The birthday boy with Lolo (grandpa)
3 gen V
Bday boy’s favorite
We celebrated J’s 13th birthday on Sunday upon the request of the in-laws. Initially he wanted it done in Friday’s, but since the old folks didn’t like it there, we went to a chinese restaurant instead. We feasted on all his favorite food, crabs and peking duck included. Or should I say my favorite food, with fried pigeon as bonus ^_^. He doesn’t want to have his photos taken, but since it was his birthday, I took the opportunity to take some, telling him that he should have a least some photos on his 13th birthday.
With his “girlfriend”
and the other girl in his life.
Ok, wish granted. We surprised him by going to Friday’s when they got home from school. He was the one who ordered (feeling like a real grown up man), and I allowed him to eat anything, including the Cs (chocolate and coke) that his doctor does not allow him to have. It’s his birthday anyway.
Of course his birthday will not be complete without playing in Timezone. Again we allowed him to stay up late, it’s his birthday!

Cuz, Sta. Ana’s number one Kap celebrated her birthday at Strumm’s Makati last Saturday. It was an awesome night, free flowing food and drinks. We had so much fun, with In Heat as the band for the night, they were awesome too. They danced the night away, I did too but not much, haha. All I can say is that I had fun that evening, staying until 3 in the morning! Haven’t done this in a long time, and it was a big break for the “domesticated” me. Thanks Cuz for bringing back good times! I enjoyed the evening with all your beautiful guests. Fun, Fun, Fun!

It’s my daughter’s 15th birthday. How time flies. I still remember vividly the day we brought her to the hospital a week after she was born. Her navel got infected, apparently the people in the hospital did not cut it well. The pedia in the neighborhood didn’t help either, we hired her to clean it since we were so scared to touch it. We didn’t know that it got infected actually, because it looked ok. it was aggravated more by the way the doctor handled it. She got hospitalized for more than a week. She was allergic to the medicines given her, it was a difficult time for us. She actually nearly died, we even had her baptized in the hospital. But look at her now, how she has grown to be a very fine young lady. A very good girl at that. I love how our relationship is going. She treats me like a friend but respects me at the same time as her mother. I am very happy that she’s starting to share everything with me. I always tell her that I am here to guide her. So far so good, and I’d like to thank her for trusting me with everything that has been going on in her life.
And you know what she asked for her birthday? A purity ring. I am so happy that she still has her values intact. At such an early age, she is already aware of the things that she should refrain from. I pray that the Lord will continue to give her the grace, strength and the intelligence to keep her going. I thank the Lord for having you in my life Ish. I love you very much.

I just got home from Trinoma. My daughter Ish chose that mall to have her pre-birthday celebration with her friends. All girls. I treated them to Super Bowl and to a movie (Smother). The movie was funny. Liv Tyler is very pretty. I love Diane Keaton too, she’s one of my favorites. I also played with my son Josh at Timezone, as usual we played Tekken 6. There were times that I won, but many times I lost. It’s fun playing with my son, bonding time. I didn’t shop for clothes since I am saving my money for that P&S camera I asked somebody to buy in Hong Kong. I think I am finally getting it. I was tempted to buy this Maxi dress that I saw, but I just closed my eyes and pretended not to see it. It was difficult, but thank God I won over some unnecessary wants.
I was touched when my daughter kissed and thanked me for the pre-birthday thingy. She said she had fun. Your welcome dahling, anything for you my daughter.

We celebrated FIL’s 91st birthday at Kimpura, a japanese restaurant. Almost everyone in the family was present. As usual a sumptous dinner was served. We had sashimi and sushi of all kinds, and teppanyaki (steak, fish, oysters). My son Josh was expecting the chef to do a show (flipping and all), but he didn’t. Josh was a bit disappointed since he remembered the Japanese restaurant we went to in Philadelphia doing a show. Incidentally the chef who did a show was a Filipino too. When he asked the chef why he didn’t want to do a show, the chef told him that it is more important t have good food rather than a good show to which I disagree a bit. The restaurant in Philly offered both, a good show and good food. Oh never mind Josh, I’m sure Tita Rachel will bring us again in that jap restaurant the next time we visit them. How was your weekend?

I finally got the chance to post celebrate my birthday with The Chairman last Friday. I was asking her if she wanted to go to Trinoma, since she has not been there yet. Too bad she didn’t have a driver that day, so it was more convenient for her to go to Greenhills area instead. I treated her at Dulcinea, and whenever we go to Dulcinea, we only order one thing, and that is their Seafood Paella. We were supposed to have our picture taken at a studio that day, but I don’t know what happened why it didn’t materialize. Ah, for one we were already running late for our belly dancing class, and secondly she didn’t get a good curl, haha, how vain really is this cousin of mine. Anyway the studio is just there, anytime we can have our pictures taken…maybe on her birthday.

Today is my 42nd birthday (June 18), waaaahhhh I’m now 42, getting a lil old but a lot wiser, LOL. There is so much to be thankful, but I tend to complain a lot. Well I am just human, a brat at that, so when I don’t get what I want, I rant, I complain, I throw tantrums. Normal isn’t it? Good thing the people around me are super duper understanding, loving ang caring. They just let me be, after all at the end of the day when I’m all settled I feel like I am the luckiest person in the world, with lots and lots of blessings coming my way.

Today N is celebrating his 42nd birthday. And he got a touching letter from his daughter Ish.
To My Dearest Daddy,
1st of all, Happy Birthday! Thank you for all the things you’ve done for me: for bringing me to this world, for raising me to be what I am now, for teaching me a lot of good things and for being a good father. I know that I hardly show affection w/ hugs and kisses, but it is my pride and joy to tell you how much I love you and Mommy. I guess I am in the phase where we, somewhat get embarrassed by showing affection to our parents, even at home. Once again, Happy Birthday & I love you!
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” - Gal. 6:2
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and He will show you the way.” - Prov. 3:5,6
Your Daughter,
Patricia
He was really excited with the letter he got, and I was excited too. We miss the days that Ish writes us letters. I remember when she first started to learn how to read and write (age 5), she had been writing us short letters. Today she is in school attending a weekend camp but we will fetch her later tonight to celebrate.
No matter how her Dad would deny it, he was teary eyed while reading the letter. I was like how come I didn’t get a letter on my birthday (haha jealous Mom), and N was like, “how come I didn’t get a birthday present?” Haha, this is really funny ^_^
Well I on my part just made a short note, placed it in a red envelope (ang pao) with $ inside, after all I am now a $ earner, bwaaaahhh!

I attended the birthday celebration/thanksgiving party of the newly elected Chairwoman (my Cuz). She was having her victory walk with matching drums when we got to their house. I was overwhelmed to see all the people who love her, there were a lot of people in the street to greet her. Part of her celebration was a raffle, giving away different prices for the people in her barangay. I was kinda teary eyed while taking pictures, I couldn’t contain my happiness seeing my beautiful cousin given a warm welcome by the people in her barangay. She is loved!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR CUZ! I love you, mwah!
