All Grown Up

Posted by girlie on October 30, 2010

I had fun with my kids for 2 consecutive days now. Yesterday was special though because it seldom happens. I’m talking about my bonding moment with my darling boy. We first went to the cemetery to observe All Saints Day, then proceeded to watch a fashion show. Initially he asked to watch a movie but I was able to convince him to watch his Dad work at the fashion show. We watched only 1 show because he got hungry. So both of us had dinner at YakiMix. Man, the line was just crazy! We waited for more than 30 minutes just to get seated. It was all worth the wait because I saw how happy my son was. He really wanted to try out that restaurant.

Anyway, time really flies fast. It seemed like only yesterday when I was carrying them in my arms. I vividly remember all the details from the day I gave birth to them. At first I wasn’t really confident with my role as a Mom, but eventually I became one. I think it’s innate. I learned the ropes of motherhood. I wish I learned how to increase breast milk production at that time because I only breastfed my kids for barely two months. I did everything I can to my knowledge but I woke up one day with no milk already. But I am happy though that I was able to breastfeed them compared to others who were not able to do it.

Comfortable Scrubs

Posted by girlie on October 28, 2010

I just remembered! I was once the featured blogger from the Philippines in blogspot. I was barely new to blogging then, so you can just imagine the excitement. I remember the entry I wrote and I posted a photo of myself wearing one of these nursing scrubs. Nope, not a registered nurse, not a doctor or not anything related to the medical profession. It just so happened that I discovered that these scrubs can be very comfortable even when sleeping. So I purchased a few and made it into my pyjamas. No offense meant here, I am not the only one who uses it anyway.

Chips All I Want! Yay!

Posted by girlie on October 27, 2010

Photobucket Tummy fat is my biggest problem. Others noticed it too. It’s frustrating I tell you. I’ve been doing aerobics 5 days a week and I can’t seem to lose it. Someone told me that I need to avoid the 5 C’s namely Candies, Cakes, Cola, Cookies and Chips. The other 4 I don’t have a problem, I can actually do without them. But the last one is really a struggle, it’s my favorite. When I’m sitted in front of the TV, whether in front of the computer doing work, whether talking with friends on the telephone, my mouth does it’s job too, that is munching chips. This is probably the reason why I don’t lose this unsightly belly bump (nope not preggers, but I look like one though).

Thank God I was introduced to this soya chips called Soyami. As the name implies, it’s really so yummy. It tastes like all our other favorite chips but this one is healthy. Don’t be bothered by what other people are saying, that once it’s healthy it loses it yummy appeal. Wrong! Like I said, it tastes like our favorite chips. Now if you are like me (someone who can’t do away with chips) , it’s time to shift to this healthy snack which is made from Soya. Let us all enjoy its benefits. Soyami is high in protein and fiber but it’s low in fat, sugar and calories. No guilty feeling when you munch on them because it’s healthy. Oh it reduces cholesterol too. What I like about this snack is the fact that even if I snack on them daily, I’m not scared that I will gain weight simply because of it’s low fat and calorie content. Yes people you can afford to eat chips daily provided its Soyami.

I bet you already know by now what Soya can give you, well you can google it yourself and find out more about its health benefits. What I’m sharing with you now is just the healthy snack that I discovered lately called SOYAMI (yes, so yummy), a healthy snack that is made with real soya, a snack high in protein, a snack that doesn’t have MSG, a snack that is Halal certified. indeed!

Love Affair with Nodular Acne

Posted by girlie on October 22, 2010

I always whine about getting acne even at this age. It’s suppose to be for teenagers only, right? I had my fair share when I was younger, not during my teens though but later. I’m a late bloomer, but it’s not a reason to be getting nodular cystic acne even at this time. I really get bothered when I get it because this is the one that leaves a scar. It takes a while to go away and it can stay forever if you do not do something about it. If you notice those brown spots on my chin, I got it from nodular acne, the ones that get swollen and with pus. Sometimes I’m too lazy to go to the dermatologist and have it injected.

We All Want it Quick

Posted by girlie on

I gain weight way too fast, was it just yesterday I was stick thin? I really didn’t take notice that I was gaining weight until someone told me. It happened gradually but really fast. I think I was putting on weight everyday. I wish I can lose weight quick just as I gained weight quick too. I think most of us would like that. But before we go into such thing, it is still safe to consult our doctors first. Not all of us have the same body chemistry, it might work for some but not really for everyone. But don’t fret, we can still do it slowly but surely.

