Better Get it NOW!

Posted by girlie on May 30, 2009

Photobucket I swear, I don’t want to be in this situation again. Nope it’s not swine flu, otherwise you won’t be seeing the laptop there and I can’t go on with my online activities. It’s scary but we can help it. There are a number of things one can do to avoid getting it or the human flu for that matter. I know what to do and I am confident because I am protected.   Oh that photo? It happened late last year, yeah in the month of December when a lot of things are going on, you know celebrations here and there.  I missed a lot, good food, good company, beautiful memories with people I dearly love, all because I was down with a Flu. I was angry at myself because I knew all along that this can be avoided. My husband has been reminding me to get my Flu vaccine but I was too lazy to go and see our doctor, probably because I was doing a lot of things at that time. Sometimes we take this forgranted. We dismiss it as ordinary cough or merely fever. But did you know that flu can get deadly? Yeah I am not kidding. You can visit http://www.bakuna.ph to know more about it. Better yet, get yourselves vaccinated if you don’t want to end in bed just like me. Not in the month of December, or any month for that matter that you had to miss something grand just because you are down with a flu. I had my Vaxigrip “Bakuna” in the month of January and I’m glad I’m now protected. I will not be caught in the situation you see in the photo above since getting the flu vaccine helped build my immune system. Now will this keep me protected from swine flu too? My answer is no BUT since my immune system is strong, I’d like to believe that I won’t easily catch it. Thanks to sanofi Pasteur’s Flu Awareness Campaign, more people are now aware that they need to get Flu vaccine every year.

Photobucket A tip from my daughter…when you are sick, it makes you feel a little better when you wear fluffy slippers. I don’t know where she got it from, but I think she’s kinda right. I wore fluffy sleepers on that day and I felt a little better…haha coincidence or what?

Manila Fashion Week 2009

Photobucket

Photobucket It’s Fashion Week once again and this time I didn’t shoot. I just came to watch. Ish tagged along once again…and what happens when we go to a fashion show together? It can get nasty you know…this is just a joke. But really it’s fun to people watch during a fashion show, it’s entertaining, yeah double entertainment. Fashion Week will run until the 3rd of June I think, and I’m missing the show today, but I’m glad that I can make it tomorrow.

The second photo that you see? That’s Bebe Gandanghari, she’s/he’s really pretty in person. I was really amused when I saw her/him. Too bad I didn’t have my photo taken with her/him. Next time then.

School Stuff

Posted by girlie on May 25, 2009

I was really thinking of having custom rubber stamps made for the kids. Instead of having name tags printed year after year for their books and notebooks, it could have saved me some money. Come to think of it, you only have this made once and it can go a long way. Talk about saving, this is a good one! I can also use it with some other stuff, not just for text books in school. I can also use it for my daughter’s personal book collection. She is fond of lending books to her friends, so it’s better if she has her name stamped on it.

I Want to Try a Sleep Number Bed

Posted by girlie on

I am really curious over this sleep number bed. I want to experience lying on it even just for a minute or two, oh make that an hour please for my nap. Really I want to try it. I heard so many good words about this product and I want to find out for myself if it’s true. Of course I want to have a good night’s rest all the time and I heard that when you are an owner of this bed, you’ll get all the comfort there is. The bed adjusts to how you like it to be, cool isn’t it?

The Beadwork : 57th Weekend Snapshot

Photobucket

Photobucket Weee! I finally finished it. That’s what I did on the weekend. If not for Pet Society and Restaurant City I could have finished it in a day or two. Can you guess how many days it took me to finish it? I started doing it I think Tuesday of last week…so that’s like 5 days. My my, blame it on these two games I play over at Facebook. It’s addicting!

Waiting for Cyber Monday

Posted by girlie on May 23, 2009

For people who will miss the Black Friday Sale, don’t fret. You still have your chance to purchase that piece that you like come Cyber Monday, that is the Monday that follows the Black Friday Sale. You don’t need to go to the stores people, because you can do it online. More convenient isn’t it? Too bad we don’t have this kind of sale here in the country where I reside. I heard that people living in the US go gaga over this sale. But it does not mean though that I can’t avail of that Black Friday nor the Cyber Monday Sale. I have sisters living in the US you know, they can always shop for me. Teehee!

Water Filter at Home

Posted by girlie on

Wow this is something new to me. This is actually the first time I read/learned about it. I didn’t know that flouride is commonly added to our water to prevent tooth decay. I really never thought of that. All I knew is that flouride can be found in toothpastes and sometimes can be given by the dentists. That was how I knew tooth decay can be prevented. Years back, some people believed that the best way to avoid tooth decay is to put add flouride in the water system. That is not the case now since a lot of studies show more danger in adding flouride in water. But still flouride is still being added. Companies have thought of ways on how to remove this flouride and they have come up with Fluoride Removal Water Filters . Now that I have come to know about it, I will seriously be considering it. I also read that flouride is all the more harmful once absorbed by the skin. I have to do an extensive reading on this matter, so I will be more aware about the dangers.

