Ayaw Ko : 16th Litratong Pinoy

Posted by girlie on August 31, 2008

Photobucket Ayaw! Ayaw! Ayaw!

**No way I want that kind of hairdo! (like Amy’s) It looks like it has not been washed for a year. That’s how I felt after seeing myself in the mirror after applying henna color to my hair. You don’t only use henna for tattoos but for hair as well. Can you afford to walk the streets of metro sporting that hairstyle?

It Could be your Own Life

How can you help save lives? Take note of this, it’s important. Have you heard About the Science of C’elle? It’s about stem cells which can be harvested during the menstrual cycle. It has the same properties with the stem cells gathered from the bone marrow. But you know what it’s not as hard to have it compared to that of the bone marrow. It can be collected each menstrual cycle with the help of a kit. It’s very easy actually. This cell comes from the lining of the uterus which is part of the menstrual fluid. It contains millions of stem cells that can be used as regenerative therapy for those suffering from cardiac diseases to diabetes. And mark this, it has anti-aging properties too. I’ve read the C’elle Client Testimonial and I am convinced. If saving lives is as easy as this, then everyone should consider it. There is much more these stem cells can do. You have to visit their website to learn more about how you can save lives. Find out which diseases these stems cells work well with. Get yourselves educated with the latest breakthrough, who knows you might need this in the future.

The Birthday Gal

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket She waited for the clock to strike 12 (she is sooo much like her Dad). She came to our room saying “It’s my birthday”. She was a happy girl that night. She was happy with the present we gave her too. Uh-oh I still owe her that “Vans” shoes she wanted, LOL. She’s turning to be Imeldific, with lots and lots of shoes which she can’t even wear everyday (look who’s talking). What’s with shoes and girls, they never get contented with having a few pairs? On with the story…oh is there? Never mind, I got lost talking about shoes, all I want now is the gucci sandals I saw online…oh well.

15th Birthday

Posted by girlie on August 28, 2008

Photobucket It’s my daughter’s 15th birthday. How time flies. I still remember vividly the day we brought her to the hospital a week after she was born. Her navel got infected, apparently the people in the hospital did not cut it well. The pedia in the neighborhood didn’t help either, we hired her to clean it since we were so scared to touch it. We didn’t know that it got infected actually, because it looked ok. it was aggravated more by the way the doctor handled it. She got hospitalized for more than a week. She was allergic to the medicines given her, it was a difficult time for us. She actually nearly died, we even had her baptized in the hospital. But look at her now, how she has grown to be a very fine young lady. A very good girl at that. I love how our relationship is going. She treats me like a friend but respects me at the same time as her mother. I am very happy that she’s starting to share everything with me. I always tell her that I am here to guide her. So far so good, and I’d like to thank her for trusting me with everything that has been going on in her life.

And you know what she asked for her birthday? A purity ring. I am so happy that she still has her values intact. At such an early age, she is already aware of the things that she should refrain from. I pray that the Lord will continue to give her the grace, strength and the intelligence to keep her going. I thank the Lord for having you in my life Ish. I love you very much.

I Want to Go See NYC Again!

Posted by girlie on

I love New York City. I had the privilege of getting invited to roam around the city, although not much but I had a great time. It’s one city that my kids still remember from all the vacations we’ve had. Thanks to my dear friend G for taking time off to tour us. It was a quick stay I must say, so I’d love to go back there and really explore the city, but with the hubs this time. I’d love it if we’d be in a group. It’s fun to go places with a group of friends. I just wish that when the time comes for us to visit NYC again, it would be with a group of friends, or with some relatives. We could make use of the NYC Bus Charters. They are the leader when it comes to this. They have friendly and courteous staff I’ve read. Their buses are nice too, it’s well maintained and even has a lavatory. I’d love to take their tailored custom tour, having to sit in their comfortable and reclining seats. This is really very important to me as I get tired easily. I need all the comfort I can get. I think you’d like it the same way. Before I forget, let me mention that they offer discounted transfers for groups. You get a 10 percent discount too if you book or purchase tickets in advance. They also do airport transfer by the way. So the next time you go to NYC especially if you are in large groups, don’t forget this superb service.

