This is what I did with my darling boy Josh the past long weekend. We spent some time playing the Time Crisis and just enjoyed ourselves to the max. He was the first to choose a gun, leaving me with the inferior one =( I didn’t really mind at all since he is the expert in this game. Too bad his teevee is kinda small and it was kinda difficult to see and hit. Haha, excuses! This is one of our favorite games when we go to Timezone. So instead of spending a lot just to be able to finish the game, we thought of buying the game and just let him play at home. It’s pretty cool! A nice way to de-stress. You know just bang! bang! bang! your woes away, harhar.
I’ve wanted to take a cruise for a long time already, but how? My hubby is sea sick, and the kids are scared to board a ship. So tell me! Maybe if I can show them these carnival cruises, they will change their mind. I hope I will be able to convince them that it would be fun and exciting taking this carnival cruise. It going to be a lifetime experience one will never forget. It’s like staying in a 5-star hotel, with all the grand amenities this cruise ship offers. Carnival Cruise Line is the most popular cruise line in the world. They boast of a wide variety of on-board activities like shows, sports, and different programs for the whole family. The dining experience is totally superb offering superb dishes. I wish we could board this cruise ship anytime soon!
This is what we do every night before Ish goes to bed. In between watching TV, I blow dry her hair. She likes to take a bath at night so she won’t wake up early in the mornings just to get ready for school. And she said something like, “I don’t want to bother you in the mornings Mom, to comb my hair.” Yes, I used to do that every morning before she goes to school. She wants me to style her hair, nah make that fix her hair. She claims that she does not know how to put the clip properly. She claims too that whenever I’m the one putting the clip, her hair stays in place. I’m happy with our bonding time. If my darling boy goes for a massage, then my darling girl goes for a blow dry. Mommy’s special touch is still there, it’s one way of showing my love for my kids.
On our way to Mall of Asia, my daughter saw some kids playing Paintball. She then asked us if we can let her experience play Paintball. Of course we said yes, as much as possible we want them to get involved in sports activities. That is one way of keeping them from so called “temptations.” She has friends who are into it already, so there is really no problem. I know they will enjoy a lot because it’s a fun game. I’ve watched my husband play and I can tell that he enjoyed it pretty much.
But before I can allow my daughter to play, I’ll let her visit this website called your-paintball.com. Everything you need to know about the game is there. They even have videos for you to watch so you can familiarize yourself on how the game works. They have a complete supply of the things you need in order to play like Paintball Guns and Paintball Gear. Of course you should equip yourself first before starting to play.
This is what we did during our break. We took the chance to have our pictures taken. It’s a lovely place and we cannot let the opportunity pass. I enjoyed the bonding I had with my daughter Ish. Memories like this I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. You can see the rest of the pictures here.
Hey did you know that when you buy one-day Sea World Tickets you get the second day free? This is a limited time offer, so if I were you better buy it now. There are a lot of benefits when you buy your tickets ahead of time. It saves you the time from the long lines of people wanting to purchase a ticket. Not only that, when you buy tickets online, you get to save because tickets sold over the internet are way cheaper. It’s really discounted, my sister-in-law has tried doing that, so I can really vouch for it. Visiting Sea World would be a great experience for the whole family. It’s a great way to bond. I recommend you watch the Shamu Show, we enjoyed every bit of it when we went 2 years ago. Until now my kids never stop talking about Shamu.
Darling Doll Ish requested if she could come with us to Subic for a wedding coverage last Saturday. This is the first time that she came with us. She has heard a lot about Subic from her Dad, so that’s probably the reason why she wanted to follow. Ahem, she thought she could go shopping at the free port, but sorry darling we went to Subic for work. Actually we just didn’t have extra time to do that…maybe next time ok? Anyway Ish took these two photos of us working. Quite unglamorous, but who cares, whatever position as long as we will take good quality photos. Btw, she helped in the editing of the video (client requested for an on sight editing). Now she’s demanding for salary. Haha, child labor, better give her salary or else ^_^
I got a text message from my cousin Aleli (dad’s side) if I wanted to join the “field trip” for senior citizens (my Mom, Aunties Glo, Trining and Telly) to 168 Mall at Divisoria on Friday. They actually talked about it while we were at the cemetery and I was like laughing at them, even asking how they can manage to go. That is not just the place for them, there are lots of people and I am just scared that they will be elbowed and could not take it. I thought they were just kidding me, but no, they are really decided to go. I sent an sms to my cousin asking if my Mom is going, and she said yes. Well I have to join their so called field trip, I need to take care of my 81 year old Mom, although she is still very able. My daughter Ish wants to tag along, but I don’t think I will bring her, it’ s hard to take care of 2 people. Next time Ish, we will have our own time. I will just get you the things you requested me to buy for you, ok?
I feel more relaxed now, goodbye to all those body aches. Today, me and the kids went to Ace Water Spa. It’s just a few minutes away from where we stay. The feeling is really overwhelming. It’s actually my first to try it, although I have been bringing them there but I was always at the reception hall. Now I’m quite addicted to it already, I’m already thinking of the day when I can go back and just enjoy hydrotherapy. Hhhhmmmm.