Ammonia and Paraben Free

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket Since I have to color my hair every month (more like root dye for gray hair), I had to search for a permanent hair color that does not damage my hair. I was browsing through the Healthy Options store (they sell mostly organic/healthy choices) and got excited when I saw this shelf with hair color. Since then I’ve been using only Herbatint. The website says that it has no ammonia, no paraben, no smell, no alcohol, no perfume and has less peroxide. The first thing I noticed when I first applied it is the shine. Normally when you do hair color, it gives a dull effect after you use it, but with Herbatint it’s totally different. Hhhmm I am not paid to do this, but I just want to share my little secret.  I use 6D by the way.

Maybe I Really Did!

Posted by girlie on October 20, 2010

We had dinner with N’s cousin last night. We haven’t seen each other since 1999. She’s based in the US, working as a nurse. We only “see” each other in facebook, our way of keeping in touch. And you know what? Haha I’m excited to share this with you. She said that I lost some weight. It means that what I’m doing right now is effective. I have to put aside these weight loss products first which I have been eyeing since I gained weight. I need to take note of those ones with good reviews though, so anytime I need one it will come in handy. I don’t need to go through each and every website again.

Beautiful Prom Dresses

Posted by girlie on

I will let you in in a little secret, ok? I never thought that I would take a look at these prom dresses after my daughter had her prom. She is in college already and I find no reason to actually browse through prom dresses. But what did I just do? I went through it again to check if they have something new. There’s an occasion coming up that we need to attend so I’m just checking for some new styles. I hope to find a similar one since honestly I can’t order from them because of my location. But you gotta check out what they have, it’s all beautiful. I’m sure your girls would look good in all their dresses.

A Little Business in Between

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket I have given up some FB time, not much ok since you still see me 20/7. I still play bejeweled and FV when I get tired, it’s my energy. Anyway the reason why I’m giving up some FB time is to give way to my small business. I’ve a few orders and I need to make them now in time for Christmas. You see it takes a hour to do a set and the most I can do in one sitting is 4 sets. After that I’m done because my eye sight starts having problems. And oh don’t forget the hands, it gets numb after a while too. I’m not complaining, ok? I’m just stating some facts.

Walking Zombie

Posted by girlie on October 19, 2010

Do you get to sleep right away? I do, the moment my back touches the bed, off to dreamland I go. I am really thankful that I was able to overcome insomnia. It was bad at that time, but I didn’t take sleeping pills for it. Good thing I didn’t reach the point that I needed to pop something in my mouth just to be able to go to sleep. Counting sheep was the only thing I did to put me to sleep. There are days that it works, but on most days it leaves me looking like a walking zombie.

Just A Few

Posted by girlie on October 18, 2010

At long last! Haha I sound so desperate. Is this really what I need? I’m talking about diets for quick weight loss. I need it so I can fit in my old clothes, but what about the new set I bought? Shhheeeshhh why am I not contented? Ok, ok, fine! I want to lose weight that is why I am in constant search for something that will give me just that. You can’t blame me, I want to look good. Well it’s not just the physical aspect, but really if I want to stay in shape then I should start losing a few pounds. Just a few, ok?

Posted by girlie on

She has transferred to another hospital already and is now undergoing treatment for Miller Fisher Syndrome. I thank everyone for your love and prayers. God has indeed heard our prayers for she has gotten a lot better. I have not spoken with her yet (i don’t really want to bother her coz she might be resting) but gets updates from my other sister who is with her. Please continue to pray for healing and for complete recovery. We really appreciate all the prayers you have made for my sistah Rachel!

Medical Equipment For Sale

Posted by girlie on October 11, 2010

I just want to share with you this website which I came across with while surfing the net. If you (my readers) happen to be doctors or health care professionals, you might be interested to check out these ecg machines. They sell it at the lowest possible price. They make sure that they really have the lowest price because if you find something that is in their website that has a better price, just tell them and they are going to beat it. Nowadays, people are really looking for companies that can give them the best price.

