Nails in Gradient Purple

Posted by girlie on May 19, 2010

Photobucket Uh oh, my hands are not that dark, nor is it too ugly. Pardon me for the photo, I took it last night without flash so you’d see the gradient purple that I made. I watched a tutorial on youtube and I was so confident that I’d get it right away. But no! It took me 3 tries and having a room that smelled like solvent, no wonder I was high, heh! I had all the things needed, like sponge, eye makeup applicator, 3 shades of purple, the black and white nail art pen. I first painted my nails with the lightest shade, then using a sponge I dabbed 2 more shades the darker one and the darkest. At first I used the eye makeup applicator and it didn’t turn out good. I was forced to get one of my foundation sponges and used it to do the gradient effect. I didn’t intend to put some black flowers, but then it looked boring even if I was successful in creating the gradient look. You can go to youtube and follow some tutorials there on how to make nail art. I assure you, you’ll get addicted to it. DIY nail art is cheaper than having it done in specialty salons.

Very cool…I would love to polish my nails too –but I don’t like the look of chipped nail polish after a day or two it had been put on.
When I was in college in the 80’s, the trend were the colors yellow and azure blue, and also sea and minty green. It was inspired by Madonna and every teenage girl have their nail polished in those colors. I used to like yellow nail polish with glitter on my nails when I was in college.
