I Wanna Do Zumba

Posted by girlie on March 6, 2010

I’ve been watching a lot of Zumba vid on youtube. Actually I want to order a DVD, all four from beginner to advance. But I’m having second thoughts, I’m the lazy type and I’m good only on the first few days. Eventually those DVDs would collect dusts, just like what happened to my belly dancing DVDs. Oh well, I’m learning my lesson the hard way.

When I went to my aerobics class yesterday, I asked our instructor if he knows how to do Zumba. Luckily he does. I didn’t expect that he’d include it in the class yesterday. I only asked if he knew. I feel a little sad because two of the students “walked out”. I don’t think they liked the idea of doing Zumba instead of the regular step aerobics. I don’t know but it felt weird when they went home. I had to tell the instructor that he has to ask the people in the counter first if he can include it. I am really hoping that we’d do Zumba even for 30 minutes. Aerobics class is 2 hours for me.

Woohoo

Posted by girlie on January 28, 2010

Attended aerobics class last night. To my surprise I was able to catch up with the routine. I can now blend with the other students. I was really slow before, my feet entangled coz I can’t do it. I was slow. But after 7 sessions, woohoo I did it! I’m more in love with aerobics now. I made friends too!

A Steal!

Posted by girlie on January 22, 2010

Photobucket I bought that at 50% off, what a steal! I need something like that for my aerobics class. That is actually made for tennis, but I guess that will do at the moment and that’s what I can afford. Will I save up for another one? I don’t think so. I used it twice already and it feels comfortable. As long as I’m comfortable with it why bother getting a newer style. If I had lots of moolah then I would, but then again I should start learning how to spend wisely.

Diet and Exercise

Posted by girlie on January 15, 2010

I was doing good with the treadmill for a while until I got really disappointed that nothing was happening to my body. I didn’t even lose weight even if I run like 1 hour every other day. I do a little exercise in between too. Now I have enrolled myself to aerobics, hope it does good. If not maybe I’ll consider this quick trim diet. They say that it’s more effective if you combine exercise with diet. I think so too, but you see I’m still working on the diet part. Hopefully in time I can do both. It’s for my own good I know, and it’s for your own good too. Why don’t you start with a fitness regimen today? I’m sure that is part of your New Year’s resolution.

On with Dancing

Posted by girlie on

Many of you probably know that I quit belly dancing in June. For some personal reasons, I couldn’t get myself to attend my most fave fitness thingy. Now you know why I put on weight. I think part of it is because I didn’t do any fitness routine. Gone are those days now. I finally took the initiative to enroll myself in the gym doing aerobic exercises. On Wednesdays, we do Hi Lo and Hip Hop, on Fridays we do Hi Lo and Dance with a bit of yin yoga. I’m still not decided whether I enroll in the unlimited program next month.

Seriously…

Posted by girlie on November 27, 2009

Photobucket I really need to do it! Not lose weight though but work on my bulging abs. A lot say that I look better with my weight now. Haha like since when can someone look good after putting in 17 lbs.? Yep, to date I already gained 17 pounds and this time it’s really alarming if I don’t put a stop to this pacman like mouth. If I can exercise a little each day, I’d really really do it. So there this afternoon I did a little fitness thingy and hopefully tomorrow I won’t get lazy.

Big Arms!

Posted by girlie on October 5, 2009

I visited Mom yesterday. We actually had lunch there as usual. That is our routine every Sunday. We go to church first, then have lunch at their place, then dinner at the in-laws. Anyways, Mom told me over lunch that I had big arms. And she even asked if this was my heaviest, coz she thinks it is. I hate to admit but she is right. I am at my heaviest right now and I am getting frustrated already. I need to look up what kind of fat burners are really working. Yeah I exercise too but not regularly in fact I started yesterday again after not doing it for 2 months. I hope to keep my fitness thingy unless I want to turn to something I would really hate.

Fitness Ball!

Posted by girlie on July 24, 2009

I’m gonna try and do this. I said, just try, who knows I won’t find it hard. Yep I just purchased my first fitness ball, I actually don’t have any idea on how to use it. I went to youtube, good thing Tammy ( I love her) has an exercise using a fitness ball. I find it hard but will try my best. I will let you know if it’s going to be a success! If not I’m going to look for more exercises (easy ones) involving a fitness ball.

