I really love checking out this furniture store. You see the picture on the left? That is the type of furniture that I really want. Just a simple one but very elegant. They actually have a lot of choices and sometimes I just really cannot make up my mind. It’s like I want everything that I see in that store. Yes I am still in the look for furniture since I feel like our house is still empty. I can hear the echo of every sound. It proves to show that we need to fill it up.
You need to take a look at their bedroom furniture too. There are some nice pieces that I’d love there. Pieces that you see in home magazines, the ones being featured in bedrooms. I have always admired the arrangement and the kind of furniture featured in magazines. And as much as possible, I try to get some idea from it. Haha, I can’t admit that I copy. I do, but let’s just put it this way, I just get the inspiration from those magazines. Now comes my frustration. We do have something like this living room furniture but it seems like it’s not as beautiful as what I see in the pages of magazines. There is something missing and I think I already know what. The walls are plain. Yep, no painting or whatever hanging in the walls. To compensate, maybe I should add a little more living room furniture like an entertainment center perhaps?
I was suppose to teach the the chairman’s bet for Miss Sta. Ana a belly dancing routine to be used for the talent portion. I was able to teach her the intro only, then she suddenly gave up. I can see that she has the grace to dance, but since she is new to belly dancing, she was quite unsure on what to do plus the fact that she was not really confident in what she was doing. But I think she can learn it if only she takes away the awkwardness and shyness. Anyway, we ended up having a photo shoot instead. I wanted to find out if she registers well in pictures. And since Cuz was already there together with her daughter Queenie, I took the opportunity to shoot them as well. I want her back, this time with curly hair, I believe I can do more, and of course with a little makeup. She was like bare when we did this shoot. You can see me in action here.
If you notice, I don’t have anything hanging on walls of our house. I admit that I am quite sad by this. The house would look more beautiful and homey if there are paintings hanging on the walls. I’ve already talked to my husband about it, but until now I still don’t have his go signal to purchase even one painting. There’s this painting I soooo love at Park West Art Gallery. It’s really beautiful and looks like it was custom made for our house. I hope this time when I mention it to hubby I will get his approval. I wonder if my convincing skill still works on him. Ah, maybe more charm is needed to have a thumbs up from him.
Weekend was spent quietly at my Mom’s place. As usual she served us a very delicious lunch. I had fun taking pictures of the flowers, they were all in bloom and it was just a lovely garden. It showered a bit and the raindrops on the flowers was just awesome.
I also asked my brother to drive me to the mall to get my knitting needle. I was just excited to start knitting. To get the hang of it, I practiced first. It was a bit frustrating at first because I couldnt get it right away. But when I started getting it right, there was no stopping.
I just love it whenever I find Online Promotional Code. It gives me the chance to buy the items that I really find pricey. I don’t know but I’m usually like that. I wait til I get a good deal before buying the item. I don’t have a problem with style because most of the stuff I pick are really conventional, thus it does not run out of style. Like this dress by Vera Wang, I really like it a lot but it’s a little pricey. Good thing I found an online deal. Haha, this is the price I get for being online most of the time. I really get to find good deals and discounts. Ah which reminds me, I need to buy these makeup brushes. I’ve been wanting to have these sable brushes for a long time now. It’s really soft compared to the others. I can ask my sisters to get it for me online. Thank God for sisters in the US, they can get me the stuff I want anytime. Gosh there is so much I like. I also want to buy a new mobile phone, like the one my daughter bought when she had her vacation in the US earlier this month. Darn I should have asked her to get one for me too, but at that time I was not really decided on buying. Maybe because I partly believed on what other people has to say. But when I saw and lay hand on it, oh dear I wanna have it. Blessing in disguise though, because I just found a very good deal for it. If I asked my daughter to get it for me earlier this month, then I couldn’t have used this coupon. Wahoo for online deals!
