This is the reason why I want to buy round sizzling plates. I asked my MIL where I can buy it, and she said there’s a lot of those at Echague in Quiapo. I have not gone there yet, but I plan to do so this coming week. The family loves to eat what’s in the picture. I guess I can try and make those. There are a lot more recipes you can do with the sizzling plate I think, I have to look it up though. But once I have it, there’s no stopping. It’s just hard to store those sizzling plates since it’s made of cast iron. They say that before keeping it, you should wipe some oil to avoid rust.

It’s a National Ice Cream Contest. All you need to do is create your own signature creation and promote it to your friends and convince them to buy it. Easy peasy! Here is how you can whip your own signature colleciton. Use the ingredients found at any Cold Stone Creamery. Give it a name and let your friends try it, then they can go online and vote for it. If you get the most number of votes, you will have the chance to move forward to the next rounds, until the voting deadline which will be until the end of December 2008.
If only I was qualified to join, here’s what I’m coming up with. I would pick 3 flavors namely, cheesecake, mint and dark chocolate. Macadamia nuts would taste good with these 3 combination, so I would probably add some. A little whip cream would look good on top with a sprinkle of cinnamon and some chocolate shavings. Hmmm, now what would I call it? CheesyMintyChocolatey Good. Yeah that’s it, I’d like all the flavors defined. Now go and try it, tell me if it’s good. You can whip your own creation by entering the contest. I’m calling on everyone ages 13-19. This is your chance to win $30,000 in prizes. It’s simple and easy, plus you might get famous with your signature creation.

Sometimes I do think whether I am really a girl ^_^. I remember playing a lot of games for boys when I was younger. Yes I played with dolls but I wouldn’t last that long. Maybe one of the reasons why I was “tomboyish” when I was younger is because I often played with my brother. I would do boy stuff with him. This might be one of the reasons too why I go for big watches. I don’t know but I have a certain fascination for that. My wrist is small, but I appreciate wearing big watches. Those are my 3 collections of biggie watches. Hubby was kind enough to lend me his junior watch. That is actually the size I find perfect for my wrist. I will have it adjusted so I can wear and enjoy it. Yay!

I am indeed so happy that almost everyone can now own a PC. I really find it very useful, and not only that there are a lot more benefits one can get having a computer at home. I know everyone will agree with me, that having one at home makes “life” easier. There are a lot of things that can be done especially if you have internet connection. The reason why I’m saying that almost everyone can now own a PC because you can build a PC for $150. Isn’t that affordable? Owning a PC before was like for the rich only because of the price. Prices of PCs ten years ago is now equivalent to buying 5 or more PCs nowadays if you know how to go about it. You will be surprised to find out that you can now buy a motherboard with CPU for only $67 something. I am not kidding really. Here is the guide that will allow you to buy the Bargain PC I am talking about. I already went through the specifications and it seemed ok. I’m no pro at building computers, but almost all the brands they used are brands that I am familiar with, and this includes famous brands. Don’t get scared if you don’t know how to put it together, the instructions are easy to follow. But if you still can’t follow, there are a lot of books available to help you go through the steps once more.

I am not aware if we have House clearance here. This is actually my first time to come across that kind of service. I think it would be beneficial to many. This is true especially if you have accumulated so much stuff and you do not know how to dispose of it when you relocate. Why bother when someone professional can do it for you, this would mean less stress on your part. Moving is a pretty tough job that sometimes problems arise. These problems could be avoided if we only know how to find ways and means. Getting a house clearance service means they will clear the property for you, leaving it clean and tidy, ready for sale or ready for transfer to the landlord. Now you ask, what if the contents inside the house have value? They are going to pay you if it exceeds the cost of clearance. You might also be wondering how they are going to dispose all the contents found inside the house. This company work with charitable institutions, and you are ensured that these contents will be put to good use. They have a policy of re-use which makes it environmentally friendly. They just don’t dump things at the local waste site. Before I forget, they also do probate valuation services. This is valuing household items of all types. This will give you an idea of the market value of the contents left by a deceased loved one. They offer their services both house clearance and probate valuation internationally.