Do Something!

Posted by girlie on May 23, 2009

My abs section is my problem right now. Well it has been a problem ever since but moreso now. Maybe all of you have noticed that I put on some weight, and I just hate it that it went to the wrong places, if you know what I mean. Nope I don’t exercise everyday, I am just too way lazy. Crazy me I know, but people who play Pet Society and Restaurant City would understand, LOL.

But NO! Even if I added another FB account solely for playing I promised myself not to get hooked, duh! Thank God I will be back to belly dancing on Monday. It helps I must admit. I didn’t dance for 2 months already since my teacher gave birth. But I am just happy that we will start again come Monday.

I Can Be a Pig Sometimes

Posted by girlie on January 16, 2009

I’ve been telling my friends that I need to do something about this bloated feeling. Yeah I am kinda lazy to exercise these days, blame it to the cold and chilly weather. I just like to stay in bed. And yeah I have been busy too, it’s the time of the year where every renewals are to be made. Sometimes I want to resort to one of the best diet pills already because I don’t want this bloated feeling. If I don’t do something about it, probably I’ll be heavy in no time and I don’t like that to happen.

Space Saver Treadmill

Posted by girlie on December 5, 2008

It’s worth buying a treadmill for home use. I hate going to the gym, I hate to say I’m lazy, but yes I am. The fact that I have to drive all the way to the gym makes me want to forget getting on the treadmill, much more to exercise. Now that we have one at home, I don’t have any reason not to use it. We actually bought it for our boy who prefers not to do any physical activities. All he wants is play computer games. Now we can let him use it anytime, but since class has started we can’t make him use it everyday. Weekends maybe, but not regularly too. If any of you wants to buy a treadmill, why not take a look at these treadmills. Pick the one that suits your budget. They have a huge sale ongoing right now, and this is just the proper time to buy one. Huge sale equals great savings.

Shoes Made for Dancing

Posted by girlie on November 12, 2008

Photobucket I’d love to have this character shoes when I go dancing. Not that I go clubbing every night ^_^ but as many of you know by now, dancing is my form of exercise. I dance twice a week. I have my dancing shoes though, but I feel it’s gonna “die” on me anytime soon. Yep, I only have a pair and you can just imagine how old it looks now, and really really worn out. I love dancing in heels, a 3-in. one. Dancing moves become quite sexy. I am not kidding, it sort of gives a different kind of sway. I used to wear sneakers or ballet shoes when I dance. But when I discovered that dancing in heels is cool and nice to look at, I think I now prefer dancing in heels. No, you don’t dance with just any kind of shoes, unless you want to get injured. There’s a special shoes made for dancing. It’s really comfortable and very light. Sometimes I don’t feel like I have shoes on. And you know what? Since my dancing shoes is really beautiful, I’ve been attempting to wear it outside the dance floor. Upon the advice of my teacher, she said that dancing shoes are not made for walking. Darn! So there, remember wear dancing shoes when you are in the dance floor, and don’t forget to change into something else when you are out of the dance floor, otherwise you are going to hurt yourself.

I Got Shocked with my Shox!

Posted by girlie on October 21, 2008

Photobucket Oh no! Can I still fix this? Are you wondering how it happened? I used that on my first try with hiphop abs. I haven’t worn that shoes in ages…poor storage probably that’s why it fell apart. What sucked big time was I was almost done with the routine…it was cool down already (panira talaga ng momentum, asar). I think it’s time to buy a new one, or lemme check if I’ll feel comfortable with my other running shoes. Maybe tomorrow, I still didn’t do any exercise since the week started. I wasn’t able to dance yesterday (Monday) because of headache and muscle sore from the Puerto Galera trip. Yeah I need to dance tomorrow so I’ll feel good.