I think this TV stint needs some explanation. There is a show on QTV called Day Off. They pick people from different work field to be given an day off. Then the show’s hosts take over. In this case our Belly Dancing Teacher was the winner and she was given a day off. Pekto took over the class. But before that we had to teach him some basics of belly dancing. That explains me in a white top teaching Pekto some basic moves. Come class time, he took over (me in blue midrib). The other students were on holiday (it was taped Monday after the Holy Week) so there was only 4 of us. If not for this show, I would not be seen on TV. This is actually my way of saying thank you to my belly dancing teacher for patiently teaching us. Throug belly dancing my posture was corrected, not that I have the best posture in the world, but I tell you it has improved a lot. It’s also through belly dancing that I got my little curves. I’m working on my tummy though, it’s still bloated. (Note: been dancing since 2005) Pardon me if I recorded on the portion where I am seen. I’m scared to run out of memory in my compact flash. You see I recorded this using my Sony P&S camera. Hhhhmmm and maybe because of a little narcissistic disorder?
I have two sisters living in America and they make it a point to keep in touch by calling at least twice in a month. I often call them too, what with the affordable calling cards we have now. My sisters have been using international calling cards to call my Mom. They say it’s a lot cheaper than using their mobile phones. They use this particular Philippines Phone Cards. They say that it’s one of the cheapest phone cards available. It’s actually very clear, we can hear them well. I also asked them if we were clear at their end, and they said it didn’t sound like an overseas call at all. They felt like they were also here in the Philippines. How about you? How often do you call your loved ones?
I know I’m addicted…I always bring it with me. Like last Thursday when we went to Greenhills to accompany hubby to a client call, this is what I did, over a cup of ice cream. I had to get some ice cream because I couldn’t sit in the cafe without getting something. I was able to add a few layers, now it looks like a bag already even without the handle. I don’t know when I will be able to finish this project since I started going into knitting. I find it more fun to knit, probably because I am new to it. So now you know why I got lots and lots of yarns. My first knitting project would be a scarf. I know I can’t use it here. But this is the easiest for a novice like me. I can always give it away anytime you know.
I really love this handmade cowboy boots. When I saw it online, I really fell in love with it. It has a 2 color combination, light blue and brown, and a square toe. It’s so pretty. It will really look good on a pair of denim mini skirt or a pair of jeans. I bet my daughter will love it too, to add to her collection. She’s fond of fashionable stuff. The episode in Day Off was shown yesterday. Haha I was excited to watch myself on telly. Yeah really. I even recorded it so I will be able to post it in my blog. Well I’m posting it so my friends and relatives who missed it can finally watch it. Darn, I could have smiled more, I would have looked good all throughout the show. But as what hubby says all the time, it would really show what you are, and in my case, I’m formal, and a bit of a snub. I dunno, I get tired smiling all the time, maybe I need more practice. I will be posting the episode in small parts so you guys will not have to wait long. So here’s the first part. Enjoy!
*Day Off is a television show shown every Saturday over at QTV hosted by Carmina Villaroel and Pekto. In this episode, my belly dancing teacher was given a day off and it was Pekto who took over the class. We had to teach him a little basic of belly dancing before the start of the class.
I think I need to upgrade my ram. If my daughter reads this, she would say the same thing. The ram that our laptops have right now is just too small for all the files including trash that we can’t part with. I guess my daughter needs it more really, because of all the music files she stores. I asked her to erase those that she does not listen too, but she insists that she wants to have it in her collection. The problem with erasing some songs, the moment she updates her iPod, that particular song she erased in her laptop will be gone in her iPod. Well that’s what she says. There is really no other recourse but to update her RAM to a larger one.

The darling doll is having the time of her life with these. You see she is only allowed to put this on when there’s no school. The school does not allow it, well any school for that matter won’t anyway. She has to wait til college (2 years from now). Gosh my darling doll has grown into a fine lady, how time flies. She now knows how to put eyeliner too. I gave her the black eyeliner with a little glitters I just recently bought from The Face Shop. It fits her and she’s pretty in it. Her Dad even noticed it, and said it’s pretty. Now what’s next? Makeup? Nah, I think she is too young to be painting her face, LOL.