Tired But Happy

Posted by girlie on August 27, 2008

I just got home from Trinoma. My daughter Ish chose that mall to have her pre-birthday celebration with her friends. All girls. I treated them to Super Bowl and to a movie (Smother). The movie was funny. Liv Tyler is very pretty. I love Diane Keaton too, she’s one of my favorites. I also played with my son Josh at Timezone, as usual we played Tekken 6. There were times that I won, but many times I lost. It’s fun playing with my son, bonding time. I didn’t shop for clothes since I am saving my money for that P&S camera I asked somebody to buy in Hong Kong. I think I am finally getting it. I was tempted to buy this Maxi dress that I saw, but I just closed my eyes and pretended not to see it. It was difficult, but thank God I won over some unnecessary wants.

I was touched when my daughter kissed and thanked me for the pre-birthday thingy. She said she had fun. Your welcome dahling, anything for you my daughter.

Rosy’s Discovery

Posted by girlie on August 26, 2008

I guess by now you already have watched the series of video of The Sproutwells. Who do you like best if I may ask? I love Rosy, I like how she is being nosey with everything. And now she knows where those packages are coming from. I do too, and it’s from freshfunds. Have you checked what’s in there? Did you know that aside from the healthy food they talk about, you can also bid on some cool stuff? I’d bid on a Wii Fit. I’ve been eyeing that since it was out. But the thing is it’s kinda pricey, maybe if I take part in the bidding, I would end up getting it at a much lower price. Go check on the other things you can bid on. Oh watch the video too, it’s funny how Ruby gave the water to Rosy.

My Lil Critic

Josh: Mom, you need to color your hair. You look old.
Me: Oh yes, I will, I just can’t find time to do it, I’m sorry.
Josh: (thinking that I felt bad) No Mom it’s ok. Anyway you are in your 40s already. But you look 50(ish).
Me: Ok, ok, I’ll do it tomorrow. (note to self: get your @ss off and dye)

This boy of mine would always tell me with all honesty what he thinks. What he thinks of my outfit, what he thinks of my new hairstyle, what ever different he will take notice. He would always come to me and tell me. I love him for that, and I believe what he says (kids don’t lie, right?), LOL. He was the one who said that jet black hair does not suit me…I look like a witch, bwaaaahhh.

Control Blackheads

Posted by girlie on

Ish my daughter is starting to have blackheads and whiteheads. This is really bothering her, and she is always asking me to bring her to the dermatologist and have a facial. It can get very costly if I’ll bring her once a month. What I did was search for a product that will control and put a stop to it. I found some top rated treatments for blackheads and I might consider using it on her. I can use it too since I have lots of blackheads too. It’s just too much oil I guess. But oil is necessary to lubricate the skin, but there’s a downside to it, too much oil can cause blackheads and acne. I think I have found my product. What I like about it is it’s very easy to use, just one-step. It’s tiring to be putting one product after another.

On Top of my Wishlist

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket Dang! I have a lot in my wish list. I’m sure all of you have a lot too. But the question is, will I be able to get all of them? I don’t think so. Haha I answered my own question. I should know because a lot in my wish list I can’t afford, lol. Anyone can wish right? Who knows my fairy godmother will grant it, or is it fairy godfather. Duh! But I really want to have an iPhone. I’m so envious with my daughter although hers is not 3g. She got it when she had her vacation in the US last summer. Oh it was my gift to her. I think that’s how Moms are, they put aside their wants in favor of their children’s wants. My daughter is a great fan of apple products. Then so be it. Now I’m thinking of getting one from Globe Telecom. I want to drop my postpaid line now, but I don’t want to let go of my number. It’s special and easy to remember. Now what do I do? I don’t know yet. It’s either I’ll start saving to buy the 16gig unit of ask someone from the US to get it for me for $600. I think I’ll just have to wait until the hackers here in PI can do something and make it open line. Yeah…that’s what I’m gonna do. Mean time I’ll just set aside that want…will remain in my wish list for how long? I don’t know.