Treadmill and DVD

Posted by girlie on July 23, 2008

Photobucket I decided to be really serious when it comes to my workout. I’ve been really lazy lately, well except for my twice a week belly dancing class which I look forward to. But I feel that it’s still lacking. I need to exercise (cardio) more. The treadmill is just sitting in the corner of the house unused. Yesterday I walked for about 30 minutes at a speed of 2.7. I couldn’t go any faster since I was watching a belly dancing DVD. Not a good combination coz I wanted to dance with Nina and Veena, lol. Tell me can you do belly dancing while on the treadmill? Anyways, after my 30-minute walk, I followed the instructional vid of Nina and Veena which concentrated on the hips, buns and thighs. Again for another 30 minutes. So total workout yesterday was an hour. Today I’m sitting it out in the computer blogging. Can’t do cardio everyday you know, well that’s what my trainer said before.

Boring No More

Posted by girlie on May 30, 2008

Photobucket Remember this entry? He is still lazy to use it, he says it’s boring. He has a point, coz I find it boring too. So I thought of a way, why not put a television set with DVD player so that you won’t notice the time while walking or running? True enough, he walked for 45 minutes, I didn’t hear a single word, just chuckles in between because of the movie he was watching (white chicks). For a 12 year old lazy butted kid (i hope he does not read this, lol) 45 minutes is quite an achievement. Oh he already lost 5 lbs., that’s from the exercise and the salad I feed him once in a while.

Diet Pills Reviews

Posted by girlie on May 26, 2008

This is for everyone who wants to have a vavavooom body. I know some of you resort to taking diet pills. Why don’t you read some diet pills reviews first before deciding what to take. I feel that this is really important, not only with diet pills but with every product we purchase. I already made this a habit. Every time I like something, I look for product reviews first to know more about the product. Most often than not, product reviews play a major role in my decision to purchase anything. Sometimes it is my deciding factor. So far so good.

Skate Shoes

Posted by girlie on May 21, 2008

Just the other day in the car, we talked about the things we did when we were younger. My son found out a lot about his Dad, that he even wants to have a shirt printed. Guess what? “My Dad is really cool and I didn’t know!” They were even surprised that their Dad knows how to go skateboarding. I told them too that I tried skateboard and roller skates. “Cool,” they said in unison. Ish my daughter wants me to teach her how to ride the skateboard. I looked online for a skateboard, and guess what I found? I found skate shoes instead. I didn’t know that there is a special shoes for skateboarding. I can ride the skateboard with only my slippers on, well maybe because I just did it for fun. But if you take skateboarding seriously, you should be using the proper gear for it.

Walk/Run!

Posted by girlie on May 15, 2008

Photobucket We have no reason not to exercise anymore. N has always been asking me to go biking with him everyday, but everytime he asks me, I always turn him down. Blame it on the Obagi system I am using since December, it keeps me away from the sun. N feels like we don’t have enough exercise (even if I go belly dancing twice a week), especially my son who does nothing but sit in front of his laptop every single day. He is actually the reason why we bought that treadmill. Now we exercise together, him on the treadmill and me on the bike/stepper. He runs a kilometer, while I do mine about 30 minutes. We want him to run at least 3 kms. in a day, but since he is not yet used to it, we are giving him an allowance for that. Maybe we’d do it gradually. 1 km on the first week until he reaches 3 kms or even more.

Top 10 Diet Pills

Posted by girlie on May 2, 2008

Every woman wants a “vavavoom” body. I for one would do anything (haha uber) just to have a body to die for. Nah, I don’t have it yet, and I don’t think I’ll have it. I’m past the age sad to say. And since it’s every girl’s dream is to have a beautiful body, a lot are in constant search for the top diet pills. Err, I am talking about women who find themselves fat. I know it is such a struggle to lose those unwanted pounds, that’s why people go for diet pills that are popular and are known to really work.

And the Reward is…

Posted by girlie on April 18, 2008

Photobucket

Yeah it’s the salad again, but this time with a twist, nope not a lemon twist, but I added grilled chicken strips this time. Pardon me but I know how to make just this kind of salad only, and this is what the family eats. Sometimes it’s all veggies, like I add cherry tomatoes and carrots, but since the kids are not really big fan of veggies, I decided to add fruits.