Christmas Decorating

Posted by girlie on

MIL reminded me yesterday about my plan of upgrading the christmas lights I have at home. She said that there is no other time but now since Christmas is just around the corner. I forgot to mention to her that I am looking into buying these C6 led christmas lights. Based on the explanation of the husband on how he’s going to set it up, these lights that I’ve just mentioned is the perfect one. He wants to have different colors per section. I am already excited about the outcome. It’s gonna be outdoors and I know a lot of people will again admire it. Hopefully these lights I am getting now is durable. It said that the bulbs are break resistant and it provides outstanding energy efficiency, just what I need. As you all know we celebrate Christmas the longest.

Prayers Needed

Posted by girlie on

I just spoke with my sister awhile back. She is still in the hospital and there is still one more test to be made. Hopefully the doctors will have a diagnosis already. She’s been there since Thursday and they couldn’t really pinpoint yet what is wrong with her. They did a series of tests, labs and all yet they can’t say what was wrong with her. Stroke was already ruled out. Her face and right hand is still numb and she gets double vision until now. Doctors said that her 5th nerve is affected. I’m asking everyone to please include her(Rachel) in your prayers. We have a mighty God that can do miracles and I am claiming on this promise. Thank you!

Saving Up for a Cruise Experience

Posted by girlie on October 8, 2010

I’ve been dreaming of joining a cruise, problem is none in the family would like to join me. I’ve been telling them that it’s going to be a wonderful experience, but none of them is convinced yet. So ok, none of you would want to take a cruise, but that will not stop me from joining my sisters when they take Royal Caribbean to go to Alaska. They have been planning this for years already and it’s only now that I thought of joining them. I gotta save some money if I really plan to go with them. I know it’s going to be fun, I will be traveling with my sisters and that’s something to look forward to.

No Accutane for Me

Posted by girlie on October 6, 2010

I am really thankful that I didn’t reach the part that I had to take Accutane. Accutane is used to treat severe acne. You all probably know by now that there was a point in my life where I really had severe acne. My treatment lasted 6 months and I had to go to the dermatologists every week. Now why am I thankful? I read that Accutane can result to serious illness such as Crohn’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative colitis. I can imagine how hard it is once you are stricken with this. I have a friend who’s suffering from Crohn’s and I know that she’s really having a hard time. I wonder if she ever took Accutane. She has to look into this and if she did then she can immediately file an Accutane lawsuit. This is no joke because up until now she still suffers from the illness. I also heard from her that there is no known cure for that yet.

Making His Dad Happy

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket “Mom, I want to learn how to play Nessun Dorma so I can make Dad happy,” said my son Josh. That song is his Dad’s favorite, so I helped him look for the song sheet. Good thing it was a bit easy with only 2 flats otherwise I would have a hard time since I am not an expert anymore when it comes to note reading. I was really good when I was learning to play the piano, but when I stopped there are some notes that I’m having a hard time especially those on the higher octave. Anyway he was able to play it, well just a part which he thought his Dad was familiar with. The look on his Dad’s face was priceless and he noticed it!

Safe and Clean Water

Posted by girlie on October 4, 2010

We’ve been buying our water from the water refilling stores. Now it makes me think, why don’t I get my own water filter? I think having my own will allow me to save, plus the fact that I can be sure that the water I drink is clean. The water is filtered alright, but I can’t be too sure about the handling of the boys in the water refilling station. Do they really clean the containers well. Do they really filter the water before they sell it? Actually they are the ones who only know so it’s quite scary already. I think it’s better if I get my own.

Modern Lighting - Redesigning With Discount Designer Lights

Posted by girlie on October 1, 2010

Building a house is fun especially the part where you shop for furniture and fixtures. We did it per area or per room. I saw to it that I was the one shopping and choosing for the kitchen since I am the most visible person in that room. The husband was in-charge of the lighting. I can say he is good and he knows where to find all the modern chandeliers. We needed three at home and we both decided which one to pick. But it was more like his idea, and it was his convincing that made me like it too. No worries since it was nice.

I should have seen this modern outdoor lighting first before buying. It would have matched the facade of the house. There’s this particular wall sconce that I really like and it should have been perfect. Oh never mind, I can always change although I have to admit, I will have to wait for a long time. Lesson learned, I will not be in a hurry next time but instead I will have to browse modern lighting in the internet before deciding to purchase. It helps since it gives you an idea what’s new when it comes to lighting and all.