Remember this entry? He is still lazy to use it, he says it’s boring. He has a point, coz I find it boring too. So I thought of a way, why not put a television set with DVD player so that you won’t notice the time while walking or running? True enough, he walked for 45 minutes, I didn’t hear a single word, just chuckles in between because of the movie he was watching (white chicks). For a 12 year old lazy butted kid (i hope he does not read this, lol) 45 minutes is quite an achievement. Oh he already lost 5 lbs., that’s from the exercise and the salad I feed him once in a while.

The kids are now in the stage that they go for rock and hip hop kind of music. I hear a lot of those here in the house, and if you scan their iPods, they have a lot of hip hop music. I actually find hip hop music cool and if you scan my iPod and the music I have stored in this laptop, you’ll be surprised to see that I have a lot of them too. For now I just hum when I listen to it mostly, all because I don’t know the lyrics. It would be wonderful to be able to sing it word per word since I found a site that provides Hip Hop Lyrics. My kids would be awed when they hear me sing with their music, and I only have one thing to say, I am a HiPnCoolMomma you know.

Goolay, I can’t stop buying. Good thing it’s not that expensive otherwise I’d be poor as a rat. I know I promised not to buy until I finish doing the rest of my projects, but I really can’t stop myself. Now I’m thinking of starting two more since I discovered new textures in knitting. I’m excited to see the outcome that’s why I’m gonna start soon. For now I only know how to do a scarf, I haven’t explored doing other things yet, but I know I’ll get there soon. Seems like I am serious with what I’m doing, funny but it’s my relaxation.

Anime and Manga Series are very popular among children nowadays. We actually have a few Manga books at home. For a time, my kids were quite interested with Manga. My son even showed me a drawing of a Manga Character he learned from the internet. I asked him the name of the character he drew, but at that time he didn’t have a name for it yet. Since we are talking about names, mine would be Junko Mayu. I chose that name because of its meaning, obedient, genuinely pure child, while the later means gentle and superior. It’s a nice combination of name for a Manga character. It would be wonderful to see that character in Bleach the Movie. The Bleach: Memories of Nobody is an animated film adaptation of anime and manga series Bleach. The film was released in 2006 at Japanese Theaters and will have its North American debut on June 11 and 12. Seating will be limited since it will be shown for 2 nights only. Advance tickets are now available by going to fathomevents.com. Just enter your zip code in the find theater box to be able to know which theaters the film is showing. Get your tickets early so you won’t miss your chance to watch.

These photos were taken when we had a wedding coverage at Subic Yacht Club some time ago. When I saw those flags I immediately thought of LP. Hmm, file photo. Wind is the one causing the movement of the flags. It can’t be seen but only felt. I was supposed to add another photo of the Philippine Flag which my son asked me to buy. I forgot about the day totally so I was not able to take a picture.

Shh, just between you and me, I have a secret to tell you. A lot of people thought that I’ve been using real plants inside the house. Truth is I have both. See, they can’t even distinguish. The silk plants I have at home look so real, this is because of the kind of quality materials used. I can say that they are of high quality. I love having these plants at home, it adds beauty to the interior of the house. I’m no longer buying real plants since I observed that it causes at lot of work for our helpers. It’s no joke bringing out the plants every two days for some sunlight and water. We all know that plants will die without some water and sunlight. I really pity the helpers carrying the heavy pots since I know for a fact that it can be avoided. There is another point to consider too not having real plants inside the house. Kids are very sensitive to pollens particles and I don’t want them to catch allergies because of these plants. I am also very careful now since the dengue outbreak. With the use of faux plants, problems with insects will be minimized. You too should start using faux plants instead of real ones. Let us all help in preserving natural plants.

We first went to Shangri-la Mall to buy school stuff for the kids. Nope, I was not allowed to browse (window shop) by my youngest son simply because he was already too excited to play Tekken6 at Promenade in Greenhills. I know I would be spending a lot of time waiting, so I brought with me my knitting project. Actually I bring it with me anywhere so that whenever I get bored I can work on it. I stayed at Starbucks for more than 2 hours, later joined by my daughter who got bored playing at Timezone. I noticed that people are not used to seeing someone knit, as I got a lot of side glances. There are some who come up to me to ask what I was doing. Knitting is something new I guess, since people are so accustomed to seeing a crochet hook instead. Nobody would ask what I am doing if they see a crochet hook, but with the knitting needles, some find it amusing.

