I took this photo the saturday before Christmas Day. My weekend was spent baking cookies to be given away on Christmas Day. I was able to give to 13 loved ones (N’s side of the family). My daughter helped me out, she’s getting quite interested with baking and cooking. MIL said that the cookies tasted good. It’s actually the favorite of my kids and their dad.

I finally bought the one in the middle, the violet one. Remember I bought a black one sometime last month? I have my reason of buying another one (ahem! excuses!) I really have a hard time navigating having two different brands of phone. I am now very slow in sending sms using my sony ericsson, most of the time I have errors pressing the wrong key and in the end I get all my message erased, grrrrr! Now I’m enjoying both phones, I can now send messages without having to look what to press ^_^. I don’t know why I’m fascinated with flip phones, it has been my long time dream to own 2 flip phones. And since I am good this year, I was able to fulfill that dream.

I was down with a flu yesterday. Remember I was telling you guys that I can’t afford to be sick coz I had work? I tried waking up early to prepare for work but then I couldn’t move. Every time I tried to move, my whole body was in pain. I told N that I couldn’t help him with the coverage, because if I force myself to work, then I know I will be down and will be spending New Year in bed which I don’t really like. I slept the whole day yesterday, waking up only to have lunch and dinner. I tried to work a bit, just to meet some deadlines but I was able to do only one. It’s probably because of the medicines I took, it made me sleepy. I’m up and about, in fact I was able to go out awhile back to order california maki to be brought to the reunion tomorrow. I don’t wanna stress out myself from cooking, I might get a relapse. I can’t afford to get sick, classes will resume on the 7th and nobody will take care of the kids’ food.

I didn’t know that she was going to Rockwell that day, she didn’t know I was going either. Anyway, Rhea saw us at the grocery and she said that her Mum was there too. I was having my dinner at KFC when I saw her. She looked lovely, like a balikbayan (someone who has lived abroad). I complimented her looks. Apparently, I was not the only one who noticed it but my son too.
Josh: Tita, ganda mo! (Auntie, you’re beautiful) *while giving her a kiss and a hug*

With that he was given 1000 pesos as christmas present. My boy is growing up, yay! He used to really snub them whenever he sees them. But that day was totally different, even Kuya Rey and Rhea noticed it.

Despite the fact that I am sick, I still went out with one of my angel to do some more last minute shopping. I still have not gotten presents for my side of the family. We are going to have a big reunion on New Year’s Day at my aunt’s place. This big reunion happens only once a year and I’m looking forward to spend some bonding time with my family. All my dad’s relatives who live in Manila will be there.
We will be spending New Year’s Eve at my in-laws. This will be the first ever since we moved out in 1996. We are also looking forward to this. It will be fun spending New Year’s Eve with my FIL and MIL . I hope to get my camera before New Year’s Eve so that I can snap away and share some photos with you.
I hope to feel better tomorrow, I miss my “work”. We have a wedding coverage which I always look forward to.

Chairman Vanidosa finally had the time to chill out with me. But while with me, she still received a lot of text messages and calls pertaining to her being chairman. We had lunch at Teriyaki Boy (her favorite) and stuffed ourselves with japanese food. Had coffee at starbucks to continue with her mathematics ^_^. We then went shopping for a few items. It was a fun filled afternoon, a very nice way to bond with us Moms and our daughter.
She bought a bag hanger for herself but did not forget to get her bff as well. Thanks Cuz for being generous all the time. Hope we do this again after New Year.

We need to laugh and relax once in a while. Do you know what I do in between posting in my blogs? I go to this website where I can find lots and lots of jokes. I always end up having a tummy ache from laughing. I also need to know a lot of funny jokes, so that I will always have one ready in case it’s my turn to share a joke in the family. We always crack funny jokes during mealtime, so it’s better to be equipped with one or two. I hope my kids will not find out that I’m getting the jokes in this website.

