The Perfect Tee

Posted by girlie on February 9, 2012

Whenever I go to the mall, I wouldn’t pass up a chance of going to the t-shirt section. I just love tees. I can say that I am a tee and jeans person. I do wear dresses and skirts once in a while just to get the hang of it. But if you’d let me choose, I’d pick jeans and tee hands down. I’m not really picky when it comes to brands. I am for affordability and comfort. I wonder if this distro t-shirt fall under it. But judging on the price online, I am happy to announce that it is, so are the rest of these kaos clothing. I was browsing through their products and I can’t help but pick. I want a few items, but at the moment I can’t anymore afford to shell out even a small amount of money. I just recently bought some stuff and it’s a big chunk off my savings. Nope, I am not bitter at all because I know I made the right decision in buying those stuff.

The Cross that I Love!

Posted by girlie on December 1, 2011

I grew up appreciating jewelry be it the real ones or the fancy ones. It’s probably because I often see my Mom and my Aunts wear them. Now it can be told that my love from jewelry came from them. I started with earrings. I think it’s standard for a female child getting their ears pierced before they turn 7. I had mine before I turned 7, and I had my daughter’s ears pierced when she was a baby, a few days after she was born. Then comes other jewelry. I remember my Mom letting me wear a Cross Neckalce Pendant, and I was just so proud of it. I still have it with me until now. I think all four girls in our family wore one. I just don’t remember if others wore fancy. Well my other sister wore something like this Gold Cross Neckalce Pendant I found online. Funny that up until now I find myself still looking for a unique Silver Cross Neckalce Pendant which I can let my daughter use. I guess it’s the fascination for a cross pendant which I grew up with. Now I can see my daughter’s love for it as well. I bet this love for jewelry will carry on from generation to generation. I just can tell.

Tropics…but…WTH?

Posted by girlie on November 2, 2011

Photobucket Went to different malls to look for some cardigans. Either then don’t have it or I can’t afford it. I want it in different colors so I’m looking for a price that would give in to that whim. Where do I go? 168 Mall came in mind first, so I went. I am glad I was able to find one that I liked and in 8 colors. I still want the yellow and the lemon green so I think I’m going back to buy it. Now what is this for? I need it for church, it’s too cold…nah I am telling a lie…but yeah I am not telling :P

Like Seriously? Ties?

Posted by girlie on February 4, 2011

What’s with men and their numerous collections? Guns, bikes, cars, shoes, women, clothes, gadgets, etc. Compared to women, I think we have less. Well I really do not know, I am just speaking for myself. I just love shoes and bags, among others, hehe. Kidding aside I just love shoes and bags, that’s it. Oh, I think I forgot to include mens ties in their collection. I was really surprised finding different kinds of ties in different colors in the husband’s suitcase when we moved to our house after we got married. I was like men collect ties too? Apparently they do. They are not contented with just 1 or 2, it has to be dozens to match every shirt they have. Oh well, I don’t have any reasons to complain, I too have my own set of collection.

We Love Sweaters

Posted by girlie on November 30, 2010

I get cold easily, so does daughter Ish. Even if we live in a tropical country you will find sweaters in our lockers. We even get complimented when we wear our sweaters. Yes we sure do know how to shop for these kinds of women’s sweaters . You won’t find it hard looking for really beautiful ones because everything you see are beautiful and you want to have them all. It comes in different kinds, they have light sweaters which we go for, I think you already know the answer why.

Shoe Ban Not…Yet

Posted by girlie on September 30, 2010

Photobucket Evil shoes! I should put myself in a shoe ban. That gladiator heels makes me want to go to Forever21 first thing tomorrow morning! Darn! It’s so pretty and the color? Oh I don’t have that color yet which justifies my want. I will have to show this to my daughter so my purchase will all the more be validated since we share the same size. I know she’d love it and would want to rush to the store too. I hope it’s affordable like all the other items there so there’s more reason to buy. Promise after this I’m going to put myself in a shoe ban.

Mom, It’s Big!

Posted by girlie on September 10, 2010

Photobucket I got that for my daughter at Payless in Megamall. I’m used to buying her 6.5 but surprisingly she is a size 6. I need to return it on Sunday because of the 7 day return policy. Good thing we go to church at CCF so it’s not much of a hassle. When daughter learned about it, she went to the website and found a pair that she likes. Hopefully she finds it in the store. What’s nice about the shops being brought here from the US is that they have whatever current stocks they have in the US. It wasn’t like that before. They used to send items that were not sold in the US, so that means items from 2 years back, sucks right? But that is no longer the case now, well at least for Forever21 and Payless.