I read somewhere that the world demand for silver bars now exceeds production. This is so because throughout the years silver is used as the primary monetary metal. Not only that, silver has gone really popular with jewelry. Everywhere I go, I see people wearing silver jewelry. I therefore conclude that this is the best time to invest in silver. Silver is also most commonly used in as an industrial commodity because of its unique properties. It is also widely used in different health care products because of its antibacterial characteristics. Ah no wonder the demand for silver exceeds production. It is mainly because of its unique properties. If you want to invest in silver, monex.com is the best source. This company is America’s best dealer when it comes to precious metals simply because of their competitive prices. They have a pool of dedicated staff to help assist you in your investment needs.

My family once owned a Wrangler Jeep. There was a time that it was an “in” thing to own a wrangler jeep here. It was the first vehicle I was allowed to drive on my own. How cool is that? There were not many Wrangler Jeeps at that time and I would notice that whenever I was cruising the streets, I would turn a lot of heads. Err, I mean the jeep I was driving. My Dad wanted to sell it after a few years thinking that we will not be able to find jeep parts. But when the shop we were going to assured us that there were available Wrangler Parts, my father changed his mind. I enjoyed driving it a few years more until my Uncle wanted to buy it. He said that it fitted him more since he lived in the mountain side. My Dad agreed to sell it, and until this day my Uncle still uses it.
Now I noticed that most jeeps driven in this country are Grand Cherokees. It looks good too. And the nice thing about it, spare parts are readily available. This is really very important, so that when the vehicle breaks down, you can have it repaired right away. If you are a jeep owner, maybe this website can help you find the parts you have been looking for. They are selling quality jeep parts for over 10 years now at discount prices. They sell accessories too.

It was raining hard yesterday while we were in Greenhills. This is what it gives you when it rains hard and the a/c in establishments are not turned off. It’s scribble time! That was the door leading to Fully Booked, my daughter’s favorite bookshop. She can’t help but scribble her chinese name. Good thing the guard at the entrance does not seem to mind, but she did open the door when we started taking pictures. She just smiled and didn’t stop us when she saw that we were taking pictures of the thing on the glass door. We were like little kids, it was kinda odd to see us, something like “what are these people doing?” Ahhh we are just having fun, something that I believe is not often done by a mother and daugther tandem. Yes we both can be crazy sometimes and that makes me loved by my kids. And that is what you call a HiPnCooLMoMMa!

I am not talking about a small sum nor am I talking about a huge sum. All I can say is that I am satisfied with what I am making. It allows me to help my Mom and my other siblings, as well as buy some things that I sooo desire. For me it’s not actually all money, but I do learn a lot from doing advertising. There are certain things that set SocialSpark apart from their competitors. It promotes open relationships between Bloggers and Advertisers. Wee! Finally my chin is no longer infested with zits for 2 months now. Do you wanna find out the solution? Nope it’s not with the toothpaste although I was advised by the dermatologist to shift brands. I did, I’m now using a hypoallergenic toothpaste, but still it gave me zits. Now here’s the story. When I brush my teeth, I don’t use a glass to gargle water from. I use my hand. Barbaric isn’t it? LOL. So tendency is, toothpaste flows from my mouth to the chin which I conclude is the reason why I have zits on my chin. But since I started using a glass and being extra careful that no toothpaste touches my skin, it has improved little by little until the day that no zits appeared. Now the zits on the other part of my face, that I don’t have any explanation yet. Will keep you updated once I find out the reasons for the appearance of zits on some parts. How I wish I will be pimple free, gosh I’m no longer a teenager and I’ve had enough already.

Have you heard about ICD? ICD stands for implantable cardioverter defibrillator, a device used to treat dangerously fast heart rates. I come from a family with history of heart ailments and I have accepted the fact that anytime I can have a sudden cardiac arrest. A sudden cardiac arrest has claimed the lives of many according to statistics, since this sudden cardiac arrest occurs without warning. Now we have the option of having ICD implanted to treat this kind of disorder.

The weather we have right now is giving me a headache. It could be bright and sunny in the morning then all of a sudden it’s overcast. Crazy weather I may say. It sometimes spoils our activities. We are so ready to have fun in the sun, then suddenly it rains. I am not complaining here, am I? It just spoils everything. It gives me a headache too, the sudden change in temperature. If only I can stay inside a room with constant temperature then I wouldn’t be experiencing these terrible headaches. I don’t want to take anything for it too, since we all know that constant use of medication can also do harm to our vital organs. I wish I knew how to do something about the crazy weather.

