Extended Vacation
Posted by girlie on June 9, 2008
The kids were suppose to go back to school on the 5th. Then it was moved to 12th, now it’s moved to the 17th. What? “The construction for the college is not done yet”, said my daughter. This happened last school year too. My boy started school last week of June, can you believe that? I don’t understand why they still haven’t finished the construction until now. They could have gone overtime on this. Now the students are sufferring. Learning would be quite fast paced. What will happen to students who can’t cope up with the situation? Let’s face it, not all students has the capacity to absorb everything in so short a time. Teachers will cram just to be able to follow the curriculum on schedule. Why can’t the school officials be sensitive on this matter?
Kids are happy over the extended vacation, my children included. Another 2 weeks break is just big time for them. And why not? They find studying in that school quite stressful, now double that because of the extended break.

Actually teachers don’t like it when they are not able to finish the entire syllabus for the school year. It messes up their scheduling.
