Afternoon Tea

Posted by girlie on August 31, 2010

If you really know me, by now you know that I love drinking tea. I have it every night before I go to bed. If I can have afternoon tea with friends, I’d do that and I can even host one. But the thing is we are not used to having this afternoon tea dates. I can start a trend, I think most Moms would love doing that especially those who are just staying at home. I can start off by serving my favorite tea. It’s been a favorite of mine since I started loving tea. Now you know what to give me on Christmas *wink! Yeah, come to think of it, it would make a wonderful gift idea, together with a fruit cake. I’d be happy to receive one especially with these two combo. Imagine having your friends come over for tea and fruit cake, ah pure bliss. This would also make a good gift idea for those persons whom you are having a hard time picking presents for them. They would gladly appreciate it. In my opinion, I’d rather receive these kinds of gifts, Christmas crackers included rather than receiving things that I can’t use. This is one of the “safest” gifts one person can think of especially if you don’t have any idea what to give.

Personalized Stuff

My daughter’s birthday is coming up very soon. I wonder what she wants. Knowing teenagers nowadays, they prefer personalized gift. I am not a teenager obviously (heh) but I too love receiving that kind of gift. It makes me feel all the more loved because the person who gave it really made a effort in choosing what to give you. Looking for a present in itself is pretty hard especially if the one you’re giving the gift too has everything. I have a lot of friends who are materially blessed, and the personalized gifts that I have been giving them never fails to paint a smile on their face.

Baby Shower Gift Ideas

Posted by girlie on April 16, 2010

Imagine that your wife is pregnant with your second child and you’re planning on throwing her a baby shower because at the first one she received some great gifts like a couple Lovies, a bunch of bibs and even some of those cool trumpette socks, among other things. So you think it would be cool toyou’re your second child the same jump start on necessities that your first child got.
Tubbies, lovies, burp cloths, bibs, blankets and boppy pillows are all things that new babies need to feel comfortable. So are pacifiers and sippy cups. Toys and necessities are great, but everyone seems to give the same thing.
The key is to get creative, fashion baby wash cloths or burp cloths into flowers. Rolling the burp cloth lengthwise, somewhat loosely, will create the look of a rose or flower. Folding the very last corner of the rolled burp cloth end back a little will create a rose petal shape. Making a fold in the middle of the rolled burp cloth makes two flowers. Holding two floral wires against the flowers, floral tape is wrapped around each flower and across the “U” shape of the rolled burp cloth to join the flowers together at the base. This will secure the flowers and floral wire.
Then you can utilize a pair of baby socks to create roses by tightly rolling the socks from the toe. Once you have reached the end of the sock, fold the opening back on itself to create the outer petal of the rosebud. Take care not to cause any damage in this next step, as you insert a piece of floral wire is into the center of the baby sock. Finally, wrap the bottom of the baby sock rosebud with green sticky floral tape to hold the rosebud and wire in place.

Personalized Books are Awesome

Posted by girlie on January 14, 2009

I love this website I came across with. Their personalized books are awesome! I want to order some for the upcoming birthday of my godchild. I really appreciate something personalized, how much more kids. They would be delighted to receive personalized books with their names written on it. This is a good way to start kids on reading. As much as possible, I’d love to give books as gifts, so at an early age kids will be introduced to reading books. There are a lot of benefits if kids start enjoying books at a young age. I can tell because I have a kid who is a bookworm.

Gift Ideas for the Holidays

Posted by girlie on December 21, 2008

If someone asks you what gift you want to receive this Christmas, what would your answer be? Sometimes it’s hard to tell people what you really want, but in my case I tell them what I want. Normally is something that I would need. I’d rather receive a gift that I can make use of, rather than receiving something that would just collect dusts. Let’s face it, there are just presents that are not that useful. I hate to think that this person is giving just for the sake of giving. Not that I am not thankful, it’s just that I find it a waste of money. If you run out of gift ideas to give to a person or to your clients maybe, I suggest that you give this personalized holiday gifts. This I’m sure will be put to good use. I love receiving personalized gifts, because it makes me feel important. It’s like this person really went out of his way to get me something. The photo below is just an idea of what to give this Christmas.  What do you think?  Isn’t it a good idea to give those as your company giveaway?  It’s nice to give these personalized gift items to our friends and loved ones.  Personally I’d love to receive a thumb drive…ooops… I almost forgot that I got one myself last week.

My Love for Jerseys

Posted by girlie on December 9, 2008

Photobucket This would make a great Christmas present, well at least for me. Do you want to know why? I love seeing kids in NFL jerseys or any jersey for that matter. Whenever I see one, I always take a second look. I don’t know why I get fascinated with jerseys. I remember it starting at a young age. I was more into baseball and softball though, and I remember playing in the elementary grades. Nope I didn’t get to wear a jersey but very much wanted to. My Mom at that time just didn’t know where to buy. The fascination didn’t stop there. I don’t know if it became an obsession but whenever I get the chance to watch a game, I would definitely buy a jersey. I actually own one right now, which I bought when I had the chance to watch a game in the US. I don’t wear it often, maybe too scared that it would wear off right away, yeah that’s how I love my jersey.  Anyways, if you run out of gift ideas, I guess every child would be happy to receive a jersey on Christmas, especially it it’s their favorite team.  I see a lot of kids wear them, some to show off that they are great fans, some wear it to their games, and some even wear it as costumes on Halloween.
