I May Look like a Japayuki, So what?
Posted by girlie on January 2, 2010
I wrote in my other blog the reason why I wanted this color so bad. At the back of my mind I thought I will be able to get away with the color since I’m a bit on the fair side. According to my daughter Ish, you must be fair to be able to wear the color without looking weird. Ok, I’m fair so I can wear it without any problem, until I got a lot of nasty stares. Nope it didn’t end there. While browsing through the Greenhills tiangge, I overheard a girl say “Ay mukhang japoks.” Japoks is short for Japayuki. The common notion of a japayuki is a filipina who works in Japan in some club or something. I turned my back and started going towards her, she backed off with a scared look on her face. I was just holding myself not to slap her and of course I won’t stoop down to her level if you know what I mean. At least I can pass off as a japayuki, meaning I look good. But look at her, oh never mind, magkasala pako if I start describing how she looks like.

Whatever hair or hair color you have, you are still beautiful - not just on the outside but more importantly on the inside. There are just a lot of people who can’t stand the fact that others look better than them.
Cheers and hugs to one of the most beautiful and gorgeous women I know - inside and out.

(sorry but i really really hate those jealous type!)
ang pinoy nga naman, lahat ng bagay binibigyan ng pangit na kahulugan…i feel so sorry for those women and men working their arses off in Japan just to support their families…lahat na lang sila ginawang ‘prostitutes’ ng mga pinoy na walang kaalam-alam sa hirap na dinadanas nila sa labas ng bansa.
oh well napahaba…stay cool, mommaMiga!

Hi Girlie! I kept on looking at your picture (and hair) and found nothing wrong with it. In fact, you look very pretty (no joke).
Agree with Thess - ang sama how we brand all Filipinos working in Japan in a negative way even if they have decent jobs that feed their families back home. Sana all Pinoys change this type of mentality soon.