We used to visit the grave of our loved ones on the 1st of November. But due to heavy traffic, we decided to go last Monday. There were a few who decided to go early too. This is a sort of a reunion for us on my dad’s side of the family. Aside from Christmas, this is the only time that we can bond and update on each other.
We got so bored yesterday just staying at home. Ish wanted to watch a movie but the movie she wanted to watch is not shown yet. Anyway we still left. I wanted to leave early so I can do a little window shopping on the side. We went around but I was not able to find something that I really like. See, I don’t buy on impulse anymore, I’m a rehabilitated shopaholic.
N was convincing all of us to watch 30 Days of Night! No way! Even if he pays the kids to watch with him, nobody wanted to come, lol. So Ish was tasked to pick a movie, and it was a good choice. Balls of Fury was really funny, we couldn’t stop laughing from start to finish.
I often hear Josh call/refer to his sister as “boy magnet”. It’s like when I admire Ish with anything, next the words that will come out of Joshua’s mouth would be “boy magnet”. While we were having lunch awhile back I asked him what “boy magnet” means. And he was like, “Duh! Mommy it’s the things that you do that attracts boys. You know, like how you fix your hair, the clothes that you wear.” I suddenly fixed my hair “Isha Style”, then said, like this Josh? Do I qualify? And he was like… “For the love of …Noooooo, you are already married!” Haha, as if I don’t know that. What’s funny, their Dad reacted, saying “No boy magnet for you, you are married.” DUH!
Sem Break started yesterday for the kids. It’s going to be a week long vacation. We planned to go to Subic today, but some things came up so the plan was ditched. Too bad, everyone was already excited. I know you’d say what about the other days of the week. Well my answer is I don’t think so, unless we want to be caught in a jam. Yes, there will be a lot of people who will be going home to the province to remember their dead relatives. We already experienced going out of town on those dates, and I swear we will never do it again. Half of the time was wasted on travelling.
Now I have to think of another plan. Oh maybe we can go swimming at the nearby Ace Water Spa. I have not tried it, but my kids have, a couple of times already. Yeah I think that’s it, we will go swimming tomorrow!
There was a time that we really got addicted to slot cars. We would go to specialty shops and buy accessories, even getting the top of the line ones just to ensure a victory whenever my husband would compete. I even remember getting our own race track, we would play with the kids, sometimes betting on who’s gonna win the race. These are times that have brought fondest memories, if I think of it now. We would work as one, trying to complete a new model that has just been bought, putting stickers to make it look cool, oh I miss those times.
Last saturday, my son Josh requested if I could drive him somewhere (I don’t have a clue where, I’ll just follow his navigation) to buy his level up card for this online game FLYFF he plays. Little did we know that the card was available in a store just a few steps away from our house.
Then I asked him, let’s go on a date, “don’t call it that Mom!”. Make it let’s hangout nah, let’s call it bonding instead. Hehe, even with the choice of words, he is very particular. Is it really like this? Having kids who are in an awkward stage? Every word has go through the “board of censors”. Arrrggghhh, I don’t think I can put up with this.
Anyway, here’s what he had. He said he’s gonna forget about dieting. NO DIET indeed!
HIS ————– MINE
I was able to chat with KC the other night, yay! See I told yah people, I can forget about the boredom! So that’s one off my list! I played video games too, borrowed my daughter’s DS Lite, and guess what? I enjoyed playing Cooking Momma, hehe so funny me. ^_^ So that’s another off the list, yayness!
Funny how we always look forward to long weekend breaks, and we usually find ourselves jumping with joy. And why not, this is the only time where we can bond with the family, especially now that the kids are in school. With this short breaks, we are able to give ourselves a much needed R&R. Good thing there are cheap flights available online which can allow us to spend our weekend breaks somewhere else. If only we live somewhere in Europe, then we can go visit places like Paris, Rome, Spain, etc. But as it is, the farthest we can go is Hong Kong, but we have just been there. Hmmm, there are still places here in the Philippines we have not gone to. So I guess Boracay it is, my daughter really wants to go there, and I wouldn’t get tired basking in the sun, walking along the fine white sand which Boracay is known for.
For weekend getaways, you can choose from the different packages being offered by DialaFlight.Com, a company offering flights, hotels and travel ideas worldwide.
When N saw that massager “the Dolphin” at Trinoma, he immediately thought of his son. He couldn’t decide at first if he wanted to buy it or not. His son might not like being massaged by a “machine”. True enough, his son still prefers what he calls the “classic” one, even mentioning that the classic goes with TLC. Hhhhmmm, his son really knows how to melt our hearts.
Our eldest daughter Isha who’s turning 14 on the 28th asked permission from us if she could chill out with her friends at the Power Plant. We dread for this day to come, really! We’ve been talking about this, and we can’t accept the fact that our lil girl has already grown. Well we permitted her of course, and it has always been the rule that she can’t go with her friends without us in tow or her nanny. It’s not that we don’t trust her, but more for her safety and security. Times are hard nowadays, and we just feel that at a young age, she can’t still handle it.
