Graded : 35th Weekend Snapshot

Posted by girlie on September 29, 2008

Photobucket This photo was not taken last weekend, but two weekends ago. But we actually spent the Saturday in that same bookstore. As usual I checked if that item was still there, luckily it was still there but I didn’t buy it. My daughter showed that to me, looks like she wants to grade my cooking, haha. Do you want to know what I did in the bookstore? I leafed through hundreds of recipes and memorized one particular recipe. Next time I go there, I should have a notebook with me…it’s hard to memorize a lot, might get it all mixed up. Yeah, I can’t afford to buy more recipe books, but I’m saving for a Kylie Kwong though…it’s kinda pricey.

“Superfoods”

Posted by girlie on September 27, 2008

Who else have not heard of “superfoods”, tell me! This became really big when the person who made the list appeared in Oprah’s show. From then on, it created a buzz. It was like everyone was talking about it, and why not, it’s part of human nature to always look and feel good. If you want to take a look at the list, why don’t you read the Lipovox review, because Lipovox contains all the 14 superfoods mentioned.

Sony W300 Output

Posted by girlie on September 26, 2008

I am a happy girl! I don’t need to bring my Canon 20D anymore when I go to Mom’s. I am very happy with my Sony W300, look at all those beautiful flowers. I’m still trying to get used to the settings though. But really, with a P&S camera, almost everything is now possible. I love the fact that it’s compact and yet it takes beautiful photographs. Good things Mom’s flower garden is in full bloom, I had a great time taking photos of her beautiful flowers.

Then What?

Posted by girlie on September 25, 2008

I feel sick and sluggish lately. Is it the weather? Do signs point to…ah I don’t want to think about it. Not yet, I’m only in my early 40s. Am I gaining weight? I don’t think so too. Then what is it? Actually I don’t want to think about it. Let me just put it this way, I miss shopping! But for those ones who feel the same way like I do, you might want to read orovo detox reviews, it might solve the problem. Yeah, I think I have to consider cleansing my body, that might be it…the culprit!

Puti at Itim : 20th Litratong Pinoy

Photobucket Napaisip ako sa tema natin ngayong linggo. Di ko maintindihan kung b&w ba shoot mode ko, o b&w ang kukunan ko. Nagdecide ako on the later.

Today’s theme got me thinking. Should I shoot b&w mode or am I suppose to take things with the colors black and white? I decided on the later. I wanted to do both, but as usual I got lazy. I’m like grammy, who would think that I know how to knit and loves knitting? I’m not living up to my name, hipncoolgrammy? Nah, my eldest is just 15.

Hirap talaga mag-translate.

For Your Magnet Needs

Posted by girlie on September 23, 2008

If ever you are looking for some magnets, I know of a website where you can find different kinds of magnets. I’m sure, the kind of magnet you are looking for is at their 800 page catalog. Let me also tell you that they specialize in hard to find industrial products. So if you can’t find the product you need, check out their website. Better yet, don’t go to any other website anymore. Don’t waste your time, if they have those hard to find items, they too have the most easiest to find.

RocknRoll : 34th Weekend Snapshot

Posted by girlie on September 22, 2008

Photobucket We were invited to attend the 60th RocknRoll party of a friend. I was meaning to wear something representing that era, but I got lazy. I didn’t have time to fix myself since we did our usual Sunday routine. Visit my Mom and have lunch with her, and dinner with the in-laws. We got home at 6:30, I was in a hurry to get dressed and that is the best rocknroll outfit I can come up with. Anyway, I won an iPod Shuffle for answering one of the trivia questions. Thanks for having us E and S. We had fun.

Photobucket Z was awesome in that number…she was really good. Z is one of the daughters of the celebrant.

The Need for a Steam Cleaner

Posted by girlie on September 21, 2008

I need one of these steam cleaners. The hubs agreed to buy one for the house ever since he slipped. Yeah, our helper was mopping the floor the other day and the hubs didn’t know that there was soap on the floor. I heard a loud shout and when I rushed to my son’s room, he was already on the floor. And that’s when he mentioned that we need something that won’t use soap anymore. I think this steam cleaner will do. I like the fact that it does not use chemical, just the water and heat will suffice. Environment friendly, right?

Biz Opportunities

Posted by girlie on September 20, 2008

Do you want your own business? Here are some franchise opportunities you might be interested in. There are a lot of business opportunities to choose from depending on your financial budget. You can start small first and then expand eventually. Before I forget the choices you have here are America’s Best Franchises. This is going to be a hit in my country. I don’t know, but when something new opens here especially if it from that part of the world, it seems to really boom. I guess the same thing goes for other Asian countries.

