you take care of your locks at home.

What happens when you don’t get enough sleep? I get cranky, really really cranky. Well that seldom happens though because the moment my back touches the mattress, off to dreamland I go. Yes I am very particular with the mattress I sleep on because I don’t want to experience back aches. That’s what I hate most. Imagine you don’t get enough sleep plus aches all over, my oh my I don’t know if you can still talk to me. I guess we all want a comfortable sleep and as much as possible we follow the specifications we have in mind when it comes to the bedroom.

The most part I enjoyed when we were building our house was designing the closet. It was a challenge, a bit hard. But you know what, it was actually more fun than I thought. I got some ideas from Closet Organizers. Much as I want to order from them it was just impossible, we live thousands of miles away from them. I am thankful though that they were really a big help, my closet and all the closets here at home are very pretty.
Now why am I sharing this? You too can get help from them. They have a step by step guide to follow and the result would be your virtual closet. At least you will have an idea on how it will look like once the carpenters are done with it.

When someone gets sick I am always reminded to purchase a medicine cabinet. That’s what I overlooked when we moved in. I don’t know but I keep forgetting. It’s probably because I couldn’t find a cabinet to my liking. I am hoping to find something like this Robern Medicine cabinet because it matches with my other furniture and fixtures at home. With the design I found, I am planning to put it in the toilet since it would blend in with the other stuff. I will have to make this to a project because if not the next time you ask me, I still haven’t gotten any.

I love everything about the house, but please don’t get me wrong. We are blessed because we live in a very nice house but it wouldn’t hurt to ask for one more thing, right? My closest friends know that I really want to have a garden, or a place outdoor where I could lounge around in quiet afternoons. I would always envy my friends especially those living in the US when I see photos of them doing bbq on their outdoor electric grill. I enjoy looking at photos of them enjoying an outdoor bbq party with friends. That’s actually my idea of a fun afternoon with friends. I would often mention to the husband that I would want to retire in a place that I can tend to my own garden, probably grow my own veggies and all. Anything outdoor is always a welcome treat to me.

I was with my sister a few days back. She came home for a vacation. Too bad she stayed only for a week but at least we got to spend time with her and that’s not so bad. Thing is, we all miss her already. Her trip is normally short and I don’t know why we can’t get used to that idea. There are a lot of things I wanted to ask her but didn’t have the time to do it. There’s always FB or YM or text messages, yeah I know but nothing beats talking to her face to face. I forgot to ask her if her furnace is working fine. She just transferred to her old house and Mom mentioned that she had one. Hopefully she was able to fix it and was able to find furnace filters. She needs to stock on this, her family is prone to allergies. Oh I need to remind her about changing filters too, she’s complaining about her bill and this should help lessen the bill.

They were all fast asleep, probably too tired to hear something even the bark of the dog. When they woke up the following morning, news spread that someone tried to break in. Apparently one of the neighbors saw it. The guy was clad in a black outfit with a matching black bonnet covering his face. No one had a clue to who it was. Scary isn’t it? Do you want to experience that some day? Nah, before that happens I will have a security camera installed. It’s hard to sleep at night knowing that someone attempted to break in. This can happen you know, I hear a lot of those stories in the news. It becomes horror stories when they finally break in. Will you wait for this thing to happen? Scary isn’t it?

My sister has really been stressed out lately. That is because she is moving to a new place. I can say that she did the move all by herself literally. Well my other sister lives near her place but she has work to attend to. So basically it’s just my sister. Now I really don’t know if she remembered changing the furnace filter in her new home. She mentioned it to me when I called her a couple of weeks back. I think the former owner has not been using the furnace so I think it needs some attention. Will check if she did since it gets really cold during this time.
I wish to visit her someday in her new house. When I was there in 2005, I stayed with her but at her apartment. She wasn’t a homeowner just yet. I am really excited for her now, I know she has lots and lots of plans on how to make her house even more beautiful.

When I go to home stores, one section I love going to is the rug section. I always check them out to see if the one I like is not sold yet. Haha el cheapo you might say, but hey that wouldn’t happen if I’m rich. Anyway I want to show you the area rugs that I so love. Now you would understand why I keep on checking to see if it’s still available. There is actually more than one that I like, and here’s hoping that I’d get it soon than I expect. My house need those rugs!