Great American Seafood Recipe

Posted by girlie on

Did you cast your vote in the ongoing Great American Seafood cook off? I just did. Gosh the top 5 recipes created by the different chefs from different states are all awesome. But of course I have my big favorite which is the creation of Chef Tafari Campbell of Maryland. Not that Maryland has a special spot in my heart, but really I like his simple creation. Going through the ingredients, I just know that this recipe is delicious. It looks like it’s very light in the stomach. I go for food that is light in the stomach, the ones that don’t give you a bloated feeling. I also like the fact that he didn’t use too many different ingredients, with that the fish, shrimps and crabs do not lose their flavor. I love carrots but I am not actually a great fan of peas, but with the way he prepared this recipe, eventually I would like peas. It’s probably the mixture with the different ingredients that would make me want peas again. I’ve always loved seafood. I prefer them over meat, and in my opinion, it’s healthier to have seafood. I am allergic to seafood actually but you know I can’t stay away from them. I always bring with me my medicine in case I get allergic to it. See how I love seafood? I was really very happy to finding out about this contest…seafood contest at that. And yeah you can try it at home since they provided the ingredients and the procedure. I think I’m gonna do that, so that I will be able to know how it would taste like. I would know too if I made the right choice. How about you? Start voting for your favorite recipe now. It’s simple, just go to www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com for a chance to win a trip to New Orleans. You can also download the recipe.

Me Want This

Posted by girlie on August 25, 2008

Photobucket I am planning to buy that. I’m asking someone to buy it for me in Hong Kong. I think it’s very much cheaper there. Here it costs P30,999 at authorized dealers. In the US, they sell it only for $349.99. Can you imagine the difference, it’s double the price when you buy it here. I wonder how much that is in Hong Kong. I already found out, it’s $385 usd but you can buy it at a lower price in the black market. Wahoo, I just hope I can get it. It’s 13.6 megapixel, well I am not really after that. It’s the auto macro mode I am dying to have, 5 cm minimum. It’s got an anti-scratch premium titanium body which is really cool. Initially I wanted the T300 model, but I didn’t like the touch screen feature, for whatever reason I don’t know, hehe. I don’t also like how you need to slide it to turn it on. You know the problem with flexi-wires, or whatever it is called. The sony I’m using right now needs to retire, haha not for anything else but because it jurassic, the thick and heavy one. We bought it in Singapore in 2004, 4 years service, not bad.

Free Phone Chat

Posted by girlie on

Have you heard about this free chat line service? It’s phone chat by the way. It’s a way of meeting new friends. This is already getting big since a lot of people find it more exciting talking on the phone, rather than typing away. I would choose phone chat over typing. I like the spontaneity of talking on the phone. And who says teens are into chats these days? Adults are starting to like adult chat too. Now that you know about this free line service, join and start burning the chat lines.

A Glass a Day

Posted by girlie on

A lot of my friends say that it’s hard looking for a present for me. Now let me tell you what I like. Since I am so much into wines this days (red wine actually), I would be happy to receive personalized wine or any wine for the matter. It would be better if you pick wines from around the world. Golly, why am I getting so demanding? But on the other hand, I would appreciate it if a friend would tell me what she likes so I won’t have a hard time thinking of what to give. Am I right? I admit, there are really instances that you can’t think of anything to give especially to those ones who almost have everything. Something personalized would do. I’ve always appreciated presents that are personalized. It makes me feel special. I see the effort of the giver that is why I really appreciate it. Well not that I don’t appreciate the gifts that I get. It’s just that personalized gifts are more special. Since we are talking about wines, it reminded me of these wine accessories that I need to get. I need an extra wine rack to properly store the wines I have at home. It’s only now that I realized that I still need to buy a lot. Since I hit the big 40, I got so much into wines (red wine actually). I read that a glass of red wine a day is good for the heart. Since I come from a family with history of heart ailment, a glass a day has become very important to me.