3 Doctors in a Day

Posted by girlie on

My son Josh didn’t go to school last Friday. When he was getting ready for school, all of a sudden he felt a stabbing pain in his chest. Heart burn I guess. Panic time for me since he told me he wanted to go see his pedia. This boy does not want to see his pedia really so it must be something for him. Anyway, I brought him to his pedia first, and we were advised to have ECG. When the results came out, thank God nothing was wrong with him. I also asked his pedia to recommend me to a Pediatric ENT, since he’s got stuffy nose almost everyday accompanied by headache. Then he has this mannerism of bowing his head, which to me was one way of easing whatever pain he feels in this throat or something. True enough his voicebox is kinda sore and reddish, then his left nostril is bigger than his right, thus the stuffy nose. The cause of the headache the doctor said was nasal drip. He was prescribed a nasal spray and some medication for the sore voicebox. The cause of the heartburn? Too much acid in the stomach which went up. Now he is not allowed to have chocolates, caffeine, citric, chili and carbonated drinks. And he tells me…what all my favorites “bawal” ( he’s not allowed). Oh well…that’s life darling boy. If that’s one way of helping you lose weight, that’s it, we can’t do anything about that. You said you want to lose weight, so now is the start of your journey.

Play Banzai

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket I was at the Banzai website reading about the instructions on how to play the game. This little box caught my attention, and I started playing. That is Tako having a meal, and he is about to swallow a huge ball of wasabi I think. Funny how his face turns, oh I can’t describe it. Now let’s go back to this new game they are coming out with. We have a closely-knit family, like we see each other a number of times a year, and it’s always a happy reunion. We never run out of fun things to do, but lately it seems like a little boring already. We play the same games over and over again. We do things over and over again. Even if it’s fun, once it’s being played always it becomes a no fun afternoon. We need something to spice up the day and bring back fun times we used to have. No redundant games played anymore. It’s time to introduce them to Banzai. The game promises a lot of fun time. I’ve seen the video already and I know it’s gonna be a hit to my family. Using the chopsticks to put this little stuff on the betting bowl is hilarious and exciting. It’s a new kind of game for me. Do you want to find out what you are betting on? It’s real clips from the TV show Banzai. All you need to do is put as much sushi in the betting bowl and if your bet is right, then you get all the sushi there is in the bowl. Sounds a lot of fun right? If you want to play this game, it’s available online by the way. There is a video on how to play the game if you are interested. It’s pretty simple but brings a lot of fun.

ScreenLife Games is at it again. They launched a new Banzai game. Check it out:

Ginintuan (Goldish?) : 19th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on September 18, 2008

Photobucket I’m late in posting again, I wanted something else but then I was too lazy to go down (1st floor). Then I remembered, I bought something at 168 a long time ago, something gold(ish). It’s a makeup kit. I used it a lot, but when I found something nicer, I changed again and again…ah so fickle minded.

Online Trading

Posted by girlie on

Have you tried online trading? I learned of it just recently when I heard a couple of people talk about it. Yeah, I was eavesdropping, hehe. But really they were talking loud, all of them sounded excited. I heard the words online trading a lot of times. Hmmm this must really be something. No wonder they sounded really excited, there are a lot of investment opportunities you can find online. Let me remind you that this is the leading discount online brokerage serving people for over 23 years now. International investors are welcome, so basically people all over the world can make use of their services.

Digital Signage

Posted by girlie on September 17, 2008

I find digital signage appealing. It catches my attention every time I go to offices that have them. I don’t think I am the only one, since I normally find a group already gathered in front of the digital signage. It’s a very good way of getting across your clients. Instead of boring posters hanging on the walls, why don’t you opt for a digital signage instead? I think more information will be absorbed while watching, rather than reading boring posters and all. As they say, everything is behind the screens.

A Date With The Chairman

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket Ever since she assumed post, we rarely get together. Or should I be saying ever since we both got into the ESPEE thing instead. But really, we don’t meet as often as we used to. Since she had a meeting at BDO in Ortigas, we thought of having lunch at Podium. I was happy to see her, clad in a business suit. I even kidded her that I was going a lil bit formal too. Yeah I wore a dress and shopped for another dress too. And the dress that I bought? I will reserve that for another entry. It’s a “manang” dress.

Photoshop Patterns

Posted by girlie on September 16, 2008

I have been making my own banners in this blog with the help of these Photoshop Patterns. I get very good feed back from friends and often times they would ask me where I got those cool and nice Photoshop brushes too. Now I’m sharing with you all where I get them. You will love all the patterns you’ll come across and it will make you want to download all of them. This is really very useful. I even use these patterns when my husband assigns me the task of making a signature guest book for some weddings we cover. Try it out, it’s free! This is the best resource for Photoshop Brushes and Patterns.

If the Shoe Fits : 33rd Weekend Snapshot

Posted by girlie on September 15, 2008

Photobucket I am so in love with this, too bad they don’t have it in my size, and that’s the last pair they have. I need to go to the other converse shops to check if they have it. I checked online but didn’t find it.

Photobucket Yes, Tekken 6 is our favorite game. Whenever we go to Greenhills, we normally stay at Timezone just to play that game. I love using the big fat guy character, he’s FAT, lol.

Photobucket And the Darling Doll is all bored waiting for us…or does she want to start reading the new book(s) she bought again? I think she can’t concentrate with all the noise that’s why she wanted to go home right away.