I think I need a Keylogger, not for anything else but just to monitor what my kids are doing in this machine while I am away. Not that I don’t trust them, but sometimes they just have the wrong judgments. At their age, they can be gullible and can therefore be swayed easily. I just want to make sure that they go to websites appropriate for their age. I can’t be there to watch them 24/7. I am just thinking of my child’s safety online and by installing this software, I will be able to tell my child’s habits online. From there I will be able to lecture them on the sites they visit therefore harm can be avoided. There’s another feature of this software that I like too. It’s tiring to hit the save button every now and then. I do a lot of writing, and sometimes I get frustrated when something goes wrong. But with keylogger I am able to regain what I wrote. I find this very helpful. There are actually a lot more benefits when keylogger is installed. Even the activities of your employees can be monitored. Not that you actually want to spy with what they are doing. But we all know that working hours should be dedicated to working for the company and not for some other personal things.

We celebrated Hannah Angela’s 7th birthday last Saturday. It was held at McDonalds. I saw the excitement in her eyes the moment she stepped at McDo. She was very very happy. I was designated as the official photographer, err I volunteered. N took a video of the celebration. It was fun, everyone enjoyed young and old. I know this will be a memorable birthday celebration for her.

Are you satisfied with the services rendered by the bank where you maintain your account be it savings or current? Is it something like what WaMu offers when you open a Savings Account? I really like the features and benefits it offers. I especially like their online banking feature and it’s for free. This means I can bank anywhere and at anytime. I don’t need to go to the bank personally, sometimes having to go through long lines just to be able to transact. Now we can do it right at the comforts of our homes. It saves a lot of time and energy and gas money too. We all know that the price of gasoline is constantly going up, saving a trip to the bank means a lot. I used to wonder whether it is safe to do banking online. I’ve come to realize that it is, since they are using the latest technology to ensure that all information are safeguarded. Another online feature is letting you pay bills. Again you don’t need to go anywhere to settle your bills because almost everything can be done online already. Even electronic statements are available and it’s for free. This is what you call banking at its best.

This is for everyone who wants to have a vavavooom body. I know some of you resort to taking diet pills. Why don’t you read some diet pills reviews first before deciding what to take. I feel that this is really important, not only with diet pills but with every product we purchase. I already made this a habit. Every time I like something, I look for product reviews first to know more about the product. Most often than not, product reviews play a major role in my decision to purchase anything. Sometimes it is my deciding factor. So far so good.

I read this entry in one of my blogrolls. I did the usual thing, comment on the entry which I normally do whenever I visit her blog. It was casual, no anger whatsoever. Readers were asked to enlighten her, filipino community in particular. I’m publishing 2 of her entries (original content), including my comment and the other comments as well.
Asian Women on American Men
I’ve noticed a huge community of Filipino’s ladies marrying the American or Canadian men and i read in one blog about how this nice Filipino woman was looking to introduce to her cousin a good man from the West. I’m sure her intentions are good .. and everything nice.. but I’ve also seen some who are married to alot older man than they themselves are.
I do wonder many a times.. if it was really for love..?? or a passport outta poverty…?? I, myself am married to a white man.. and I’m very sure.. that most Asians agree with me.. that it is not a bed of roses.. nor paradise on earth. I know when PB and I got together.. the white women here.. weren’t too pleased.. because I snagged one of the eligible bachelor in town. Some were quite hostile too. On top of all .. the weather.. is harsh every year on me… and i resent Winter time.. in fact i hate it with a passion.
Shouldn’t one marry for love.. and not for looks.. and educational background.. or financial background..?? Is a union so filmsy.. that you just jump onto the bandwagon .. at the first sight of a white man..?? Is there really true love..?? i see some really odd couples on the net.. and I do wonder. Maybe someone can enlighten me.. from the Filipino community..?? I have a real life example in PB’s family. But that would be another story for another day.
My Comment:
1. Hmmm, it’s quite unfair to judge why women marry someone not from their own race. I’m sure this is not only happening to filipina women, there are a lot of women out there who want to marry foreigners. They may have their own reasons for marrying foreigners, let’s just leave it at that. We really do not know their intentions but I’m sure it will benefit them.
Maybe one of the reasons why “white” men marry filipinas is because of certain qualities that they admire in them. Filipina women are known to really take care of their husbands. This is generally speaking. We possess a certain quality, sometimes forgetting about ourselves and putting others first before us. This is really admired.
If you happen to come across filipino-american/canadian marriages that failed, it happens to other races marrying “white” men too.
With regards to filipina marrying a very much older man, I’ve seen a lot of successful marriages of that kind, so it’s unfair to generalize.
This is just my opinion. Btw, I’m filipina __________.
*And it does not end here…here’s the next entry:
What’s Your Perception?