I Want to Do Business

Posted by girlie on August 21, 2010

I’ve been a stay-at-home Mom for about 5 years now. Yes I do get bored too because I have been used to working, a few years in the corporate world and a few years managing our business. Right now I take care of the family. I see to it that most of their needs are met. Now that the kids are older, I think I can go back to working or probably do some business. Since I am so fond of fashion, I was thinking of going into the retail business. I can make use of these wholesale rhinestone handbags for a start, then probably venture into the clothing business. Well anything related to fashion would do. I checked on these wholesale cross belts and I think I have a market for that. I wonder if the husband will agree with me or if he will support this thing that I want to go into. I really think that I can make good. I am so into fashion and I would like to share the stuff that I like and probably make this country one of the fashion capitals. High hopes you might say, but yes I think I can do it. Now take a look at these wholesale patchwork purses, it’s beautiful right? I’d start with a few things here and there then eventually expand.

Her Inspiration

Posted by girlie on August 10, 2010

Daughter has been admiring fashion bloggers who wear vintage clothing. So this is the reason why she wants me to go to ukay-ukay (sort of a flea market or a vintage market) and get her some nice vintage t shirts. She wants everything vintage nowadays. This is a challenge for me, uuummm I want to be a personal shopper right? So I guess this would be my baptism of fire. Hope she does not get disappointed and yes hope she doesn’t find my purchase too mommy(ish), as I have this tendency. Sometimes I can’t stop myself from picking things that I like, rather than things that I think she’d like. I’ve been to the Baguio ukay-ukay and got myself some pieces, I’ve also been to Bambang, but Baguio is still the best I think.

My Little Shopping

Posted by girlie on July 22, 2010

Photobucket I had to fetch the daughter yesterday to bring her to Mega Mall to meet with her Tita Jane who will bring her shopping at Forever21. She was able to pick like 4 items I think and all paid by her aunt. I myself went for a little shopping too. I intended to shop for another sandals if they have new ones (because they said they come up with new items every week). I saw this black sandals, it was pretty but I had to let it go because it was more than a thousand bucks, too much for my budget of P500. You know why? I was able to buy a P475 sandals last week. I think I mentioned it in my other blog. Anyway, while waiting for them to finish, I browsed the racks and found that skirt you see on the photo and it was within my budget. Well I added P75 coz it cost P575. Not bad for a pretty skirt. I sure know how to shop, right? Oh just to let you know, the philippine price is just higher by $2 compared to the website which isn’t bad at all since you don’t really pay an additional tax on top of the price.

Thinking of What to Wear

Posted by girlie on June 29, 2010

We’re invited to attend a grand party a few months from now. It’s a formal occasion and we really need to dress up. We actually want to dress up, which rarely happens. So whenever there is an opportunity to dress up, we get excited. I have this habit of looking at prom dresses to suggest to my daughter. Sometimes I pick what I think will look good on her. She actually trusts my taste for clothes. I normally get her approval and sometimes she leaves me to choose especially when it comes to gowns. It does help that I know what she likes so I don’t really have a hard time picking a nice gown or a cocktail dress for her.

I might probably pick from these prom dresses 2011 for her debut. She’s not sure though if she wants a grand celebration. She’s thinking of asking for a car instead. Whatever her decision is, at least I am ready. If she can’t wear it to her own 18th birthday party, then she can wear it when she gets invited to someone else’s party. I on the other hand can also take a look at these formal dresses. There are a few pieces that are my favorite and I can’t wait to wear them already.

And yeah, I want you to check these homecoming dresses. There’s one in that collection that is totally my favorite. It’s simple yet very elegant. I think my daughter would love it too, we’ve got the same taste for clothes, and she’s really her mother’s daughter as everyone says.

I Can Style

Posted by girlie on May 29, 2010

Photobucket

I so love Looklet, it’s my current thing now and I’d pick it anytime over Facebook. You can see my styling moods at the sidebar. I really love fashion, anything to do with fashion you’ll get my full attention. This is probably the reason why I love to dress too, but my style is very simple. You’ll see it in my looklet page, everything I put together is wearable. But sometimes I want to explore too, and yeah I go wild with my styling. If I look at the pieces and thinks it’s impossible to put them all together and when I do and it looks good, I give myself a pat on the shoulders just like saying, you did a very good job. I want to do styling for a living, but I know I still have a lot to learn, it’s just a plus factor that you know what looks good or not but still there are “rules” to be followed and what not or shall we say the no nos in styling.