We are putting a kid on a diet, so you’ll be seeing the same salad over and over again, hehe. So far, so good. He finished everything I prepared for him. He didn’t ask for a midnight snack. See he is determined, or is it that he’s only after the reward, like what happened here, #2. His dad promised to get him PS3 if he goes down to 120 lbs…goolay long way to go, like 25 lbs. to shed.

I love to Dance!

Posted by girlie on January 13, 2008

I remember posting a picture of Ballet shoes when I first informed my readers that I was going into this kind of fitness program. I was really excited about since I really love to dance. I’ve tried several fitness programs, but none lasted. It just bored me to death, but not DANCING. Until now i’m still into it. When I finally decided to go into dancing, the first thing I bought was my Dance shoes. I read somewhere that it is really important to have the right dance shoes, because if not it can cause injuries. Of course I don’t like that to happen to me. I made the right decision of owning a ballet shoes. Yes, that’s what I use whenever I go belly dancing. It feels so comfortable and I can move freely. My husband even suggested that I should wear Leotards. Yeah right, I was telling him. Why not? For once I can look like a ballet dancer in my get up. Ballet is actually one of my frustrations. When I was younger, I was asking my Mom to enrol me to this ballet class, but I don’t know how I ended up in Hawaiian class instead.

Anyways back to dancing. Whenever I go to my belly dancing class, I make it a point to wear the proper dance wear. I don’t know but I just feel good in it. I always have the energy to dance. I think it really helps wearing the right dance wear. How about you? Are you wearing the appropriate dance wear whenever you go dancing? If not, let me show you a website where you can buy it at 50 percent less than the retail price. Dancedirect.com/uk/ has everything you need.

I Need a Bike Rack

Posted by girlie on

Whenever I see auto accessories, I cannot help but think what’s next to put in my 4×4. Oh now I know. I need a bike rack that can hold 2 bikes. You see my husband is sometimes lazy to drive, and most often I find myself being his personal driver. Since I can’t comfortably drive his monster vehicle, it’s time to get my own mini monster (kidding) its own bike rack.

Punch Bags

Posted by girlie on November 8, 2007

Whenever I see punch bags I always relate it to boxing only. But did you know that punch bags have a variety of uses to include aerobics, stress relief, and as martial arts training equipment? It is a matter of carefully selecting which kind of punch bag matches your needs. I know you’ve seen those hanging punch bags years back, but you seldom see it now. It is because of the hassle of mounting or setting it up. Now more manufacturers are offering free standing punch bags. No installation is needed and you can put it anywhere. It is one of the favorite equipment of people engaged in martial arts. Now you see it in homes too. You know why? It’s a complete workout in itself. The punch bag allows you to kick and punch thereby performing both aerobic and strength exercises which we all know is a good cardio exercise. When you strike on the freestanding punch bag, you develop better muscles.

When it comes to punch bag material,  the shell is basically made out of leather, synthetic leather or canvas.  Leather material is gaining popularity nowadays because of it’s durability and soft classic feel.  It’s quite expensive though compared to the synthetic and canvas.  But each of them has it’s own benefit.  Take for example synthetic leather, this is mildew resistant and can be easily cleaned by cloth and water.  Canvas on the other hand is best when it’s placed outdoor.

Practicing for December

Posted by girlie on September 25, 2007

The kids have been learning this dance routine (hiphop belly) for about two sessions already. They will perform this at the planned dance recital come December. Nothing is final yet, but hopefully it will push through.

Playing Golf

Posted by girlie on September 17, 2007

Nobody in the family plays golf, but I have some friends who do, and they say it’s very relaxing. We even have a friend who has long been convincing us to join them when they play golf. We actually haven’t given it some thought, but due to this friend’s insistence my husband is now considering it. He has done some basics in the past with his friend, and he says it’s not a bad idea. If and when he decides, then I won’t have hard time looking for golf clubs and other gadgets needed to play the game. I don’t really need to go for the highend brands for a start, maybe I would go for the items on sale at Theworldofgolf.com, and have it shipped to my sister’s address in the US, anyway shipping is free for items above $50. This would be a wonderful birthday gift when he celebrates his nth birthday this November.
