Better Get it NOW!

Posted by girlie on May 30, 2009

Photobucket I swear, I don’t want to be in this situation again. Nope it’s not swine flu, otherwise you won’t be seeing the laptop there and I can’t go on with my online activities. It’s scary but we can help it. There are a number of things one can do to avoid getting it or the human flu for that matter. I know what to do and I am confident because I am protected.   Oh that photo? It happened late last year, yeah in the month of December when a lot of things are going on, you know celebrations here and there.  I missed a lot, good food, good company, beautiful memories with people I dearly love, all because I was down with a Flu. I was angry at myself because I knew all along that this can be avoided. My husband has been reminding me to get my Flu vaccine but I was too lazy to go and see our doctor, probably because I was doing a lot of things at that time. Sometimes we take this forgranted. We dismiss it as ordinary cough or merely fever. But did you know that flu can get deadly? Yeah I am not kidding. You can visit http://www.bakuna.ph to know more about it. Better yet, get yourselves vaccinated if you don’t want to end in bed just like me. Not in the month of December, or any month for that matter that you had to miss something grand just because you are down with a flu. I had my Vaxigrip “Bakuna” in the month of January and I’m glad I’m now protected. I will not be caught in the situation you see in the photo above since getting the flu vaccine helped build my immune system. Now will this keep me protected from swine flu too? My answer is no BUT since my immune system is strong, I’d like to believe that I won’t easily catch it. Thanks to sanofi Pasteur’s Flu Awareness Campaign, more people are now aware that they need to get Flu vaccine every year.

Photobucket A tip from my daughter…when you are sick, it makes you feel a little better when you wear fluffy slippers. I don’t know where she got it from, but I think she’s kinda right. I wore fluffy sleepers on that day and I felt a little better…haha coincidence or what?

Are You Protected from FLU?

A couple of days back, I wrote something about getting our Vaxigrip Flu vaccine. I got all positive responses. Most of those who responded really saw the importance of getting this Flu vaccine every year. If you only know what’s gonna happen if you don’t get this vaccine. Some people I know dismiss it as a simple case of flu. Let me tell you that flu can get deadly. This is totally different from having colds or cough or fever. A lot of complications can stem from this. Before these complications happen, let us do our share. What is a small amount compared to hospital bills? What is a small amount compared to losing someone in the family? You get my point? Do not be like those people who just shrug at the idea of having flu. You do not know what’s going to happen next. It’s not everyday that you are in the pink of health to be able to resist the virus. The only way to avoid getting the flu virus is having yourself vaccinated.

I am so thankful that I really attended the seminar given by sanofi Pasteur. It made me aware of a lot of things, plus the fact that I am now convinced that everyone in my household should get their shots yearly. Let me ask you, ikaw ba ay Bakunado na? (Did you have your flu vaccine already?) Kung hindi ka pa talaga convince na kailangan mo ito taon-taon, basahin mo ang mga nakatalang facts dito sa http://www.bakuna.ph, ewan ko nalang sayo kung di ka pa magpapabakuna. (If you are still not convinced that this should be a yearly thing, please read some facts over at http://www.bakuna.ph. Be informed, be updated, and the most important thing be PROTECTED!

We Got Our Shots : 47th Weekend Snaphot

I got invited by Nuffnang Philippines in cooperation with Sanofi Pasteur to attend their Flu Vaccine Awareness Seminar last Saturday, January 24, 2009. More than the free vaccine me and my daughter got, I was glad I attended. I actually learned a lot, I thought flu was just flu and nothing more, never thought that it could get deadly. This is actually my first time getting a flu shot, but not for my daughter. I’ll be sharing with you some photos I took.

Photobucket It is indeed very important to get yourselves vaccinated. I learned that a lot of complications can arise from flu. So before those complications happen, avoid getting sick with influenza, go get the flu vaccine now.

Photobucket The short awareness seminar was conducted by the Medical Director of Sanofi Pasteur, Dr. Ruby Mendoza-Dizon.

Photobucket If you fall under these categories, it’s best that you get vaccinated.  I think everyone should get one.  It’s still cheaper getting  yourselves vaccinated, than getting a flu that will eventually lead to complications if not well taken cared of.

Photobucket Let us be aware of the symptoms of flu. Normally we just dismiss it as an ordinary cold, and yeah I am guilty of this.

Photobucket Here is the free flu vaccine we got. Thanks Nuffnang and Sanofi Pasteur.

Photobucket Ish getting her shot. Ah my girl has grown, she isn’t scared of the needle anymore.