So what do we do while waiting for her? We had our own bonding time too, had coffee and pastries at UCC. We talked about our kids, how they’ve grown in so little time, ways on how to handle them, etc.
And what does this family do on a stormy day? Call us weird, but even if half all of Metro Manila is flooded, we still find ourselves in the mall chillin’ ^_^ The kids were sent home by the school because of strong rains and winds (storm signal #2). Quezon City is always the last to declare that there are no classes. They were already in school, some teachers ready to give the daily quizzes when it was announced that classes were suspended. Shouts of joy were heard, this is what students are looking for all the time. Anyhoo, when the kids got home, just by one look, we all understood what was to follow…of course a trip to the mall. We usually do this kind of bonding ^_^ . We went to check out the crocs store at Trinoma, Ish wanted to have her own. She picked a color similar to mine, hers is lavender, mine is purple. We bought some jibbitz, and I discovered that cali bits (sketchers) is cheaper by half. We ended up buying too. In the evening, we went to watch Rush Hour 3 at Promenade, it was hilarious, we all enjoyed the film. That tandem is really funny.
Simpsons The Movie is finally shown in theaters. Ish and Josh have been looking forward to this since the time they watched the movie trailer. They didn’t to to their Chi Tutors today, so we can catch the movie. I even missed belly class just to see it. The theater was jampacked with children, and you can hear their loud giggles and laughters. I can even hear my children’s laughter from where were seated, they were like 5 seats apart from us. Honestly I really do not enjoy Simpsons humor, it’s crap! And you ask why am I allowing my kids to watch it? Well they are enjoying and it gives them a good laugh. And I’m not worried at all, I know my kids ^_^
Finally! I was able to go to the new Trinoma Mall last night to watch Transformers. Although we were not able to explore the place really, it was pretty impressive.
Watching Transformers was a welcome break for me. I thought I was gonna sleep (again) in the middle of the movie, you know waking up at 5:00 in morning with no power naps in between is no joke. But I was wide awake and was enjoying the movie from start to finish.
Today I had the liberty of waking up at 9. It’s a saturday and there’s no school. I’ll just spend the rest of the afternoon baking cookies. The family have been craving for my home baked goodies. Til then ok?
Since it was a holiday on Monday, Ish thought of visiting museums. N planned to go to the San Agustin and Casa Manila Museums. Too bad such museums are closed on a Monday (we were not aware of that). We then proceeded to Fort Santiago (the first for the kids and our angels) and learned something more about our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. Josh really didn’t enjoy that much again because of the smell. It was very clean and well maintained, but I don’t know why the smell. Josh said Fort Santiago stinks and smells like manure. Probably because of the horses (calesa). Pasig River added to the stinky smell too, but overall it’s still one of the best tourist attractions we have here in the Philippines.After Fort Santiago, we went all the way to Mall of Asia to buy some additional school stuffs for Ish, we also had dinner there. Too bad we were not able to see the fireworks coz we were in the middle of dinner. I can say that this is a different kind of bonding for us, a first “cultural awareness” bonding for the whole family.
Joshua’s yaya (nanny) is on a 2-week vacation. He attempted to sleep by himself on the 1st night but to no avail. He ended up sleeping at 5 in the morning. So we asked him if he wanted to sleep in our room. For a week now, he has been sleeping with us. We always have a little chitchat before bed talking about this online game that he has been playing. Frustrated that I couldn’t even understand what he’s talking about, I decided to try it. He gave me a few tips on how to go about it, explained further the dos and don’ts. He even assured me that I’m gonna enjoy the game.
Here are some of our conversations every night:
Me: Are you sure Josh that I can go about it (the game)? Josh: Of course Mom! And yeah if someone goes to you saying, need bf or need gf, IGNORE them…and besides you’re already MARRIED.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Me: Hey Josh…what are runes? (i have not finished the tutorials of the game) Can you tell me where to get it? Can you also tell me where to get some food, etc. Josh: Sorry Mom, I can’t teach you much, you see I’m not a born teacher, and besides I know you can figure it yourself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Josh: Mom, I can’t sleep, I’m bothered by Dad’s snoring. Me: Tap him on the shoulder, and when he moves he’ll stop snoring. Josh: *waiting* Dad: *snores* Josh: *taps his shoulder* Me: I said tap Josh not shake! Josh: Mom, the tapping did it, he stopped snoring!
~the following night ~ Josh: Dad’s not snoring, finally we have some PEACE AND QUIET nor now. Me: Do you think Dad’d not annoyed by our noise? Josh: I don’t think he hears us…see he’s still asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Me: Can you move a little please…you occupy so much space. Josh: What can I do, I have ABs and MUSCLES. Me: *gasp* ABs and MUSCLES? Do you know what you are talking about? Josh: boys can dream too, you know. Josh: *touching dad’s tummy* Mom, I can feel dad’s ABs, open close quotation.
*These are some of the many funny conversations we have every night, sometimes it takes us an hour before hitting the sack.*