New Domain

Posted by girlie on

Wee! I just bought another domain name…nah not for me this time although I wanted to get a (dot)me since KC got herself one already. But thinking about it, I don’t think I have the time to manage a 5th blog, plus the fact the I don’t know what to do it with yet. The name sounded good though, well let’s see. If I dream about it later when I go to bed, then that’s a sign, I will buy it the moment I wake up. Anyway the domain I bought is for the hubs. It’s for his photography. I’ll let you know about it once it up. He used to own a domain name but he forgot to renew it. Now somebody owns it and wants to sell it to him at $4000, goodness gracious.

Looking for a Web Host?

Posted by girlie on August 24, 2008

I committed the mistake of not looking well enough when I decided to have my own website. The web host I first contacted gave me a lot of problems. So I decided to change web host. But this time around I went to a see the top ten webhosting providers first. I wanted to make sure that I am getting my money’s worth. So if you’re thinking of getting yourself a domain, go scout for top rated web hosts first. Better yet read some tips first before deciding to get one. I should have done that, but you know sometimes lessons are learned the hard way. I was basically new to getting domains and stuff, but now I know better.

My Lil Chef

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket Josh brought that home yesterday from his Saturday activity which is cooking. Seems like my son is really serious about wanting to be a chef. Cooking for boys is what he chose for his Saturday activity in school. Honestly I liked what he picked. It would prepare him to what he wants to become someday. Yeah I think he is serious about wanting to be a chef. Like today he helped out in the kitchen. He wanted to overcome his fear of using a knife, so I let him cut some meatballs. He was also our cook. Pardon me if I can’t show you pictures, he does not want to be photographed.

Prevent Hair Loss

Posted by girlie on

Do guys really get affected when they start losing their hair? I have noticed that whenever there are gatherings, the first thing a guy notices is the hair. This is especially true when they have not seen each other in a long time. Believe me, there are always side comments or unsolicited comments. Normally that person would be the center of jokes. Is it because he is bald that he looks funny? What’s with hair loss and men anyway? Big deal! I have a few guy friends who’s starting to have receding hairlines, I wonder if they know about Shen Min. It’s a hair nutrient, 100% all natural. It’s made from eastern wild rose which they call He Shou Wu. Don’t expect results in a few days though because hair will start to grow over time and it can bring back your original hair color. No more gray hair in other words. Funny how people expect some results after using the product for a short time. Like duh, even the hair of a newborn child takes months to grow. Maybe it’s improving actually but it can’t be seen by the naked eye just yet. When taking products such as this, one needs to be patient. Normally you can notice the improvement over time. I also read that when Shen Min is taken, it helps fight DHT (bad testosterone) in men. It is also said that DHT likes to attach itself to hair follicles making the growth slower. As a result man goes bald as they age. Now do you want to have the so called Shen Min Hair?

My Portable Stove and Griller

Posted by girlie on

Photobucket Wahoo finally I was able to buy the portable stove and the griller. I don’t like to use this griller anymore because it takes years to cook the food, LOL. Really, I am not kidding. Anyways we had pork bulgogi last night. I bought some romaine lettuce which wasn’t really that fresh anymore to go with the bulgogi. I spread a little chili paste (which you can buy at any korean grocery) on the lettuce then wrapped the meat. It’s yummy. You can also use hoisin sauce if you don’t like it spicy. Josh was our cook that night and he’s gonna be our cook tomorrow over at my in-laws because we are going to have korean fest. I’ll make hotpot  for FIL who really loved it the first time I sent some to them.  Looking forward to tomorrow, I know it’s gonna be fun!

Did Your Charm Work?