White V Tee

Posted by girlie on May 28, 2010

Photobucket I wrote in my shopping log blog about my Vee Tee purchase. It’s so comfy, it’s simple but it can be made into something beautiful with the right accessories. Well it looks beautiful even if it’s bare. I don’t know but I really love wearing white also more so this time that I’ve seen a lot of people wearing it. I wanted to have my own perfect V tee. Sure I have lotsa white shirts, all of them crew neck. Back to my perfect V tee. I wanted to purchase another V I found at Banana Republic at Rustan’s, but my oh my I couldn’t afford the price, but it’s really nice. I gotta save up for it or I’d probably forget about it anyway I have 4 Hanes tee, yeah that should be it.

Nails in Gradient Purple

Posted by girlie on May 19, 2010

Photobucket Uh oh, my hands are not that dark, nor is it too ugly. Pardon me for the photo, I took it last night without flash so you’d see the gradient purple that I made. I watched a tutorial on youtube and I was so confident that I’d get it right away. But no! It took me 3 tries and having a room that smelled like solvent, no wonder I was high, heh! I had all the things needed, like sponge, eye makeup applicator, 3 shades of purple, the black and white nail art pen. I first painted my nails with the lightest shade, then using a sponge I dabbed 2 more shades the darker one and the darkest. At first I used the eye makeup applicator and it didn’t turn out good. I was forced to get one of my foundation sponges and used it to do the gradient effect. I didn’t intend to put some black flowers, but then it looked boring even if I was successful in creating the gradient look. You can go to youtube and follow some tutorials there on how to make nail art. I assure you, you’ll get addicted to it. DIY nail art is cheaper than having it done in specialty salons.

Look! I Got Long Hair!

Posted by girlie on March 10, 2010

Photobucket I was invited by my SIL to go to Hair Asia at the World Trade Center. Of course I was excited, and I bet you know by now why. For those ones who does not have a clue, I am a salon artist in my past life probably. It would be a chance for me to see beauty/salon products.

Anyway I have been sporting short hair since June of last year. In my opinion, my hair grows long really fast but not fast enough for me to curl it. I actually tried but it was quite hard. When I saw this human hair clip on extension, I became excited. But I didn’t buy it right away since I have this habit of buying on impulse. I sat for a few moments (away from the stall) arguing at the back of my mind whether to get it or not. It was actually my SIL’s prodding that made me buy it. She asked the hair technician to try it on me and from there I decided that I want it. I will curl it tomorrow since the family does not want or should I say not used to seeing me with long straight hair.

In My Boyfriend Clothes

Posted by girlie on November 19, 2009

Photobucket I first saw it at Zara’s display window. I think my son has that, and it’s almost exactly the same. I am talking about the shorts here. True enough, when I checked his locker, I found it complete with tag. It was my sister Debbie who gave it to him. Maybe she thinks he is a bit smaller, I can’t blame her, she has not seen Josh in a long time. I think it’s really for me, I look good in it. Oh the top? I really don’t know who owns it, but definitely it’s someone from the family.

Black is Black

Posted by girlie on September 17, 2009

Photobucket Excuse the mess in the background. I’m at my daughter’s room, no I’m not saying that she doesn’t fix her stuff 0_0 . Well I posted that photo because I’ve been really obsessed with black clothes lately. It’s like whenever I go out, you’ll always see me in black. Good thing that in one of my shopping trips over at 168, I found at least 3 simple yet cute black dresses, one that can double up as a top when worn with leggings or something. I just love it, and the best part is I bought it only for two hundred fifty pesos (that’s about $6). It looks similar with that Zara top I’m wearing, the only difference is with the material, well what do you expect, right?

Womens Dresses

Posted by girlie on September 2, 2009

Photobucket I just love this dress. It’s actually a sweater dress, yeah you read it right, a sweater dress. A dress perfect for a cold weather. It’s going to be autumn in countries that experience four seasons and this dress is just right. I love the style too, see the details in front? It hides my unwanted bulges. Who says you can’t dress well with bulges left and right. It’s a matter of choosing the perfect style for it. I actually found that dress while browsing some womens dresses. It caught my attention the first time I saw it online. There are more beautiful dresses that I saw but I limited myself to like only one. I don’t need to tell you the reason why, haha. Anyways, maybe you might want to take a look at these womens sweaters. I browsed through some too since my daughter Ish is fond of sweaters lately. It’s like an addiction to her. Whenever we go to the mall the first section she checks is women’s clothing particularly the sweater section. I wish I had plenty moolah since I found a few womens jackets of my liking. There’s one that I found that I really liked. The cut is just right for my physique, and the color, a nice shade of khaki. Haha I know you are already intrigued by all the descriptions I made, well I am just excited, you know.