This is one of Ish’s Christmas presents to me. She got a gift card from her cousins which was worth 10,000 pesos. She then asked me to accompany her to Fully Booked in Rockwell. While there, she asked me to pick a cookbook. I was really eyeing on a Rachel Ray, but then I didn’t really like what was on her cook book. But this one is really good. I can find almost all the ingredients needed. And I just feel that these are the kind of food that my kids and N want to eat. Woohoo, we have a new menu in the house, and I will be able to post the recipes that I already did. So guys don’t forget to visit my other blog. Haha, promoting! ^_^

We spent a lot on phone bills when we went to Hong Kong last summer. We had to call home everyday to check on our loved ones that were left behind. Now I already know what to do in order to avoid sky rocketing phone bills. Before we leave for our destination, I will make it a point to buy this phone card. So far this is the cheapest I found on the internet. They have this pinless and rechargeable phone card that can be used in any foreign country. I don’t need to use the hotel’s phone service which is also very expensive nor my cellular phone. And I don’t have to limit the number of minutes talking with family back home. Oh I can also use it to call my sisters in the USA. They are not home most of the time, so we hardly chat.

See that cute Christmas decor hanging on the door? I was supposed to buy that in Dapitan, but the owner of the store did not agree with my price. He was selling it for 550 pesos, and I was asking him to give it to me at 400 pesos. Even if I liked it so much, since he didn’t like to give me a discount, I went home empty handed. I was like thinking of it every night, short of dreaming. When we went to Mall of Asia on my son’s birthday, I saw it again. When I asked for the price, the girl said it was 300 pesos. If you know me (a cheapskate), I again asked for a discount. At first she didn’t want to give me one, but when I told her that I will be getting 2, she gave it to me at 250 pesos each. Lucky day indeed! I was really very very happy. Now I know, not everything you find in Dapitan is cheaper, some people can really take advantage.

Ever since I downloaded this plugin, my comment section has been swept clean from spambots. They really annoy me to the bones, because I had to go through hundreds of them a day just to double check if I have to de-spam other comments. I used to get annoyed filling up those boxes of random words, but now I understand. It’s triple the annoyance on the part of the blogger if they don’t install the plugin. And now I know who gets annoyed to the bones, it’s the SPAMMERS! Haha, good for you! For those people who still do not have this, don’t allow these spambots to pollute your websites, download it now, it’s free ^_^.

OMG! I can’t believe it! I didn’t blog for 3 days? Really? I was very busy taking care of a lot of things. I started cooking for our Noche Buena (Christmas Eve Feast) in the afternoon of the 24th. I prepared 2 kinds of pasta, buffalo wings, tenderloin steak, and fruit salad. I totally forgot about the ham and queso de bola. This is the first time that we didn’t have those two on the table. Even if there was just 4 of us plus our 3 “angels”, we had so much fun.
For those ones who still do not know, I made a soda free challenge for myself. This is really a struggle for me, so I’m making it known in my other blog. Making it public will somewhat help me stay out of it, because I have made my commitment known. Well Christmas day is an exception. As what my daughter said, “Mom, it’s ok, it’s Christmas!” But the next day, she reminded me. “Coke is over for you Mom.” I didn’t have soda for today, so yay for that.

When my daughter was younger, she was quite rowdy. I would often tell her that I will send her to a boarding school far far away until she changes her attitude. She would end up crying and automatically behaves herself. I have not mentioned boarding school to her in the last couple of years. Maybe when I mention to her now that I’m going to send her to Ivy Ridge Academy, she wouldn’t mind it being a boarding school. She really wants to study abroad, and if ever she’ll be given a chance, then I am going to consider Ivy Ridge Academy. I already went through their program and I like the strict discipline they impose on their students. I can be assured that after she finishes the program, she’ll come out a better person.

I got really really tired last night from baking. I started early in the afternoon and I was able to bake like 6 sets of cookies. Good thing I have my angels helping me out and it made the task lighter. I’m giving away some on Christmas Day. My son has been coming down a lot to steal err taste some cookies. He claims that he is a food critic, whoa! Maybe he can’t exactly get the taste, so he has been trying it and with a glass of milk, ahem ^_^. I have a live Santa Claus at home and it’s not even Christmas Eve.

When I saw these condos for sale, I was like whoa! This will be a nice investment. If you don’t plan to live there, well you can always have it rented. And I’ve also learned that condos can be rented out at a much higher price. It’s because of the additional amenities one can enjoy when staying at a condominium. I actually like condo living. It’s a lesser area to clean and clutters can be avoided. I also like the idea of having 24/7 security.