Posted by girlie on August 23, 2008

What if a guy in a restaurant or a bar approaches you and asks for the time? Like duh, can you do better than that? I’d rather he comes up to me and say hi and be honest with whatever intentions he has. If he wants to be friends or if he finds me interesting, then there is a better way to say it than ask for the time. Grrrr, its like the hours I spent to look pretty has been put to waste. Boo! All of a sudden I feel less pretty. Darn why can’t men think of a better way to know a woman. Geez before I hyperventilate, let us play the Extreme Style by VO5 Ultimate Flirting Challenge. Let’s see how we fare with our flirting. Who is the expert in flirting, a man or a woman. Take the challenge now, I just did, and of course my charm still works.

16 and still COUNTING!

Posted by girlie on

August 22nd marks our 16th wedding anniversary.  I woke up to a bunch of pretty red roses handed to me by the hubs.  He never fails giving me flowers on our anniversary.  That’s what I admire in the hubs, he never fails to amaze me.  He is still very romantic which is really good because I am not.  I hate to admit it, but really he is the more demonstrative one.  He never forgets to say I Love You at any time of the day.  He hugs at any time of the day too.  I am blessed for having to spend the rest of my life with him.  We may have disagreements which is normal, but I am happy to tell you that it does not last.  Ah we are getting old, nah let me rephrase that. Maturity is more like it.

We had lunch at Friday’s in MOA.  We both had baby back ribs and some fries.  Funny he had to ask me if he can bring home the remaining ribs and bones for his dog.  He thought I would get embarrassed, hell no, what is a doggy bag after all?  After lunch we proceeded to Cartimar to buy the grill top I sooo wanted to have.  I already bought the stove at Ace Hardware.  I didn’t find the kind of grill that I wanted, but ended up buying another kind which is ok too.  I got worried that we won’t be having anything for dinner, coz we got in traffic.  Golly 3 hours of driving a stick drove me nuts.  Being the driver is all I can offer as an anniversary present, teehee!

On Vacations

Posted by girlie on August 22, 2008

Our trip to Las Vegas is really memorable, even my kids have the fondest memories of Las Vegas. We stayed in a posh hotel, that’s what my son considered it, and yeah I agree with him. The 4 hour drive from California to Las Vegas went smooth. Nobody in the coaster slept because of a lot of funny stories to listen too. The ride was very relaxing although not much can be seen, just never ending road it seems. On our way there, we stopped by an outlet to shop and eat, now I can’t remember the name of the place. Anyways, it was funny because more than anything else, we (me and my daughter) were interested in the shopping than eating. We would pretend not to be hungry well in fact the long drive made us. We would rush from one shop to the other like there was no tomorrow. And guess what? We ended up buying only a single item since we didn’t have enough money to spend. It was already the last stretch of our US vacation. Plus we wanted to see more of Las Vegas. Nope we didn’t gamble, gambling is not just for me and my family. We walked past the strip admiring all the beautiful hotels, the hubs enjoyed taking pictures. Oh we were able to watch a show too, The O Show, golly it was awesome. We didn’t see much of Vegas though because of time constraints. But I promised myself to go back and this time I’m going to take one of the Las Vegas tours. I missed a lot I know, because when one of my friends asked me if I was able to see this and that, all I could answer was, no I have not been there. It’s also nice to consult or read through online travel guides for a more pleasant trip. At least you have an idea to all the must see places in the State you are going to visit. It saves time you know. Oh don’t forget to go and see Madame Tussauds wax museum, it’s really worth it. I’ve seen it and had a great time posing with “Brad Pitt” “Madonna” and “Marilyn Monroe”.

Before I forget, since we have plans of visiting Las Vegas once again, I think I will need to sign up with Trusted Tours & Attractions’ latest promo. Who knows I will be able to win the $150 Magellan’s Gift Certificate by signing up for their newsletter. Not only that, all information from the newsletter would be important to my travel plans.