Create Your Own Story

Posted by girlie on

My daughter wished for a new camcorder on her birthday, and guess what, she got it. Now she has been bugging her Dad to get her a software where she can do a little video editing. I’m gonna show her Dad what I found in the net called Roxio Extreme Digital Makeover. The software they used here is actually very easy to use and I think she can get by with it. She loves to edit her own video and I think we are going to have a video editor in the making, of course with the help of the software I just mentioned. I’ve seen in the website how simple it is to put a multimedia story, it’s just like a drag and drop thing. Really, you and I can make use of it. It would be wonderful to put photos and video together, and make a great story. This would be a memorable one worth watching even when we are old and gray. If you are basically new with it, there’s Chris and Zoey who can help you along with it. You can watch them in this video called A Walk in the Park which I love. Here they are going to show people how easy it is to put photos and video together for the family to enjoy. They even had a video presentation in the park where the families who have participated could actually watch what they had put together.

Here’s a little video that you will enjoy watching…it’s a day in the life of Zoey which doing the Roxio Extreme Digital Makeover.

Power Outage = Trip to 168

There was a scheduled power outage last Friday to give way to repairs and maintenance of electric posts in our area. I also scheduled a trip to 168 in Divisoria since I don’t like to stay at home, and I’ve had enuf of this power outage thing already which left us all sleepless for a night. My agenda really was to look for beaded collar for a wedding I am attending in November. But as usual, I did a lil shopping on the side. I bought a maxi dress which I haven’t worn yet and some stuff for the house. Those 2 glasses were finally bought since I’ve been eyeing on it for like…i dunno for how long already. Nice isn’t it? I really do not have a specific style for the house, I guess anything that I find nice and beautiful will be bought one by one until it would look like a novelty shop, hehe just kidding.

Custom Suit

Posted by girlie on September 14, 2008

Storefront_logo If you want a Made to measure suit, you should visit that shop in NYC. My husband would be happy if I tell him about this, not that we live in America. But NYC is just probably a little over an hour’s drive from where my sisters are staying. We plan to visit them maybe in 2 years. Anyway back to the suit. Did you know that a lot of men prefer to have a custom suit? Whenever my husband would buy an off the rack suit, he would always have it altered. I would always worry about that, it’s no joke buying a suit. It’s expensive. I would always tell him, why don’t you have one custom made? And he would remind me about not being contented with the tailors we have here. I’m sure he would love to go through “My Suit Experience”. Let me tell you a little something about it. When you go to their website, they are going to show you 3 simple steps in purchasing a made-to-measure suit. Normally, an off the rack suit is based only in 3 measurements against 30 measurements when you have one made at mysuitny.com. Now you know why they have a perfect fit. When it comes to styling, they’d let you choose from among the jacket type and pants type. From there, you can do a little modification if you want to, or they can give some suggestions. When it comes to the fabric, there are a lot to choose from. Before I forget, you can make appointment to be measured online too. Another thing to note is the turnaround. They can do it in two weeks. And once you start wearing custom made mens’ suit, you will never go off-the-rack again.

Ultimate Job

Posted by girlie on

I really couldn’t remember how we ended up in this conversation.  My son was talking about the jobs he wants to have when he’s out of college.  On top of his list is being a chef, a surgeon,  a photographer, then a computer programmer, a teacher, a stylist (ala Zohan, goodness, I wanted to smack my forehead).  I told him that they only make good money in the movies.  I know they do make good money but hey I don’t like him to be that.  And he wants to be a domestic helper in America because he says they make good money, even better than those holding decent jobs (smacks forehead again).  I don’t know if he’s being serious or he just wants to humor me.  And listen to this…”oh Mom, I want to have the ultimate job…a blogger.  Seriously Mom, do you really make money?  Like what, $5 once in a blue moon?”  At this point I couldn’t stop laughing.  I wanted to stop the car and park at the side of the road.  Really this lil big boy of mine can be hilarious at times…oh make that all the time.  This is actually the reason why I love driving them around.  Conversations like this normally happens in the car.

List of Best Fat Burners

Posted by girlie on September 12, 2008

I know many of you have tried different kinds of fat burners. I want to know which ones work. I want to check too if it is in the list of best fat burner pills. Well not that I need it now, but who knows I might need it in the future. With the way I am cooking and eating now, it might be anytime soon you know. Oh I want to find out too how you came to know about the product you are using. There’s just too many in the internet nowadays, and I’m like…does this all work? I want to try a product that is proven.

System Memory Upgrade

Posted by girlie on

With the way my laptop is performing, I’m afraid I might need a system memory upgrade. Why did I not put this into consideration when I bought this laptop? Honestly? I’m clueless about these matters, shame on me. Now that I know that the performance of my computer is dependent on the amount and type of system memory, I know better next time. Now who wants to have a processor that performs below par? Tell me.

*If not for this week’s theme, I wouldn’t remember cleaning it.  Now it’s shiny but needs buffing.  It’s a fave so you will often see me wearing it. Thanks to Ms. LP and to the one who thought of this week’s theme.