Anyways, for now we are buying our drinking water. We use tap water for everything else. I was thinking that in the long run using water filters at home will allow me to save more. I will convince my family and friends to have their own water filters at home, and with that maybe we can take a look at these Wholesale CrystalQuest Filters. You and I know that prices are lower when bought by bulk or wholesale. Agree or not?

Do Something!

My abs section is my problem right now. Well it has been a problem ever since but moreso now. Maybe all of you have noticed that I put on some weight, and I just hate it that it went to the wrong places, if you know what I mean. Nope I don’t exercise everyday, I am just too way lazy. Crazy me I know, but people who play Pet Society and Restaurant City would understand, LOL.

But NO! Even if I added another FB account solely for playing I promised myself not to get hooked, duh! Thank God I will be back to belly dancing on Monday. It helps I must admit. I didn’t dance for 2 months already since my teacher gave birth. But I am just happy that we will start again come Monday.

Flash Cards at Awesome Prices

Posted by girlie on May 22, 2009

Look what I found online! If you are in need of memory cards for your camera, check out this flash memory which comes with a 60 day money back thingy. I don’t know but products with this kind of money back guarantee are just appealing to me. It has always been at the back of my mind that they would not do such an offer if they are not really sure of their products. I want to buy a 16 GB memory stick so I can maximize my 13.1 megapixel camera.

Cool Places to Visit

Nowhere to go this summer? Why don’t you try the Outer Banks rentals? Just to give you an idea, staying in the Outer Banks will give you a beautiful view of the ocean. Isn’t that refreshing? I love the ocean really, I love the peace and quiet I get just gazing at the horizon. How about basking in the sun, just enjoying the nice and beautiful weather? Oh life…there is always something to look forward to.

Nang Matapos : 48th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on May 14, 2009

Photobucket

Mom’s Day : 56th Weekend Snapshot

Photobucket That’s me and my daughter before we left for dinner.

Photobucket Thanks Ish for the really nice set of beads…ahlovit!

Photobucket The candle given at church.

Photobucket That’s my Mom in the middle, with her friends at church.

It was a hectic Mother’s Day for me. First stop was of course at the church. We attended the church service and the kids from Sunday School rendered a touching song dedicated to mothers. Mom’s were given candles too by their kids. We had lunch over at Mom’s. I brought pancit for them. We had a very nice lunch (it happens every Sunday actually) when we go and visit them. Dinner was at chinese restaurant to pay tribute to the MIL.

Simula Pa Lamang (The Beginning) : 47th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on May 8, 2009

Photobucket Ayokong mabansagang “Jill of all trade, master of none.”

*I dont wanna be branded as a Jill of all trade, master of none. But sometimes it just points to that. I’ve started quite a few projects but can’t seem to finish it. It wasn’t a choice, and I don’t like it either because I’m thinking of the money spent on these projects. I sometimes blame the time I spend on the internet especially on Facebook. Geez, you will always find me there. Now the question is, will my entry for next week’s theme connected with the photo you see above? What do you think?*

Let’s Make it There!

The hubs really felt bad that he was not able to join us when we first went to NYC. What can we do, he had a job to finish here in the Philippines. We actually flew 2 weeks ahead of him, first stop was at San Francisco to visit one of my bestfriends in college. After 5 days, we flew to the east coast to stay with my sister in Philadelphia. Since a close friend of mind is working in NYC, she asked if we wanted to see the place. Of course all of us said yes, at that time the kids were still young. You know what happens when you have younger kids in tow. You can’t really enjoy the place that much. All of us actually experienced that in our own right. Now do you know what is on our minds? We want to visit the place again, this time with the husband. I’m sure everyone will enjoy this time. Both kids are into traveling and of course sight seeing. As much as possible they want to go see a lot of places. The next time we go to New York, I think it would be convenient if we get Car Service NYC.

Nightie Nyt

Posted by girlie on May 2, 2009

I think I already mentioned here in my blog that I’m one person who is not into wearing nighties. I don’t know but I just couldn’t. I actually do not have anything against it but I don’t think it’s comfortable. We’ll I’m probably talking this way because of the kind of nighties that I know of. Just by looking at it makes me itch. Yeah that is actually the reason why I do not want to wear one. But all this changed when I saw Keep Me nightie online. It’s totally different from the nighties that I know of. Haha, I know, call me ignorant or whatever, but that’s the way it is. Anyway, let’s go back to this Keep Me nightie I saw online. Based on the description, it’s very comfortable to wear. I also like the style, very simple yet very elegant. I would not think twice of wearing it if given the chance. Well that is if I can purchase it since I heard that this particular style that I love is always out of stock. Well luck has always been on my side, so I think in no time I will be in this most comfortable sleepwear.