The Marni Necklace

Posted by girlie on April 12, 2009

Photobucket Don’t you just love this Marni necklace? I sooo love it. The first time I saw it online, I was like WOW! I want to have it. I love this kind of necklace, I find it unique and quite interesting. Tell me, do you often see this kind of necklace in the places you go to? I’m sure it would turn a lot of heads, mine included. It will surely catch attention because of it’s beauty. I know girls would go gaga once they see this. It’s a statement by itself. Haha notice how I say beautiful things about it. It’s because I have now included it in my wishlist. I’m starting to imagine myself wearing just a plain white tee with my favorite jeans and this neck piece will complete my look! I can even wear it when I attend formal functions. I’m sure it would look great with my little black dress. Dang! I really should have this neck piece. I think every girl who would see this would love to have it. You should see the rest of the Marni collection, it’s just sooo beautiful. I just know that you will love all her accessories. That photo you see above is just one of them.  Just to give you an idea about the designer, she is swiss-born, and she’s based in Milan.  She has a huge following, and I know why.

Hide Those…

Posted by girlie on March 6, 2009

I’ll let you in a little secret…promise don’t share, ok? Did you know that there was a time I wore a corset to hide my flabs? Yeah, the material of the dress was quite clingy, so it was really ugly when the bulges started to show. Solution…I need a solution to hide those unwanted bulges…the answer? Corset! Believe me it works! Now you know part of my body beauty secret.

My “Gossip Girl”

Posted by girlie on December 14, 2008

Photobucket Darling Doll asked me to buy a headband she can use one time. She showed me a picutre of “Serena” (Gossip Girl) and she goes, “Mom this is the hair I want on Mama’s Wedding.” Oh ok I told her. Good thing we found a headpiece we could use for the hairdo she desired.

Photobucket

Photobucket What do you think? Is it close? I forgot to take a picture of the back part, it looked really nice.

Bridesmaid Dresses: Where to Buy

Posted by girlie on July 27, 2008

I’m going to share with you a website that has the most beautiful and affordable Bridesmaid Dresses. They have a large selection from different designers and different brands so you won’t have a hard time picking. There will always be one beautiful dress for you. Now I know where to look whenever an occasion pops up. Honestly I find the Bridesmaid Dresses wearable for any formal or special occasion. So if you ever have something coming up and you need a formal wear, then the website is the best place to go. Lately I’ve been so much into cocktail dresses, and I found a lot of good designs fit to be a cocktail dress. Why don’t you take a look at all the Bridesmaid Dresses so you will have an idea what I am talking about. You can actually pick something for your daughter to wear on her prom night. That’s how flexible the dresses are over at bestbridalprices.com. Oh brides can take a look too. There are a lot of beautiful and exquisite weddings gowns to choose from. Haha I was kidding the hubs and showed him a few collections from the website. I told him I am going to wear one on our 25th wedding anniversary. Gosh that is what 8 years from now? Honestly, I really found something I want to wear. I picked a very simple gown with minimal bead works. It’s very elegant and it’s such a beauty.

Apple Bottom Not!

Posted by girlie on July 23, 2008

Photobucket Apple bottom jeans, boots with a par fur (personal joke between my daughter and me) not! Those jeans are not for apple bottoms, but for bulging tummy, lol. Really, I read somewhere that people with bulging tummy should wear jeans with a diagonal front pocket. Why? I don’t know really, maybe to distract people from seeing the unwanted bulges? Probably those diagonal pockets weigh down the fats in the tummy area? I think it’s true, I own those two pairs, and whenever I wear them seems like I have a flat tummy. Oh well, I should be buying more of that diagonal front pocket thingy.

Clothes for the Savvy Consumers

Posted by girlie on

Have you heard about Rocawear? When I first saw their collection, I was like this are the clothes I want to wear. It’s chic and classy, and the colors, my oh my, it’s lovely. I was browsing the women’s collection and I found a lot of items that I really liked. I wish I had lots of money to spend on shopping. You should check on their handbags too, everything is pretty and impressive. You know, the likes being carried by Hollywood stars. Really I’m not kidding, you know me, I am always in the lookout for pretty stuff. Rocawear is for everyone. If you need to buy a gift for someone special, say your husband, son or daughter, you can always find something for them at that shop. Happy shopping!

A perfect Shoe for a Perfect Dress

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket I found the perfect cocktail dress that will go with this pair of strappy sandals I bought 3 weeks ago. Isn’t it pretty? Would you believe that pair was sold at 70 percent off? Lucky me! It’s made in Italy which I bought at Linea Italia. I really love that shop since they always go on sale. You can always find durable yet very affordable pairs of shoes there. I still haven’t worn that pair yet since I am not going anywhere, lol. We have a coverage on the 8th of August, I’ll probably wear it, but not with the perfect dress since I haven’t been to my couturier yet.