This might be the solution to my sister’s problem. She has just moved to a new job and it is like an hour away to where she is staying right now. I’m not really sure is this Bucknell Rental is closer to where she works, but just to give her an idea, I’m going to post it in this blog. I know she is going to love the place. I was drooling when I saw some pictures of the apartment. True luxury at it’s best! I know she’d love the kitchen. She wants something like this since she started going to culinary arts school. It’s such a lovely place, and I’d be very excited to visit her in this place, say two years from now?
I was at Divisoria yesterday to buy YARNS in different colors for a project (which I haven’t decided yet). On the way to the yarn shop, I passed by the cloth stalls and I couldn’t resist buying these cloths. I already had a style in mind for the 2, but I just love the other color (aqua blue) so I bought it too. I have been searching for this kind of cloth and I am just lucky that I was able to find them. It does not cost much, considering the cloth is so soft, just perfect for the design I saw in a website. I’m bringing it to the couturier anytime soon and have it sewn. I can’t wait to wear them.
It’s summer time and there are a lot of outdoor activities that can be done. Normally company outing and picnics are scheduled during this time. Like last Saturday, I saw a big group wearing the same custom t-shirts. It turned out, they all belong to the same company. It’s nice to see all of them in the same shirt. Very easy to identify them. The shirt is a nice souvenir too. I remember my daughter asking money from me when school was about to end. Their class decided to have a “class shirt” ad they had it custom-made too. It’s actually very easy to design a shirt. Like in bluecotton.com, they have a design studio. You can either start designing from scratch or pick from their hundreds of templates. That’s what I bought when I went to Divisoria today. I figured it’s a lot cheaper there, rather than buying it in the mall. The yarn is soft, materials imported from Japan, but made in the Philippines. Not bad eh, 5.80 pesos (US$ .13) per ball. It does not say how long though, but I still consider it cheap. I bought about 80 of them in different colors. I was already excited to start knitting, but they didn’t have needles, BUMMER! I had no time to run to Mega Mall to buy some needles, I was already late for belly dancing class. I dunno if I have time to buy the needles tomorrow though, if not I’m getting it on Sunday, after church.

I saw this over at the dance studio. Hmmm, I think I want one! My bags need to breathe. It has suffered too much from the heat we have now, plus the fact that it gets very dusty to where it used to be. Hhmmp, when will the diggings ever stop, huh Maynilad? When I placed it in our room, it wasn’t pleasing to the eyes. Oh never mind, as long as the bags will be in better condition.
Why can’t I get enough of bags? Ah I am a woman afterall. And there’s more than enough space to fill some more, yehey!
I love going to trade show exhibits. I am always excited to see what’s being showcased there. Normally we do not find the items we see in exhibits in normal stores. Now you know the reason why I love going there. There are a lot of unique items to buy. Whenever in trade shows, I always hunt for stuff for the house. I love decors especially the unique ones. I wish I can find this kind of table covers, it’s nice and unique. And speaking of tables, I’ve been searching for this table top display which we can use whenever we work. I like that it’s portable so we can bring it anywhere, you know how mobile we are when it comes to our job.
Toys make our children happy. It’s like they can never have enough. I remember when my kids were still small, when you ask them where they want to go, they will always answer in unison, “We want to go to the toy store.” I actually let them grab toys of their choice. My little girl would pick a barbie doll and my boy would pick a robot. Then I would be picking two science toys for them or any educational toys for that matter. I’m glad that they find educational toys appealing too. I remember playing with them and they will always bombard me with questions, well simple ones though and I would answer them right away. This has helped them a lot especially when they started school. I’ve used those toys to explain some facts to them and they would easily understand. It’s different when you explain to them visually as I’ve noticed that they would be able to pick up easily. They find it interesting too and would not get bored learning. Learning should always be fun since kids have very low attention span. We as parents should find ways on how to teach our kids at home. There are a lot of educational toys we can give our kids and this sure will help them understand things simpler. My kids do not run out of educational toys. They have an aunt who’s fond of giving them educational toys in particular. She would gift them with science kits and we always enjoy playing with them. I too learn from it. It’s a nice way to refresh whatever I’ve learned from school many many years ago.