It is funny how people would jumped in defense without really looking deeper into a situation .. or the blogging material and am so ready to wear an armor and defend their own kind. I was once upon a time this way too.. but not anymore… i always take at least a day.. to soak and decipher before acting on stuff now. Maybe i’m getting old eh.
It took me a few days to pen down my thoughts about the post about Asians marrying the “whites” and what exactly was on their mind. Maybe I worded it wrongly .. but my concern was the young Asian women out there .. coming here with hopes and dreams that may not come true. Marrying a foreigner is not your regular fairy-tale, Cinderalla story, some may not find your Prince.
As Girlie from HipnCoolMomma had pointed out that there are many successful union.. of the younger Asian gals.. and the older “white” man… and I’ve no doubt about it. C’mon.. i too am married to one.. and I too have a somewhat successful union (i would like to think).
This is not targeted to just the Filipinas .. but seeing a cousin advertising for her younger cousin of 20 yrs of age, sorta irks me. Maybe it’s the way it was worded..?? maybe because she is a beautiful young lady, maybe because I’m someone who marry a “white”. But life is hard in a foreign country. I cannot speak for others.. but i sure miss home like hell. In retrospect, I am very lucky and blessed to have met a good man.. who didn’t beat me up.. or grope me in public.. or swear at me.. or who is a drinker.. nor a gambler.. or someone who expects me to have a kid every year so we can all collect welfare. Basically, I didn’t get a monster for a spouse but what about those who “might” not meet the right guy ..??
1. I’m concerned for young Asian girls marrying older men, not only the whites but Japs, Taiwanese, Singaporeans and Malaysians old men.
It’s tough to be alone in a strange country and only having seen the men’s photo.
You are lucky, _____________. There are many girls who are not.
Comment by ______________ — May 22, 2008 @ 7:54 am
2. Hey _________, I understand your point. Some people do take it the wrong way, especially when you are talking about a certain race. It’s your blog so you can write what you want
I have seen too many cases like these….women from China or Vietnam, marrying Msian men who are as old as their father
Comment by _____________ — May 22, 2008 @ 10:29 am
3. You are absolutely right, __________! Living abroad is not easy, as ppl say is not your land. We are lucky…to have good hubbies. But my case is different as mine is Asian.
Comment by ____________ — May 22, 2008 @ 11:42 am
4. the adage rings true: “the grass is always greener on the other side.”
well, till one steps on it anyway.
for a woman without education in a economically impoverished country and political instability, that dream will always be to marry ‘up’. and better still, marry to the West where they believe stability reigns true.
it’s a gamble many will take.
Comment by _____________ — May 22, 2008 @ 11:58 am
5. if you remember, you singled out filipinas and that’s what bothered me, (even if you referred to another filipina blog advertising her cousin) that’s why i stressed in my comment that it can happen to anyone. i know you have every right to write what you feel because it’s your blog (like what one of your commenters pointed out), i have no problem with that. I didn’t even question that you wrote it. I just commented on your entry and did not even ask your entry to be erased. I just wrote what I felt and I had to read it not only once but a few times before I wrote my comment. Yes I came to the defense of my race, but only to show you that not all filipinas are like that, and that’s it only. I just didn’t feel comfortable about you singling out filipinas. It was constructive and I didn’t comment to put you down.

*Note: My title is based on the picture (filename:fight) you see above which was in her second entry. Nope I am not picking a fight or however you may call it. I was objective in my comment. I’m not one who picks fights easily. I will always come to the defense of my race if need be, whether I am young or old. But I will always look at it objectively. I intentionally withheld the names with hopes that it will end here. Like I said, I am not one to pick up a fight, I know how to choose my battles.**
